I have closed two estates before this and have never had such a hard time, ever! It is hard enough to be an executor and you are paying A LOT of money for an attorney to make it less stressful, not more. Her staff is beyond rude, they never answered any question we had asked and when we called it was we'll get back to you but never did. Then they refused to talk to me, even though they had permission to. We previously used an that did a fantastic job just they are in Chicago and we wanted local. That was one of the biggest mistakes we have ever made. Now I have a final bill that is charging us for reading our questions and never answering any of them! Any time we asked they made up more questions for us like we weren't giving them what they needed, it was beyond frustrating and utterly ridiculous. The topper of it all was they absolutely treated us like dirt and implied at every turn that we were trying to do something shady because we wanted to know what they were doing. We pay you to do a job and that is our right to know. Thank god we are back with our original highly competent lawyer who answered every question I asked Lisa's office in about 20 minutes AND didn't charge me for it. They were completely incompetent. We had her do our personal wills which I am now having redone for fear they are not done right. Do yourself a favor and run to anyone and I mean anyone else.

Essentially, the owners above me had issues with their HVAC system, causing water damage to my ceiling. Since I have little faith in property management companies, I went to Alisa for a second opinion and to understand my rights regarding the IL Condo Association Law. She identified several items where the property management company led our board association in the wrong direction. Alisa also reasoned to why my current property management company provided an incorrect initial assessment regarding the HVAC system/water damage. Alisa communicated promptly using Yelp messaging and accepted payment via Zelle for the consultation fee. Perhaps it's because Alisa is quite busy, but looking into a more robust scheduling system or accounting platform would help manage clients, because there was a decent amount of back and forth to just get the consultation setup. Perhaps due to this situation's rapid escalation, there was some anxiety around the situation due to the response time, but this is why many people reach out to lawyers? Regardless, Alisa was very personable and I highly recommend her for condominium law in Chicago and the state of IL.

I retained Bradley Erdman at Mirabella, Kincaid, Frederick & Mirabella, LLC (MKFM Law) for a child custody and financial enforcement case. On March 4, 2026, during an active custody status hearing, I asked him a few standard, clarifying questions about the court process and our strategy for enforcing a major financial judgment. Instead of answering me, Brad became completely dismissive and abruptly withdrew as my attorney right there in open court. He left me completely unrepresented in front of the judge during a critical moment in my custody case. A family law attorney is supposed to be your advocate during highly stressful times.
