I have been coming here since 2003, and find it to be one of the lovelier parks I have seen in this or any other country. Its grounds border places such as Siamsa Tire and the Kerry County Museum. At the south end is a stretch of the original castle wall of Tralee.
A garden of the senses is found on the north side of the park, but the major attraction here is an enormous rose garden. If you visit the park in late April or early May, you will see the first Rose of Tralee. Also, there is a large selection of very mature trees. In my most recent visit in 2017, I found this to be an absolute Mecca for a photographer. It is popular, but there is so much space that you never feel crowded in. read more
