Hands down the best workout! As a woman in her 50's I have never felt stronger or healthier. Look Forward to every workout.

Took a 75 minute Sunday morning class here called Root Aroma Vin/Yin Yoga. According to the…read morewebsite: "Enjoy the best of both worlds! A balanced practice - half vinyasa and half yin yoga. CTPG essential oils to enhance your connection to the mind, body and breath. Different essential oils will be used each week to compliment the postures being guided. All levels welcome." The check-in process was easy, they had us do it ourselves on their mini screen. The instructor noted that I was new to their space and went out of her way to welcome me, ask if I had ever practiced yoga before, give me a consent card for yes/no regarding hands-on assists during class, explain that the oils are self applied beforehand. The class itself was a pleasant way to spend a rainy Sunday morning. Big windows let a lot of light into the space even on gray days. This class in particular to me felt both a) more like just a normal vinyasa class with some cool down poses, and b) also like a mini workshop what with the oracle cards and assists and perfectly paced music. For just $18! Don't miss out local, friends. The instructor was okay; admittedly she missed a few poses in her sequences from side to side and she seemed to linger around me specifically when emphasizing particular cues (maybe she didn't trust that this wasn't my first class?). Her assists were lovely reiki like touches, but also maybe a little too overcorrective in spots. Bummer that their cafe wasn't open when I visited. It seems like one of the few options in Muskegon for vegan eats. I was hoping to load up on immunity shots, smoothies, avocado toast, and tempeh/chickpea wraps for my hotel room. Maybe next time.

Ambiance was nice, but food and drinks were WAYYY to expensive. Ordered 2 smoothies, why is it over…read more$20?? Took way too long to receive our smoothies and the sizes were so small. The employees were chatting away, which isn't an issue but if you're taking over 10 minutes to make a smoothie, like come on. Never eating here again. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I've been a Planet Fitness member for over three years and frequently travel for work, so I visit…read moremany different locations. Unfortunately, the Muskegon location has been by far the most unwelcoming experience I've had. My pregnant fiancée and I have stopped by this gym a few times recently, and every time we've encountered a level of rudeness and attitude from certain staff members that's honestly baffling. On our first visit, we came in carrying our large gym bags and wearing Crocs, fully intending to change into our sneakers once we got situated. An employee (a heavier-set woman) gave us an immediate attitude, rolling her eyes and sarcastically asking, "Do you have sneakers? Those aren't permitted." We calmly explained that we did have sneakers in our bag, but the interaction was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional -- especially since we were polite and respectful. Another time, we went to use the massage chairs -- we share a Black Card membership and usually go to the gym together. I stepped out to the car quickly while my fiancée reserved us a spot. When I came back, he told me staff made a scene about how only Black Card holders were allowed in the massage area, even though I was just waiting for him -- not using the chair. An employee (one who looks like a Justin Bieber lookalike) rushed into the massage area and told him that I couldn't be in there at all. It was embarrassing, unnecessary, and felt more like a power trip than a policy being enforced. We've never experienced this kind of treatment at any other Planet Fitness. We always come in with respect and good energy, and it's disappointing to be treated like a problem just for showing up. I don't recommend this location -- not because of the gym itself, but because of how the staff chooses to treat people. If you're in the area, consider visiting another PF location where customer service actually matches the "Judgment Free Zone" slogan.

Very unimpressed. My roommate was given the runaround when she tried to sign up for a free 30-day…read moretrial, but I thought I would check it out when I was notified that I won a free 2-year membership! All their marketings gimmicks are a sham. My free 2-year membership was either a limited access (both limited hours and equipment) plan for a small monthly maintenance fee or a larger monthly maintenance fee for a full-access membership. So much for the free membership I won... On the upside, if you're looking for a good gym in the area that won't break the bank, I might suggest them. Just don't expect to do a free trial or cancel without a hassle!

This place is run by some shady MFers. Check out reviews of the Grand Rapids and Wyoming branches…read moreof this chain and it should serve as a glimpse of what the reviews will look like in Muskegon within a few months. I called this place a few weeks back, and a really obnoxious guy told me on the phone that he couldn't tell me the prices because he was "just too busy to have a long conversation," and I should come in for a tour. I declined on account of his attitude, but next time I was in the area did a drive-by. THE PLACE WAS EMPTY. As in, completely lacking equipment. I'm not sure exactly what I would have been touring. I wrote the place off. Then... some coupons came in the mail for a really good deal. I thought, well, I can deal with Turd Ferguson's sales pitch, since the deal is pretty good. So I called again. A different person answered the phone, and when I asked about the coupon she said I would need to visit in person for a tour because they just have so many options and plans she doesn't have time to go over them on the phone. I am really mystified by the fact that these people have serious time crunches that prohibit answering ONE question on the phone, yet they are lousy with time slots for in-person tours.
