Salmon kimchi
Chris J.

Our dinner tonight was fantastic. After several days of cycling, we had a good appetite. We did not have a reservation, but showed up right at 20:00 and we were able to get seated. It was a Wednesday evening. Probably not possible to show up without a reservation on the weekend. Our first course was salmon kimchi served in top of half a lime. You inhaled the salmon whilst squeezing the lime at the same time. Wow. The next course was a tomato salad with fresh mint. Then we moved into smoked grilled artichoke with an egg yoke. Double wow. The fourth course was a tripe stew, something one wouldn't find in the estados unidos, but a traditional dish here. Served with a sort of farm sausage. We rested a bit and enjoyed our Ronda wine. For "dessert" we had pork iberico with roasted potatoes in a very flavorful minty smoked sauce. It was so good I made reservations to return two night later.

Hands down the best meal I had in Spain. We got the lemon dessert and found it to be delicious. Then on a naughty whim, I also ordered us the chocolate dessert-- absolutely divine! Service was great. I can't recommend this place enough

Modern contemporary Spanish food in a modern chic environment. You'll pay more, but you're on vacation and should treat yourself! Sometimes. Luckily I just wanted some snacks, so my wallet only took on light damage. €3 Calamari sandwich...its small, but on a soft delicious fresh black roll and with tasty sauces, order it! €4 Oyster...not sure what possessed me to order an oyster so far from the ocean. But it was fresh, chilled and delicious. €4.50 Dessert thing with green ice and mousses. It was weird, but still pretty good. If you've been in Spain for awhile and need a fresh twist on food, check it out. If you're a student traveler scrapping by, don't. Unless you're a trust fund kid with daddy's credit card.

Wow what a cool spot in the middle of tourist town in Ronda. This is the third restaurant in on casse nueva near the main plaza. It's old name was traga tapas but it is now tragatá. They serve a more gourmet version of tapas. No menu del dios but that's the price of great flavor! The oysters natural were served with a lemon foam and we're just tremendous. Flavorful and perfectly cool on a hot summer day. The Sangria has a nice fruity flavor as well. The sardines with olive oil were terrific. 12.50 euros but really worth it. The José Peña olive oil was really wonderful and rich. The fresh baked bread was light and crunchy. The asparagus was amazing. White and super large. Nicely done and severe cold with a terrific egg and chives sauce. The sardines was great as well with a nice bread and tomato to accompany it. The "pulled pork" taco didn't look like it came from Taco Bell :-) it was served as a lettuce wrap with saffron filaments on top. Delicious!

Superb! This place is a cool spot for lunch if you're ever in Ronda, Spain. Highly recommend this place! Started with the oysters with lemon. It has a lemon foam on top. Amazing! Tacos with pulled pork. It has a sweet and spicy BBQ sauce and lots of cilantro. Salad with mozzarella, basil and raf tomatoes was so good and refreshing. Picantan Chicken is tender rotisserie like chicken with a stewed flavor. Beef tataki had a nice mixture of BBQ flavor and cilantro and noodles. Thai Seabass had a nice mild spicy flavor. Tip it off with cafe con leche as dessert.

Do it! The food is such an adventure who knew duck could be so delicious or crispy pigs ears could be so divine! The staff is so friendly and whether or not you speak English they will work it out to ensure you enjoy your meal. The inside is well done and the chef is a transplant from Barcelona. If you want to try unique twists on Spanish food with a wonderful wine list.

Such a wonderful meal- everything was so good we even tried the pig ears

This was the best restaurant we tried in Ronda and Spain! We went on a tour with local tour guides and they said this was the best restaurant in the city! We gave it a try and it did not disappoint! The Salmon,Saam, and squid sandwich were our favorite! Everything we ordered was delish! This is a MUST try- even if you go for just the salmon- best thing we tried!

4 persons, the salmon was salma so it was amazing.

Modern with a really good vibe. Probably best tapas I've had in Spain so far. Good prices too. And really nice staff :)

What's left of our tuna belly plate (sorry not to take the photo when it arrived)

Great, modern takes on Classic Spanish tapas. We had the sardines on bread with tomato which was delicious, the Caesar salad which was lettuce with fried chicken twigs and crispy pieces of thin sliced ham, and the tuna belly with fresh tomato and olive oil and basil. Highly recommended if you want to avoid the tourist traps near the historic center of Ronda.

Maybe I should get out of that mentality, because everywhere we ate in Spain that was close to popular attractions was decent. Anyways, I digress. The service was excellent. It was definitely fine dining. They used an aerator for our wine, and kept refilling when our glasses were close to finishing, which was attentive service. The cod and avocado salad was amazing. They used avocado skin rather than avocado meat, which gave the salad an extra crunch rather than creaminess, which I thoroughly enjoyed and was unexpected. There were orange slices, quail egg bits, and black olives (which were NOT at all bitter, despite other occasions we've had black olives). It was a wonderful balance. The paella was delicious. We got the seafood paella; although it wasn't as crunchy as we had hoped, the seafood flavor was super saturated. Plus, there was sooo much good and fresh seafood! Salmorejo was soooo good. We did a cooking class the previous day where we made salmorejo and we couldn't get enough! It is similar to gazpacho, but tomato-based. No salmon in it as you might guess :P But very creamy and topped with chopped hard boiled egg and quality jamon. There was a leg of jamon sitting on a table next to me looking DIVINE, so I was excited to have it in our soup. Tiramisu was delicious too. Not typical to what I've had before, but the ladyfingers at the bottom were not crushed, but rather whole. I loved it! Also, quite possibly the BEST wine we had all trip. So sad we couldn't bring it back with us, but ask for their recommendation, and you won't regret it... It was a local Ronda wine. If you're around the area, definitely check it out! Great date spot, romantic and quaint.

Top-notch service and great food. One of my favorite meals in Spain…read more Given the late lunch-time heat, we chose to sit alone inside to people watch at the window and take in the bull fighting artwork in the comfort of AC. The meal started with 3 complimentary bites (Spanish omelette, tuna, and mussels). I had the garlicky gazpacho to start, which was poured into my bowl for a little table side pizzaz, followed by the fried eggplant which was very light and delightfully sweet. The bull tail was impressively large (although a lot of it bone), and cooked so tenderly no knife was needed. The flan dessert was a bit of a work of art and its taste on par with its appearance. Finally, our meal ended with complimentary sweet wine. The service could not have been more attentive nor nicer. We realized when we exited we were the only ones left because of siesta, but there was absolutely no rushing. Should I ever return to Ronda, it'd be my first stop.
