Food was very flavorful and pricing was great. Owners were very receptive and sweet. Everything we tried was A+, it had great seasoning and flavor had depth to it. As an added bonus, the facilities were clean. read more

Ate our meal which was ok, but there were some unsavory looking shady people around. While sitting there our backpack was stolen from under the table which had our passports. This nearly ruined our trip. Be very careful of this area. I asked the business for help and perhaps due to the language barrier they didn't seem to care. Or my other theory is they are in on it but I can't be 100% sure, but the culprits we believe stole it were just sitting there all night and hanging out with the 4 people running the place. I just have to remember that you reap what you sew and those responsible will pay in the end. Please be very very careful in this area. Don't let your bags out of your sight. We sat on the tables that were where our backs were to the outside as the door stays open while they are open. I used my backpack tracking device and it's last ping was while it was with us at the restaurant then it was gone. They must have searched the bag first, found it and broke it. They are very good at what they do.

Oliver and his wife did an amazing job from the set up, the picnic, the proposal and the photographs. I had no idea that my boyfriend was planning to propose, and he lead me to a park near the Eiffel tower for a "surprise" dinner and there was a beautiful picnic setting with the Eiffel tower as the backdrop. Oliver was there with his camera in hand laying on the grass to secretly take the photos as my boyfriend proposed ! The layout of the picnic was amazing. It had a traditional picnic basket with all these delicious goodies such as ratatouille, pate with bread, chicken, market salad, strawberries, whipped cream, grapes. They also provided a champagne bottle and glasses for us to drink and celebrate our engagement, as well as beautiful bouquet of white roses, balloons, and more! Throughout this, Oliver was taking photos of us celebrating. The food was amazing. We had such a fun time celebrating and eating the delicious spread that was prepared for us ! After we were finished eating, Oliver came back to take more photos at sunset. Although it was a little cloudy, he still did a great job shooting us. He was so encouraging since we were nervous and all jittery from just recently getting engaged and made us feel at ease. Unfortunately we had to cut our time short since we had reservations to go up to the Eiffel tower. Within 2 days, Oliver had sent us copies of the photos to review. The package that my boyfriend got came with 15 photos, and about 15 euros per extra photos. We had about 75 photos to choose from, and we probably would have had more if we had more time (which was on our bad). However Oliver was so sweet to throw in extra photos for us for free. Oliver & his wife were so personable and we felt so at ease with them! Love picnic parks was a great and definitely memorable way for my BF to propose, and I'm so happy he did it with this company!

Chez Heang, also known as Barbecue de Seoul according to the banner hanging out side the…read morerestaurant, is one of those Korean BBQ restaurants where you grill your own meats. This restaurant is located on the busy rue de la Roquette next to La Bastille. At first glance, I was a bit wary, since the restaurant was almost empty except for two couples. However, it was a bit early on in the night and that didn't deter me from checking out this Korean BBQ joint. We ordered menus that came along with small salads and rice. One menu was just beef slices, and the other was beef with an assortment of seafood. I was happy to see that they don't skimp on the meat, as I've seen at other Korean BBQ restaurants in Paris where the beef is sliced so thinly that you can nearly see through it. Though a bit pricey, the service was spot on. Next time I plan to try their hot pot, or perhaps the bibimbap.

This time I decided to try something different, and was not at all disappointed. Since summer is coming up soon, I've been trying to stay away from heavy, greasy food (the Parisian weather hasn't been very helpful though). Having become tired of salads, I found the best solution at Chez Heang - chicken breast marinated with citronelle sauce, topped with veggies on the side. It's not super cheap, neither is it super generous, but you can take your time to grill your own meat and veggies. When you're done, you'll definitely feel satiated. Only downside: your clothes (and hair) will most certainly reek of barbecue afterwards.

Overall, this is a clean, no-frills hotel that is good for a budget traveler. It's not the Ritz,…read morebut it works. On the plus side, you can't get a better location. You're a few minutes' walk from the Eiffel tower and many other sights and museums, and short cab/public transit rides away from others. While the building is clearly old, they have updated the bathrooms relatively recently with new fixtures and tile, along with some of the decor and furniture. The room is clean, the AC blows cold air, and there is free Wifi. So this hotel really nails the basic minimums. And by basic I mean very basic. On the negative side, there aren't a lot of amenities--no fridge, no breakfast, no iron, a closet so small I would hesitate to call it a closet. There is a carafe for boiling water along with some tea and instant coffee...again, basic minimums. And for some reason during the entirety of my stay the lobby smelled like garbage. I don't mean that as a metaphor for it smelling bad, it literally smelled like when you walk past a dumpster on a hot day. The room is teeny tiny. Like hilariously tiny--it's the size you expect in a dense metro area like Paris, London, or New York. The single elevator is small as well and of course slow. While much of the room was recently updated or remodeled, some elements, namely the worn, red carpeting, show the building's age a bit. So, it's not perfect, but it definitely has it's advantages!

Horrified, I ran to the reception. Since I didn't want to go back to that room, they offered me another one on the top floor where the air conditioning motors made a terrible noise. I demanded that they refund the payment for the rest of the days that I had to pay in advance for my entire stay so that I could go to another hotel. I did not get any response for two days. They didn't leave any choice but to go to the police. The following day after reporting what happened to the police, I received a refund for the remaining days. There were no apologies for the demeaning situation, or for having been forced to waste time and money looking for another hotel in season. Before the police they "justified themselves" saying that the intruder was an employee from the hotel who came to fix something in the room. What he did in my bathroom is another story. No one took responsibility for what happened. Even some hotel staff found the situation funny. That shows the complete lack of responsibility and sensibility from the management

I'd give it a 2.5 if I could. But safety is a huge factor for me. We booked this hotel in a package offered by Euerostar. It was prepaid. We arrived to a small lobby that looked nothing like the photos. I should say right away. The photos are photo shopped or something. This place is NOTHING like the photos they show. We immediately didn't feel safe in the area. This is not a safe area of the city. (We were later told by locals) we knew it. We could feel it. I was already visiting a foreign country. I needed to feel safe in my hotel. The man was nice and checked us in. He advised us that when its dark outside he has to lock the door for safety. So if we wanted to leave or come back late we'd need to call from the front desk so he could come let us out. This made me uncomfortable. Our room was on the 3rd or 4th floor I dont recall exactly. This is probably because of the panic attack I had on the elevator. We had only brought 1 small carry on suitcase thankfully because the elevator was so tiny that I had to be pressed into my husband's chest for the door to shut. This is no exaggeration at all. I never took the elevator again. I literally could not. The room was small and the bedding looked clean. The room was very basic. Which would have been fine had it not been for the other issues. We dropped our stuff and were excited to get out and about in Paris. As we left we had to take the stairs which were dark and had no lighting. We were literally uncomfortable every second we were in this hotel. We stopped at the front desk to ask about how to access public transportation. There was Noone there so I picked up the phone to call. No answer. We just left and found another hotel. We returned the key and told the man we didnt feel safe and wouldn't be staying. The hotel did not refund any of our money. I think they should have refunded at least 1 night since we paid for 2 but never even stayed 1 night. I just had to be ok with that because I could have never felt safe or slept well there.
