The store owner ( an older guy like myself) decided to escort me around his near perfect hardware business. He explained each item that I was interested in with knowledge and precision. Absolutely no pressure to buy anything at all. As he described each item it was with a passion like he was talking about an old friend! He had a ton of nice stuff and it was priced fairly and competitive with big box places! I don't recall ever being treated more nicely anywhere! I highly recommend!

I love their down to earth willingness to help you find exactly what you need. The selection of tools and supplies is on par with other locations and it's always clean and organized. Parking is ample and access from the main road is ok for Shelby. Tool quality has gone up over the years and HF and they now have tools at every price point from budget one time use to super nice Icon (think Snap-on) mechanics tools. Honestly this is the Hobby Lobby for men. Be warned wives, if your husband walks in here you might as well go get a coffee because it's gonna be a minute!

A Lowe's employee, passing by, saw me struggling and asked if he could help me.....he loaded all three pieces onto the rolly cart and promised to meet me up at checkout to help get the lattice into my car. He did that, rolling the lattice, tying it together, then stuffing it into my back seat. What a wonderful, thoughtful thing to do! It turns into a huge hassle…read more Yesterday I placed a delivery order for 10 bales of fine needles six bags of concrete and one other item it was scheduled to be delivered this morning. what does Lowe's do? They send me an email telling me that my items are ready for pick up at the store even though I paid $39 for delivery when I called the store the person I spoke with indicated that they could not deliver it and that the delivery fee would be higher. I told them I will take my business elsewhere and I will. I will make every effort to shop at small hardware stores and avoid this quagmire of the store.

For a small town store they have a large inventory for everything from "soup" to nuts in the hardware world. When you walk into this business don't be surprised if you are greeted with a welcoming smile and called by your name. Everyone here is friendly and helpful. I love being able to get what I need there as opposed to driving all the way to the big box hardware stores and it is rare that they don't have what you need, from clothing to tools to lawn and garden supplies and parts for just about anything. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. They know the items they carry and exactly where to find them. Aisle are clearly marked with street signs so if they can't take you to find an item, they give you exact directions on where you can find it. Best of all, this business supports the local community by partnering with a local business to grow food which is then donated to a community kitchen to feed the hungry right here in our town, and these are our neighbors who might otherwise be going to bed hungry. So yes, there are times when I know I could get what I'm looking for elsewhere at a lower price, but I choose to support this small business which supports our community by helping feed the hungry, supporting our local theatre and scouting groups, and sponsors ladies night at the hardware store and other events. Look at all that junk!" - So yes, it's not a jewel from the outside. Once you enter, you will feel like a rat in a maze. Did I go left or right? Haven't I been in this room already? Breadcrumbs or chalk arrows may be needed to find your way back! The size of this place is enormous. It's chock full of sinks, bathtubs, cabinets, wood and hardware. You really have to see it for yourself. The majority of items were likely purchased from larger chain home improvement warehouses who were selling off items in bulk. Just make an offer - prices are negotiable and cash is king here! (Although they do take plastic). If you can believe it, the owner has two more locations!! No sink was found today, but a new warehouse style "do it yourself" salvage store is on the map!!!
