They had a good amount on the wall of selections. The prices will vary but I thought they were on par with the prices everywhere else. I wanted to see if they had the Oakley Gauge but I didn't see it. I tried on some that they had on display but the fit wasn't comfortable to me. No one approach me inside the store so I was able to shop in peace.

During my 20 years of needing glasses Nicklins was by far the most professional place I visited. A good selection of glasses at a wide variety of prices so all budgets are catered for. But more importantly a very good after sales service to go with your purchase. I had to return my pair when the anti glare coating became tarnished, they checked them and ordered a new pair of lenses which were delivered within a week and then when I returned fitted them into my frames while I waited. The optician i saw was absolutely lovely, and when i got contact lenses for the first time they were profession l and incredibly helpful, checking to see i hadn't blinded myself or gone blind after a weeks trial. They have a great service where you can pay a direct debit monthly and your lenses get delivered to your door so there's no need to go to the store. I often have to pop in and get my glasses tightened, and they're always happy to see me (or just super friendly). They have a good stock of glasses and will help advice you on a shape and style to suit your face. My only complaint is that they didn't have spare contact lenses in here one day when one of mine fell out into my salad. Oh, and they're expensive too, but they seem to work with lots of local business's to offer good deals.

I walked past this shops so many times I forgot it was here and was drawn in by the promise of a discount. The lovely Indian couple who run the shop were extremely understanding and helpful - I kept returning with various friends before I finally settled on a style of frame and booked my appointment (I am sure you are supposed to have your prescription ready when you start looking for glasses ). I was extremely impressed that they remembered my name and very embarrassed that I don't remember theirs. I felt in good hands and pleased that I wasn't rushed through the examination. I now own a beautiful pair of glasses which I actually enjoy wearing. A rare fiend of a place where you still received good old-fashioned and very personal service. Highly recommended
