But dealing with Tradewinds to rent out my dads house has been one of the worst experiences of customer service in my adulthood. Atrocious communication, weak follow thru, and after almost 2 years of fix-up that was supposed to be managed by Tradewinds the house still sits empty and is unrentable. Do not use this property management! I would give zero stars if I could! My lawyer has inspected their contracts and it will only cover their asses. They will not fight for your security deposit at the end of a lease term. I have mold, no filters in my furnace, standing water in my home, damage to almost all of my walls from tape, the tennant had a undisclosed and unapproved dog which did tons of damage, the tennant didn't disclose water damage for a year and didn't clean a thing. This had cost me so far over my security deposit. Tradewinds refused to ask for my deposit back ( saying they don't want to go to court) even though I had receipts, insurance adjusters, etc. and photos to prove the damage. They wanted me to sign a release of responsibility form to get my deposit back. Unless you want to get your home back totally damaged and not get any monies back to fix it up, please dont use TRADEWINDS!! They have horrible communications, can't work with city officials on inspections and totally ARE NOT YOUR ADVOCATES! I am a professional, business owner and this is my only rental and I am soooo disappointed in this company and I guarantee they have a one star rating for a reason!! read more

If I would have searched and checked who they were and not what they claim, I would have never dealt w/them. I felt and still feel how deceptive that they are. My only human face to face interface with them was at the time of the showing. As others have mentioned here, the town house was not ready for a move-in. Exactly as the other tenants complained, the property did not look that it was ready for a move in. There were excessive scuffs, holes, nails and screws on the walls all around that needed a professional painting. Worst than that, I have to live without an air conditioner and a microwave to use for more than three weeks while still they charged me for a full rent. In the contract, it said that the carpet must be professionally shampooed. At the final days of my lease, they sent me a list of three names that they authorize to do the job. All three of them gave me an unrealistic and exuberant prices that can make you drop dead. Their prices ranged from $430 to $290. I did call the office and told them that is was legally unacceptable and I found someone that will do it for $91. The lady on the other end threatened me if I use that licensed and bonded carpet cleaning company that gave me a price of $91 for the same job; that will charge me for the most expensive of their choosing. They charged me another $144 for a junk removal and another $113.38 for a replacement of 2 vertical blinds that cost less than $5 at Menards an a burned out bulb that will cost less $2. A total of $257.38 that they need to proof in court. I requested that they have to provide me a detailed and an itemized originals/ or copies of the documents that they used to formulate how they came up with the $257.38. read more

Jessica helped me purchase my first home. As a first time home buyer I was nervous and excited. I would email her homes that I thought were "perfect" and she would explain to me why they wouldn't work based on what I had told her I needed/wanted in a home previously. She reassured me and told me to trust the process. She was always very quick to respond to any and all of my questions (and there were a lot). Jessica was wonderful to work with, very knowledgeable about the entire process, honest, patient, and genuinely cares about the people she works with. Tradewind Properties has terrible customer service and Jessica, the person in charge, is extremely unprofessional. We've had multiple issues with our rental unit and they have blamed us for issues that we did not cause. We had a fridge break and they waited multiple days to notify the owner that we needed a new one ordered, thus we went over 3 weeks without a fridge and they did not compensate us for lost food, or food during that time. They have poor communication skills and are overall very rude. In writing, Jessica said that I am not a client so I am low priority. As a tenant of a property Tradewinds is managing, I should be considered a client and given respect. I advise you to not use Tradewinds. read more

Called and left a message last week, no returned phone call. Called again and they were processing someones application. I mentioned I called and didn't get a call back and the women was rude, short, and unwilling to apologize for the mistake regardless if it was hers. Stay away from Tradewinds Properties. They would not return my deposit even after the renters allowed their dogs to urinate on my walls, destroying my baseboards. The renters also did not close the shower door for two years, and never let me know it was not completely fixed, causing mold in my master bathroom. They are crooks. They have very unprofessional, and incomprehensive people working who probably doesn't earn enough for a living, which would explain the lack of effort in trying to communicate to their renters. They managed my property for seven years and pocketed over $10000. When the tenant left they did an inspection and concluded the apartment was in good condition while it was trashed, the walls had markings and holes, the mirrors were broken, the carpet was torn and had paint all over it, the kitchen appliances were not functioning anymore. But they refused to take responsibility and pay for some of the damages from the tenant security deposit. later I called the tenant and found out that they did not get a penny of their security deposit back. I was looking for a home to rent that I would like to live in and that would accept my very large, yet docile dogs and came across a listing managed by Tradewind Properties. From my very first call it has been an enjoyable experience. There was quite a showing frenzy the day I went to check out the place; however, after being a Realtor years back and being stood up by prospective buyers, I sort of liked how they set it up. It was hard to focus as more and more people came through; however, Yesenia Pallchizaca did her very best in answering all questions from all prospective renters. I decided right then and there that this was the place for me and worked with Judy Composto on the application process. I was approved within 24 hours and then contacted by Michelle Dennie shortly after who walked me through the next phase of the process. Michelle has answered countless questions that I've had with nothing but prompt responses, clear answers and the utmost courtesy. Everyone that I've dealt with at Tradewind Properties has been a delight. I've read some of the negative comments on here and I am sure there's some validity; however, I also believe that no company is perfect, just as no client is either. We can do the whole I'm the customer thing; however, at the end of the day communication, managing expectations and integrity all come into play with any business or personal transaction. I've asked so many questions; however, I want to ensure that as I transition from homeowner to renter, I'm doing the right things and not over-stepping my bounds. The home I've rented was in dire need of paint and I was happy to be able to pick my own colors and Michelle helped me work with the Agent of the property owner to enable me to paint the property more appropriate colors. The lease is very clear and the process was adhered to throughout the whole transaction. These are things I like to see from a company I send money to. It eliminates a lot of grey areas. So far I'm thrilled to not only have found a home that I want to live in and that will accept my dogs, but, that has an entire Staff of Professionals who are so very understanding and accommodating. About to rent a house from them. There was incorrect info on my credit report. They wrote me off when I told them it was incorrect. I had to contact the owner directly and ask for them to just give me a few days to get the documents in order. If it wasn't for my diligence and determination to rent this house, they would have just moved on to the next applicant. I understand they wanna make a quick buck and put a renter in there right away, but c'mon, I'm a human being just like you and need a place to live! They would not return my calls, until I told them I would just show up at their office during business hours and that they could deal with me in person then. So far not off to a good start. Hopefully living in the house will be a much better experience than what it took to rent the house. read more

