We went to a different office previously and we wished we would've started here. From the staff to Dr. Ong himself, what a difference from the other office! I will share our experience so hopefully I save someone else some hassle. I will update this review with his knee surgery results periodically. Any negative reviews I saw about this office, were about the doctor's bedside manner. We actually LOVED his straightforward bedside manner. We aren't here to find a bestie. We need a knowledgeable doctor that knows his stuff, who will perform a detailed surgery with incredible results. Upon leaving our first visit with Dr. Ong, my husband expressed how much more confidence he has with Dr. Ong than he ever felt with the other doctor. He didn't get the car salesman feel like we did at the other office. We didn't feel like just a number ( or just a dollar sign $$$) but we actually felt this office cared. My husband has a complete ACL tear among other knee tears. His work won't let him go back to work until he gets his knee repaired - which would be great IF he was getting paid. His FMLA only saves his job for 3 months. Trying the other office first, they wasted FIVE WEEKS of his recovery time with only an MRI to show from it. Next I will compare Dr. Ong's office with Advanced Orthopedics. ONG'S OFFICE: You call- and just imagine, someone answers! OTHER OFFICE: Waiting on hold for 30 minutes before you go to voicemail OR worse yet, waiting on hold 30 minutes before they hang up on you so you have to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes. ONG'S OFFICE: He listens to what happened to cause your injury, answers your questions and then gets down to business. He does a thorough exam, explains your findings while showing your MRI imaging and uses a knee model to give a detailed explanation of what's wrong and what needs to be done. OTHER OFFICE: You see two other trainees before you see the doctor. The doctor comes in, tells a joke. Touches your knee and stays they'll start working on prior authorization. ONG'S OFFICE: "We'll have this request in by tomorrow. My name is Myra if you have any questions..." OTHER OFFICE: "It's not turned in yet. We'll get that done within the next 7-10 business days for a prior authorization request." ONG'S OFFICE: "Where would you like your FMLA paperwork sent to? I can CC you on it as well." OTHER OFFICE: "Your FMLA paperwork will be completed in 7-10 days. We don't email paperwork. You'll have to come pick it up."

Ok, wow He must be really busy today. He offered me an injection to see if it might help as I was still working. That didn't help but for a few days. Made another appt, and mind you my co-pays are $55.00 each visit. 2nd appt, he gave me a different type of injection. That too didn't help too well, but a little. I'm 67, and knowing I need a replacement, as he told me last visit that's the ONLY thing that will really help me, I made a 3rd appt to get it going for the surgery. MY MOUTH FELL TO THE FLOOR WHEN HE TOLD ME I HAVE TO WAIT 3 MONTHS AFTER INJECTIONS TO GET THE SURGERY! He never..ever told me this! I was now off work on disability. I started to tear up a little, I was shocked he didn't tell me. I told him, you never told me this!! His reply was...It's pretty standard knowledge. Well...obviously not as I didn't know! Asked him what am I supposed to do now, I'm off work. He then just shrugged his shoulders, saying..I don't know. Shrug your shoulders??? How unprofessional can you get? As I'm now twiddling my thumbs for 3 months, I found a different Dr, but after 3 months are up, I'm not getting and type of disability payments from my work for 30 days, then my long term disability kicks in. 30 days with no pay!!! I can't afford that. But I'm stuck!! Had he told me before he gave me those injections, that I would have to wait 3 months, i would not have had the injections, because my main reason for seeing him was to get the surgery over with, as I'm not getting any younger!! He doesnt take the time to educate or inform his patients about anything! Didn't say if I should stay off my knee, do I walk, do exercises, use ice, use heat...maybe physical therapy. Nothing!!! Just prescribed me medication. Horrible on giving us the time we deserve and tell us what the hell is going on!! Now I get an email from his office as he's no longer in practice. I wonder why. Very fishy practice...

The goals of knee replacement would be restoration of ability to walk at the lowest level of pain…read more Like most medical procedures, knee replacement surgery is not completely pain free. Results vary by individual. Dr. Brian Carr's goal is to minimize pain using current technologies. Before surgery, he uses Iovera. In my words, this involves temporarily "deadening" nerves above and below the knee. This lessens pain for 3+ months. Results vary by individual. On the day of surgery, Dr. Carr uses a nerve block. This nerve block almost eliminates any pain for 1-3 days. Dr. Carr uses computer assisted surgery making for more precise incisions, and better post-surgery results. After surgery, Dr. Carr takes an aggressive approach to combating pain. I am currently 3 weeks post-surgery. My wife and friends are amazed at my progress. I have experienced relatively little pain. I recommend Dr. Carr and his staff without reservation. If your orthopedic surgeon is not using Iovera, you are/will be experiencing unnecessary pain.

We're preparing for a hip replacement surgery and were hesitant to try a new doctor since the last surgery went well. But from the moment we walked in, everything just clicked. The front desk team was friendly, the entire process was smooth, and every step was explained clearly. Then we met Dr. Carr. All I can say is -- this guy takes his time. He sat down with us, answered every question, and never made us feel rushed. He's calm, confident, super chill, and just a genuinely nice person. No, he's not my brother -- but he's the kind of doctor you wish was family. To top it off, he's also an Army veteran. That tells you a lot about his character and discipline. If you're looking for an orthopedic surgeon who knows his stuff, takes his time, and actually cares about his patients -- Dr. Carr is your man. Highly recommend.

No appointment necessary. Perfect! Or so I thought. I came in on crutches, barely able to put weight on one leg. The waiting area is not wide enough for someone on crutches to get to a chair. There were two staff members behind the glass. They both looked like they were having a rough day and the office had just opened. No greeting. Just a look. Not a welcoming one. Eventually I was called up to the window and asked if I had an appointment. My reply..."No. I thought this was a walk in clinic". The woman who was speaking to me asked a few more questions about insurance, then told me the system was down and to go have a seat. Once again I had to hobble down the very narrow aisle carrying my crutches while limping back to my seat. I felt bad for these stressed out ladies working behind the desk. However, it seemed that no one had any regard for me or any of the other patients waiting to be seen for acute injuries. I left this "clinic" and headed to UMC quick care where I was treated with an exceptional level of care. I don't recommend this "Fast Track Clinic". Two stars is generous.

They put me on massive amounts of narcotics and left the meds in the pump for 6 more months. I ended up in ICU from the pump overdosing me. They STILL left the meds in the pump. Then Dr Kim dropped me abruptly (not titrating me off of the massive amount of drugs). I almost died from the withdrawal, so in my opinion I would NOT GO TO THEM for anything. Any Dr that treats a patient like that shouldn't be seeing ANY patients. Good luck.

The receptionist saw me thru the window as I slowly & painfully made my way to the door. As soon as I walked in she greeted me by name & told me to take a seat as she would bring the paperwork to me. Within 10 minutes I was taken in. The med assistant was very personable & professional. After a couple of xrays I was set up in a room. Dr Yu entered a minute later. Introduced himself which docs rarely do in this town. Examined the knee, asked some questions & drained the fluid. I am able to walk again. Hooray! Even better, Carlos called me a few hours later to let me know the lab results were negative for infection. See that? It is possible to be a great doc, have a great staff & treat patients well.
