Admittedly, it had been far too long since we'd brought our trailer in for an inspection, and the service team did a wonderful job walking us through everything that needed attention. They were patient, helpful, and didn't even make fun of any of my very dumb questions! They kept me updated throughout our trailer's stay, which I really appreciated. When we were finally able to pick it up, they took the time to walk us through a few simple items and made sure we understood everything. After we got the trailer home, we did have one issue with the barn door coming off its track. I contacted them, and they immediately offered several options -- either bring it back at our convenience so they could fix it or receive a refund for that portion of the work. We really appreciate a company that stands behind its work and makes things right when there's an issue. I looked for over a year comparing prices and floorplans and found the right RV and best price at THRV in April... a Wildwood Heritage Glen 286rl. We settled on a price and booked a quick trip from Hawaii. It was worth it! When we arrived, the team at THRV had the RV prepped and after a thorough inspection we closed the deal, hitched it up and have been in love with it ever since. It had only a couple minor problems that were quickly resolved. Sales personnel does not promptly reply to messages. They advertise the lowest price but cannot be transparent on the total price. I got the same rate and terms from camping world and monthly payment is lower. Now that I am asking for my refund, salesperson said, we beat camping world's price by $1900 but won't waste anymore of your time." Funny he said that because a professional salesperson from camping world will be getting a commission and not him. Beware of this place. Buyer beware--poor customer service. I purchased a new 2026 Rockwood travel trailer in February. At delivery, two holes were found in the theater seat; photos were taken and the issue documented. I was told the replacement would arrive in 2-4 weeks. By April, there were no updates and no one could confirm if the part was even ordered. In May, after multiple calls (including unreturned calls to managers), I was told the part had never been ordered. It was finally placed while I was on the phone, with the same 2-4 week estimate and a "direct" number for follow-up. It is now June--six weeks later--with no update. Calls and messages go unanswered, including to that direct line. I would not recommend doing business here. read more

We have had to purchase a new e-cooler ($1K) and replace several items that they said "passed inspection." We thought about small claims court, but opted to report to BBB instead. Would not change my review. Still would give negative stars if that was possible. They will tell you you're family during the sale, then not know your name when you leave the lot. A fantastic place to work with. This one of the best buying experiences I've ever had from any dealer. Usually dealerships have a minor to major "gotcha" during the process, where you go back and forth with a mysterious "sales manager" and you just sit there for hours. Not here. First it started with an unsually likeable sales guy named Charlie. Charlie is going to become a friend, but he still keeps it professional. Checked in with me every day between my deposit and delivery date. I was somewhat concerned because I was driving 300 miles to this dealership for a great deal and I strongly suspect a hiccup or a gotcha. So they refer me into the 'sales office' to sign papers. Here it is. Nope. Mike Barnes, also unusually likeable just walked me through everything. He did pitch an extended warranty, as someone always will at every dealership. I do have to tell you, he made me a deal here that was hard to turn down (because I wanted the money for upgrades vs warranty work). But I turned it down and he went back to the papers. Maybe this process took 15 minutes? Jake gave me the tour of the camper, another great guy, who knew the ins and outs and was a wealth of info. I know this sounds too positive, all of these 'great guys' and this excellent, fast process, but it was really like this. I left for camping driving home, Charlie checked in with, daily, for several days afterward. Highly recommended. BTW, I bought a new Grand Design, and I ran into 2 problems I'll share here to save someone else the grief: 1. The rear view camera comes on only when the tow vehicle has the lights turned on. I never turned on my lights (have day lights) and so the camera never turned on. This is a feature because the camera is then off all of the time, not drawing a batter load. Very cool. 2. I blew a fuse on the jack on my first hitching. This happened because I had to extend it to maximum length this one time. If you do this, it must demand more than 30 amps, blowing the fuse. The fuse is NOT with the jack, it is with the postive lead on the battery. Hope this saves someone hours from troubleshooting in a 85 degree campsite like I had to do! Love the trailer. To our horror, we were told that a $1,600.00 service had been completed when, in actuality, it had not been. lf I had not pressed them on the issue, they would have defrauded us of our money. We bought our first 2024 travel trailer Grand Design Imagine 2500RL model from Trailer Hitch RV June 2024 and we absolutely love it! The finance manager Mike Barnes was very nice and easy to take care of business. The technicians gave us the walk through and taught us how to use it in a crash course which was extremely helpful. Bought a brand new Grand design Reflection