We have worked with Tradewinds and specifically Chad Solum for close to two years, the first property management company we contracted with. The decision to leverage a property management company has been incredibly valuable, saving tremendous time and actually increasing our revenue, given the high occupancy rates that have been maintained. Timeliness of service and responses to communication is excellent. We would appreciate a more comprehensive evaluation of comparable rents in the area, to ensure our property is appropriately priced, and a more thoughtful approach to need to have vs nice to have aesthetic updates, given we have a limited budget. The house we are renting from Tradewinds is a very nice property, but Tradewinds is just not willing to deal with maintenance in a timely manner. The door leading into the garage has half of the weather stripping gone and we were told to deal with it ourselves if there was a draft. Mice appeared and even though they sent someone to block holes on the outside they didn't provide any mouse traps so we are buying them. It sounds like small things, but when you are paying as much as we are for the home, these things should be taken care of. I've owned houses for years before moving here, but not knowing how long I was staying, decided to rent. Hopefully things will be better when the lease is up. read more

My husband and I had a terrible experience with this company when we moved to the area from Washington, D.C. We rented a great house from them, but were so disappointed to see the condition of the house when we moved in. They had not repainted any of the walls, and in fact had patched holes in the walls and left the white spots, even on dark red walls. The house was in overall terrible condition. We had to call them almost weekly for a month to fix things that were breaking, and finally in November, a toilet overflowed and ruined the entire house. They did not come out until 72 hours after the flood and said it would be "no big deal". The house ended up needing at least 3 months of work and we had to terminate our lease early. We then waited 7 months for them to pay us all of the money they owed us. We would never work with this company again. read more

Horrible unethical company. Don't do timely repairs and repairs are done by untrained professionals that don't completely fix the job. They bill your for extra fees and have unethical practices. They also threaten you. Once had to pet sit while my mom was in the hospital and they threatened to remove the pet for me and dispose of it in 2 days and billed me a $150 fine. Is this even legal? Awful property management company! I knew the tenants were going to move out of a place that I inquired about- and put my inquiry in two weeks before the place was up for rent. I find out that they were going to start showing the place. I was then asked before my scheduled appointment to CALL THEM UP AN HOUR BEFORE THE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT or else they would cancel my showing. Can you believe this? That is what I call poor customer service. The ownership is on me? Then we get there and this guy Matt doesn't even know anything about the property and would not really answer our questions. He said things like "well I represent the owner so I can't really tell you". What does that mean? If you represent the owner, then you should be able to tell me, right? During the showing, we were interrupted my people walking through at the same time we were scheduled to see the place. How rude! Lastly, we were told that if we don't get our application in today, we'll probably lose the opportunity to rent the place as it is a "hot rental property". I guess it doesn't matter that we know the neighbors next door to the town home and that they are dear friends of ours and that we inquired about the place even before it was on the market? To make matters worse, I missed a few hours of work so I could complete the application and tour the place. We then received a call that our application said June 15 move in date and that the owners would only accept June 1 (as they were already looking for May 15th move in date). I then relayed the message to Judy that Sam-the leasing agent that scheduled our tour - told us that the owners would go as late as June 15th. I then told Judy that we were misquoted and that we would not have gone out of our way to do all the work to get everything if we could not move in June 15th. She basically did not care and said that there was nothing they could do about it. I am extremely disappointed in Tradewind's poor customer service and respect to potential tenants. I am SO thankful that we dodged a bullet and do not have to work with these people moving forward. read more

We have been renting with this company for a year and a half. At first everything seemed to be okay. The house was great inside but the yard looked a little sad. They never tried to fix it like they said they would. They just weed whipped the the weeds a little bit to make a little patch of dirt. Every time it came to renew our lease they would up the price of rent so we had to decide to move because it was just getting ridiculously high. When we gave our notice they sent us the expectations of what they expected. They barely gave us any notice when people were coming to our house. I politely asked them to not schedule showings on Saturday mornings but they refused my request. I also found it very unprofessional when they took days or even never called us back. We had a few things break like our thermostat in the middle of winter... which took a few days for them to come fix. I would not recommend using Tradewind Properties as a landlord. read more
