Verbal and visual commands both work on our dog! Tom Beitz, even the name is fitting, is a professional dog trainer that we've used to train two GSD's with much success and both remain in our yard with an invisible fence. He also stands behind all the products and gives you the individual attention that dog owners need. With both individual training and group training - you and your dog deserve the best and I highly recommend giving Tom a call if you have any dog training needs. We've been dealing with Tom for over 5 years now and recently had to have him stop over to look at a broken collar. Flipping through the book I found his web site cited for obedience and off leash training. When I looked up the site and found he was from Hamburg, NY I couldn't believe it! He came to our home once a week for basic obedience training for our puppy at about 3 months old. His techniques are amazing! Our dog took to them quickly. He helped us with pulling, jumping issues and helped us to sit stay, leash walk and place. He is experienced and truly cared about our dog.