less than a year ago got it home noticed there was a paint defect on the front cap notified Trailer hitch rv . They have been zero help. My husband and I purchased a used RV from this dealership just a few months ago. We are aware that in general, it will be more expensive to purchase a used RV from a dealership as opposed to purchasing from an independent seller, but felt that the added cost of going through a dealership is justified because going through the dealership is supposed to provide an added layer of confidence in the purchase, since it is the responsibility of the dealership to thoroughly inspect the rig for any major damage from the previous owner. This dealership specifically assured us that every used RV undergoes a thorough inspection to ensure that there is no major structural damage etc. We were told that our RV was thoroughly inspected and some small lighting issues were fixed, but no major issues were identified. Well, on our first dry camping trip, we filled the water tank and immediately water started pouring out from underneath the RV and also spilling out from under the sink onto the floor inside the RV. We immediately took the RV to a repair shop, and they identified that the manufacturer had accidentally punctured the fresh water tank when they were installing the propane lines. Since the previous owner never filled the water tank, she never identified the issue. And since it is a used RV, the manufacturer warranty is no longer valid. Looks like we are going to have to shell out around $600-$700 to replace the punctured water tank! An issue that should have been easily and quickly identified during even a cursory inspection. No excuses for why they did not identify this issue during their "thorough inspection". read more

I had a very specific trailer that I wanted and learned that the Trailer Hitch had 3. I called the dealership and got Chris. I told him what I was wanting; he said he had 3, but only one was still available. I could put down a deposit and he would work on getting it financed for me. Well, that must've been a very tall order because it took him over two weeks to find a bank that was willing to finance a single income retiree who had just financed a truck. But bless his heart, he kept trying and trying, determined to get that trailer for me. It meant so much to me, but I knew the writing on the wall was that it wasn't meant to be, and I had to pull out of the deal. I have never met Chris personally, but I know he's a good person, not because he tried to get a sale but because he wanted to make a customer happy. Thank you, Chris, for being one of the good ones. DO NOT BUY HERE !!!!!!! They only want to use their finical institutions. They will continuously tell you it's the best possible deal. We requested them to use the bank of our choice. After about 4 days of no communication, we were told our bank denied the application which ended up being a complete LIE we contacted that bank had a pre-approval letter over to Trailer Hitch within 30 minutes once again no communication for about 3 days finally came out and said our offer is the best we can do if that don't work for you we will just refund your deposit. i would have given them a -5 stars if I could have. I have never delt with a more unprofessional business ever. I purchased a Camping Trailer last July. When I purchased the trailer it had two batteries. It was supposed to have been washed on the outside and cleaned on the inside prior to the pickup day. When I arrived it only had one battery and it wasn't washed or cleaned. Then they tell me that the batteries were bad and they only had one in stock. I'm calling bullshit on that. Then I purchased the extended warranty and was told no matter what if something goes wrong they fix it for free, more bullshit. I have been trying to contact their service department for 4 hours to no avail. I gave up and called Sky River RV in Santa Maria, CA. I got through right away they were more than helpful. If you are looking for an RV go to Sky River RV. DO NOT GO TO THE TRAIL HITCH RV. Unless you like getting the run around and ripped off. Sadly I have to update my prior review. We picked up our 2025 Lance Trailer from Trailer Hitch, and had a few issues. Sergio helped us with some, and said that he would follow up with Service to help us, but evidently did nothing. Finally I reached out to the sales manager and let him know I was not happy. He connected me with a Tech, who eventually (after several weeks) suggested I go to another dealership for support. Admittedly the other dealer I went to was somewhat closer, but it seemed that it was mostly to get rid of us. Considering we bought a $70K trailer, it felt pretty shabby. read more

Hitch RV is simply the best. My wife and I just purchased our first travel trailer and the staff at Hitch RV made the entire process so pleasant, easy, and reassuring. Naturally, as first time RV'ers, we had lots of questions. We went in without any knowledge of RVs or how to tow them, and Hitch RV did not let us leave until we knew everything possible about our trailer and all the steps necessary to hitch it to our truck and tow it home. I want to especially thank Berny, our sales rep, who helped us find the perfect trailer. When we first arrived at the lot to shop, Berny was simply delightful. So easy to talk to, answered all our questions, showed us many trailers that had all the features we were looking for, and best of all, gave us our own time and privacy to walk through all the potential trailers without ever pushing a sale or making us feel pressured in anyway. Once