Along the right wall is a row of cabinets with glass display shelves with antique toys. Many of them are in a condition that you can tell they were played with. In the back, there are workrooms (not open to the public) where the staff can work on restoring pieces that have been brought in. If you are looking to buy the latest game or fad that kids are after, this isn't the place to go looking. They seem to have a larger focus on trading cards and accessories than board games and puzzles, the latter of which I'm most interested in. If I wanted a specific game, I'd likely go to their website first to check stock or order ahead rather than visiting in-store. From registration to the final round, everything was organized, on time, and genuinely fun. No chaos, no dark side rulings, just solid event management. The Magic community here is strong. Friendly players, good vibes, and a welcoming atmosphere whether you're a veteran Jedi or still figuring out which lands to tap. HobbyTown is a franchised retail toy/hobby store with over 100 locations nationwide including three in Indiana (Granger and Evansville also have one). It's based in Nebraska. HobbyTown has a bit of a retro vibe, craft store meets hardware store meets toys like RC vehicles, RC aircraft, models, toys, games, learning toys, arts and crafts, and trains. I would probably describe myself as a wannabe hobbyist. I found myself completely captivated by the trains, RC options, and some of the models. I loved models as a kid - I was lousy at putting them together, but I really enjoyed it. They also had more board games than I expected. Parking here is pretty easy. It's not the most accessible building, however, it's not far from Concentra with a great curb cut. The store itself was pretty easy to get around, though aisles are occasionally a bit crowded. I had no difficulty and found the place friendly and helpful. The prices are pretty consistent with other hobby/toy shops. Yes, you can spend a lot here. For sure. You can also find affordable hobby options and gift options. A five-star might be a tad generous, however, I really liked the place and loved the variety of toys and hobbies. It also a perfect shop for pop culture fans. I love the selection of new and old comic books that I can find (such as Marvel, DC, Image, IDW, etc.), the good customer service I can provide, how much any of the comics cost, and everything else that makes it fun to visit! I sure hope a next comic shop will be my second favorite like Comic Carnival!
