It seems like every time I attempt to do business with this location. It turns into a huge hassle. Yesterday I placed a delivery order for 10 bales of fine needles six bags of concrete and one other item it was scheduled to be delivered this morning. what does Lowe's do? They send me an email telling me that my items are ready for pick up at the store even though I paid $39 for delivery when I called the store the person I spoke with indicated that they could not deliver it and that the delivery fee would be higher. I told them I will take my business elsewhere and I will. I will make every effort to shop at small hardware stores and avoid this quagmire of the store. read more

However, I feel honor bound by God, Jesus, and all his saints to tell you my experience attempting to purchase a dishwasher at the Lowe's in Shelby, NC. I can no longer sleep soundly at night, knowing that people continue to give this business their hard earned money. We moved to a new (to us) home and ordered a new dishwasher online, the night of May 21st. The house's original dishwasher was presumably made with pre-Cold War technology. It sounded like we had a freight train revving up, every time we presumed to press "Start". Anywho, Lowe's advised we would have delivery on June 6. After my delivery window came and went, I ended up hearing from the installer. Now, the installer is a seperate company than Lowe's. Lowe's subcontracts out the installation of most of it's major appliances, and this was no different. Anywho, the installer advised that there must be a mixup, they don't have my particular dishwasher in the truck. They'll reach out the next business day(it was Friday) once they hear back from Lowe's appliance manager. That Monday, I spoke with the installer and he said I needed to speak with Lowe's Installation Team. Now, LIT is a separate entity from your local Lowe's. It's a corporate office that manages your installation and delivery. It is not a local person. I leave a voicemail with LIT. The next day I get a call back. LIT advises they discovered that the local installer installed my dishwasher at someone else's home. No worries, they say, they're going to send the installer back to that house, pull out the machine, and I can have it installed today. I refuse, advising that it is no longer a new machine. I've paid for a new machine. I ask if we can go ahead and cancel the order. LIT advises that I need to speak with my local Lowe's to get the item refunded. So, I call Lowe's in Shelby, where the first employee tells me that their system shows my dishwasher as delivered and installed, and if I want to dispute that, I need to file a chargeback. I refuse, since if their documentation shows it as delivered, I'll lose the chargeback dispute. I ask to speak with a manager. The manager is probably the worst person in customer service I've ever interacted with. I've had nicer interactions at the DMV. I've felt more at ease during a Pap Smear. This gentleman berates me and says he has no idea what's going on, that it's his store and he needs to look into it. He hangs up. And it's been a full month and I can't get anyone to pick up the phone. I'm out $800 and I'm still using Soviet technology to get my dishes clean. Don't use Lowe's, specifically the one in Shelby. I'd rather wash my dishes with barbed wire and orange juice than give them one more dollar of my money. At this point, it's actual theft. read more

Just moved here and had to go to this Lowe's a half dozen times over the past week, as my new home needs a lot of work. I love coming here, the associates are there for you. James is super good and he goes beyond the call of duty to make sure the customers leave happy! And you do. The Frontline associates are awesome too! From where I had came from, I had almost gave up on retail stores like this, where the employees help the customer. I came into the store today. No one was in line for returns. 2 workers were standing there discussing something. Never bothered to make eye contact even though it was obvious I was standing there and ignored me. Then a lady came up to the other register and asked a question. Ordering was a nightmare; delivery was scheduled, rescheduled, rescheduled (all by them mind you), and then delivered the wrong items. Went to the store and waited 3 hours to get it worked out. Then yet ANOTHER mistake was made on their part and we still haven't received the items for which payment has already processed. They will take your money right away, but you may never see your product. No one will take accountability nor will they compensate in any matter when it is their negligence and incompetence. Ordered a custom door for our back patio, we were told it would be a month or two because it was special order. That was back in March.. it is now June and our delivery date has changed ten plus times! Customer service here is awful! We've been in contact with corporate and they're just as bad, telling you they'll update with any changes and still get nothing. We just received another change of delivery date. I understand special order items but waiting five months for something is more than ridiculous! We will NEVER order from Lowe's again! Went to my local Lowe's yesterday. in Shelby NC. I needed 3 pieces of plastic lattice. It's not heavy, but it's bulky & proved difficult for me to load onto the rolly cart. A Lowe's employee, passing by, saw me struggling and asked if he could help me.....he loaded all three pieces onto the rolly cart and promised to meet me up at checkout to help get the lattice into my car. He did that, rolling the lattice, tying it together, then stuffing it into my back seat. What a wonderful, thoughtful thing to do! I was in need of grass seed and an aerator. When I visited the store in Shelby, NC at 5:30 PM on Thursday, I asked for help to have some removed from a higher shelf because all the seed bags that I wanted on the lower shelves were expired. I asked the person working the counter to call for help, twice, which they did, twice, but an associate never came. I even called the front desk from inside the store and they were not sure if they could get someone back to the seed area to help. I wound up leaving without either seeds or aerator. I have visited this store many times, due to the projects I do and they are always understaffed, even before Covid. They really need to focus on customer service. I hate driving ot he next town to shop at a competitor, but I have in the past and may have to in the future. read more

This store has become more of a casualty than a helpful place to shop. Today is was overpriced dead plants, customer service desk associates that couldn't care less, and a head cashier who couldn't be bothered to come in person when requested, she sent a message that she couldn't help anyway. . My home base Lowe's. Very hot and cold on service. Understaffed almost just like every store you go to nowadays. You literally have to chase someone down for help and then they seem to need to find someone else to help you. During the summer things are a little busier and better, especially in the garden shop. Good place for grills and propane exchange. Customer service desk is pretty good. Lowe's will pretty much take anything back. I bought a very expensive mower last season, used it twice and it wouldn't start at the beginning of this season; they very kindly allowed me to exchange it. I like it better than my home town Lowes only because its bigger, has more choices(especially in garden department) . One thing in particular is rolls of sod. Do not use them for Carpet installation. The service and quality of work is terrible and then it takes months...literally months...and rounds of back and forth between Lowe's and their sub-contractors to get them to address the issues. Absolute worst experience I've for what should have been a simple and quick job. read more

I have done business with Lowe's for years, mostly because of their support for Veteran's, which my wife and I happen to be. Over the last few years their level of competence has drastically declined. My wife and I did some home renovations over last year or so and Lowe's has repeatedly sent or ordered the wrong items. Moreover, if it's been delivered and able to be damaged in any way, it's been damaged. Every appliance I've ever had delivered has been scratched. I ordered a larger stackable tool box, they damaged the top box during delivery to the point it was destroyed. I'm not one to complain about a one time issue, this has been recurrent and is beyond frustrating. read more

This is one of the worst Lowe's you will ever visit! No one ever available to wait on you and most employees there are not knowledgeable of Lowe's policies and sales. Visited recently and was treated poorly by 2 assistant managers and a sales associate who said I was not eligible to purchase exterior doors for my house during a promotional financing offer as they had to come out and measure before writing up the contract and that would take 5-6 days. Uh your financing offer was for only 6 days but you couldn't understand logic. I would've had to had the foresight to come on the first day of the sale and hope your staff would be out to measure my doors in time(and I purchased windows from you and it took 10 days with 2 cancellations on your part). Nonetheless I am boycotting your store and another Home Improvement store got my $1700 worth of business because you can't hire people who are courteous and competent. As it is myself and other customers stood 20 minutes in your door window area ringing your bell to be waited on! Then an employee told my friend and I Lowe's doesn't alter or sway on their prices anymore because corporate CEO's DIDN'T GET THEIR BIG BONUSES LAST YEAR?!? Why would you tell a customer that???