we decided on our trailer, Berny was incredibly responsive in the week leading up to us picking up the trailer. He answered his phone any time we called, and responded to every text message with any questions we had. When we went to pick up the trailer, Chris (finance) and Brian (sales manager) helped us with the purchase and paperwork and they could not have been lovelier. They were so pleasant to chat with and genuinely so excited for us. Never did we feel like anyone was pushing a sale or suggesting anything we didn't need. It truly felt like they had our best interest at heart and they made the entire process so enjoyable. The service techs, Jake and Tony, were also fantastic. Jake did our orientation and showed us all of our trailer components and explained how everything worked. He took his time with us and made sure all of our questions were answered. The most nerve-wracking part was learning how to hitch the trailer to our truck, and Tony alleviated our fears in that department. He showed us step-by-step how to use the tongue jack and get the trailer all hitched up. We drove off the lot feeling confident and comfortable, with the knowledge we needed to start using our trailer. I could not recommend Hitch RV enough. We made the 2 hour drive to Nipomo from Camarillo and it was absolutely worth it. Every staff member who helped us made us feel like family. My wife & I have dealt with a few RV dealers for purchases, information, service, and general support for our trailers. By far, Trailer Hitch RV, in Nipomo, has surpassed the others in every category. As stated on their website, they are known for their low price policy. The responsiveness was impressive before AND after our purchase. They treated us as though we were joining the Trailer Hitch family. That may sound like a cliche, but it has continued months after our purchase. The GM, Brian, took a call from me on his cell on his day off regarding an additional purchase we were considering. That was a month after our purchase. Mike, the Finance Manager, was pleasant and open and super helpful with answers and insights about financing the unit, additional services, and accessories. Laura, our Salesperson, is a gem!! They are so fortunate to have her!! Steve, the Service Manager, took us under wing. He told us the entire process of installing our new hitch, why that particular hitch was chosen, and readying the unit for handover. The guys who installed our new hitch and readied the 5th wheel, Jake and Tony and Preston, treated us like they were training us how to care for their baby. And when it was time to hand us the keys, so to speak, they made sure we felt confident to handle it. Now, you could say they were all just doing their jobs, and they were. But not everywhere does a team do all their jobs exceptionally well. All in all, we made the right decision driving over 100 miles to purchase from Trailer Hitch RV. Lastly, we had a very pleasant discussion with a local Grand Design dealer regarding the model we were considering. He spent about a half hour with us and gave us a lot of information about the model we wanted even though he didn't have one, but could get one in a few weeks. Towards the end of our chat, a statement was made that if we didn't purchase from them, they would not service a unit purchased elsewhere. My wife and I looked at each other, fairly certain that Grand Design corporate wouldn't approve of that being said. Regardless, his time is worth something and I plan to drop off a gift card to a restaurant near that dealership as a thank you for his time. We purchased our RV from Trailer Hitch in 2018 and had an exceptional experience; we've since recommended them to anyone who says they've had a bad experience at a dealership or are looking to purchase an RV. It was just that great!! BUT. SINCE August 2023 I have called about half a dozen items we were looking for so that we could upgrade a few things. I am always sent over to the service department, where I have to leave a message. Every time. And no one has ever called me back. Not once. I call-give them a few days to a week to respond-and call again. Nothing. It's really disappointing. When we purchased our RV the service department then was truly awesome! They answered questions, made recommendations, and were actually part of the pretty epic purchase experience. I do have to say that them NOT responding to a call about an awning upgrade led us to find a really great shop here in Lompoc who will do the awning upgrade/install. And we will recommend anyone in the area looking for service and repairs to this new shop. read more

We recently purchased a 5th wheel trailer from Trailer Hitch RV. The service we received was outstanding. We especially want to thank Preston for his detailed orientation. RVing is new to us, so we had a lot to learn about the many features of our 5th wheel. Grand design trailers sell themselves. Salesman (Erik) pitched us accommodations & guaranteed repairs for pick up. Pick up information was incorrect & repairs were not complete. July 1st - picked up *new* trailer. July 22nd dropped off for first warranty repairs (slide skid plastic torn, dust cap- which had been broken since purchase, rear entry door striker plate, indoor trim work). October 30th- our trailer is finally "ready" for pick up. After months of POOR communication, pushing back our "repair" date, ordering the wrong parts (then going on back order). At pick up, Steve from the service dept literally scrambled to quickly "repair" our dust cap before we walked through. Then they ignored our request when we