Such a hidden gem on the border of CO/KS! Needed a place to stay on our roadtrip and our family had such a wonderful stay! 6 of us fit perfectly in the south cabin- my 2 oldest in the loft, my 4 year old on the futon, my husband and I in the downstairs bed and my 1 year old in a pack n play. My kids absolutely LOVED the ladder and climbing into the loft. The beds were probably the most comfortable thing we have ever slept on and overall the cabin was so clean. If all that wasn't enough, the breakfast was absolutely incredible. My kids labeled it "the best French toast in the world". Haha. We were delivered an amazing hot breakfast to our door at the requested time which included French toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes,and fruit along with coffee and OJ plus hot chocolate for my kids. Specialties

Two Luxury Lodge Pole Pine Log Cabins were recently added to our Guest Accommodations. Complete with Full Kitchens, and Bathrooms with Tub/Shower. Luxury European Pillow Top Restonic Mattresses are California King, and Queen in Loft. Futon that makes into double bed, so cabin can sleep 6 people. French Toast with Homemade Bread has become a specialty served with scrambled eggs and jalapeno cheese, bacon, breakfast potato, Starbucks coffee, and Orange Juice. For the lighter breakfast we serve a parfait with granola, and a Greek yogurt and fresh strawberries and fresh blackberries.

History

Established in 2010.

The 5 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms in each were remodeled in 2010. Originally the house was an old saloon in Trail City & was moved to Coolidge in the 1890's. Its been a residence til 2010 when it was converted into the Bed & Breakfast. The Two Lodge Pole Pine Log Cabins were added to the B&B in 2018. Complete with kitchens, Loft with Queen size bed, and Ground level with California King European Pillow Top, and a couch that can be a double bed futon. Can sleep 6. The bathroom has a tub/shower.

My family began doing historical preservation work in Coolidge. I came back to help. My Mother and I started the Bed & Breakfast to have a place for people to stay who were helping with the historical preservation. I was surprised how much fun I was having with the preservation work, and the interesting people who enjoyed staying at a B&B.

6 of us had a fantastic time at Lori's place. We stayed in one of her new cabins and it was perfect. Very comfy, room for all of us. She even had drinks in the fridge which she will never know how appreciated that was. Everything was so quite and peaceful. Man I needed that! I was fortunate enough to spend some time talking with Lori. I love history so we had a great chat. I appreciate her taking the time to sell me the history of the area which is amazing. Thank you Lori for such a great time and exceptional place to stay. We will be back. read more

My husband and I made arrangements to stay one night on our way home from a family vacation in Colorado. Due to a family emergency, my brother had to change plans and ride home with us. Lori couldn't have been nicer. She took the time to clean the room next to us so he could stay close (and watch the Chiefs game) and even discounted the room. We had to leave early and so we missed breakfast, but everything I've heard about it is wonderful. We will definitely be coming back. read more

I was looking for a bed and breakfast about halfway between Taos and home, and Trail City Bed & Breakfast was it. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean. There were other guests, but I would not have known unless I met them when I drove up and parked. Lori is a gracious hostess. Breakfast was wonderful and filling and healthy. Coffee was very good.