explained it needed to replaced not just put back on. Drove it 15 miles & surprise, it is in the same broken condition. Not repaired. Finally hauling our trailer home. We will fix it ourselves. I do not recommend Trailer Hitch to anyone- sales or service. I am sharing this because I wish I would have known before buying here. Responsiveness is lacking to say the least. Attention to and nurturing of the customer needs major improvement. They might be understaffed, but when spending thousands of dollars on a unit, this should be remedied. Service is literally 4 to 6 months out to get units in for repairs, they should sub contract out someone to get their customers taken care of. You're asking me what could improve ? Everything, but mostly Service, respect to customers, appreciate customers, honesty, responsibility, and dependability. We bought our 2025 Forest River RV back in April, I believe. I do identify with Ericka M. in everything she wrote in her review and some others that had an unpleasant experience also. When we thought about buying an RV we did go and shop Sky River RV Center but unfortunately at that time they didn't have two master bedroom RVs and that's what we were looking for. That's when we had to go to Trailer Hitch RV. Since the beginning even throughout the waiting of the RV to arrived we started having difficulties. By the way we put a $1000 deposit. After finally getting the RV, we went back to the service department for the many problems we found on the trailer to be fixed. That was back in April, by August we were still struggling to get our RV repair. Finally I decided to go outside of their business and contacted the Forest River Factory. I inquired about us taking the RV somewhere else other than Trailer Hitch RV to what they said it was OK to do it. We took it to Sky River RV Center and to our amazement we encounter the most wonderful business around this area. We took the RV there around August 18th and when we first move the RV to take it to Sky River RV Center a river of water came from underneath the RV (I do have a video to prove it) because all those struggling months waiting for Trailer Hitch RV to take responsibility. Sky River RV Center returned the RV to us very well and conscientiously fixed a week ago. Everything was fixed in less than three weeks. They showed us respect as customers, appreciation as customers, they were dependable, honest and responsible. I didn't have to chase the service department manager or others. I took the time to write this review not because of the way we were treated there and the poor service they have, that's their business. I am writing this review for those of you who are in the process of looking into buying an RV. And as a customer, I'm letting you know my experience, hoping that you will not go through what we went through. Oh, and by the way, no one from the Trailer Hitch RV has had the courtesy or decency to called and follow up on us as customers regarding our RV being fixed. Worst Service ever! We bought our Grand Design here new and have had nothing but problems with the service department. I'm in touch with Grand Design, who keeps records of the warranty work, dates, requests, parts that are ordered, etc. and Trailer Hitch has not been truthful during both service visits when giving us reasons for delays. They've unnecessarily kept our RV for months at a time for Warranty work, blaming Grand Design... when in fact they are the ones who didn't respond to GD with photos or information requested to complete the warranty claim. You can't get people to call you back and when you reach someone, they're usually new (because they don't seem to retain employees) or they're extremely rude. I just got off the phone with the service department as our RV has been there for OVER 4 MONTHS for repeat warranty issues and the gentleman I spoke with said he has no idea what is going on with the repairs. MORE THAN FOUR MONTHS!!! And the last time it was there MORE THAN THREE MONTHS. THIS SHOULD GE CONSIDERED CRIMINAL! Two years in a row we have missed out on the best time of year to use our toy hauler and are beyond disgusted. The service associate didn't even know where our RV is at the moment, but said he'd find it and have it brought over to the service lot... WTH??? This seems criminal in my opinion and needs to be escalated. read more

Well, back to my original one star. Their first response is ALWAYS "You're out of warranty". This is never true, but they never check, this is just their go-to response in the hopes that you will go away. It takes a further 4-10 emails - with 4-10 rude, unprofessional responses from Chris - and finally the threat of legal action just to get even a simple service appointment booked. I just wish they would put 1/10th as much energy into getting the actual repairs done as they do into trying to get out of having to do it. read more

Last year we called this facility to ask if and when they could do a slide out repair on our Jayco 5th wheel. They said bring it in 2 days, which we did. It was indicated to us that they'd get to it by the end of that week(we dropped it off on Monday). And they would let us know the issue and repair time. By Wednesday the following week we'd not heard from them so I called. We were told that by Friday they'd have an answer and call/text or email us. Friday came and went and no contact from them. Long story short, they had our trailer for almost 5 months and we had to cancel all of our vacations. They were not sympathetic at all. We would not recommend anyone use this service center for repairs. read more
