They not only quoted me the cheapest price in the area, but have gone ABOVE AND BEYOND during the service. I had to leave my car behind and get home, so I've been dealing with it from afar and they've been amazing every step of the way. They even helped me tow the car! I have been informed during every step of the process of replacing the transmission, including pictures of it being worked on. Leaving the car behind was so stressful, but once it was at Gene's I have been so at ease. Every phone call has helped ease my nerves, they are very calm in explaining everything in detail that even non car people like myself can understand. Replacing the transmission has been the most expensive thing I've ever done to my car, so I can't even explain how much it's meant to be so informed about everything they're doing. My gf went in and told him about it, " she said who ever pulled his car out there hit a metal gate" he said NO they didnt...she told him" a pic says 1000 words and I have alot of pics!" He walked out and looked at it and apologized said his grandson (employee) drove it into the fence and the he would pay for the damages...this had been going on now since October and he has been avoiding us not wanting to pay now for the damage that happened, we went to his shop and he tried sneaking out the back....We had a local auto body shop owner go to Gene's and look at the damage. We all agreed that we would go with that particular body shops estimate and that Gene would take care of the damage. Since then Gene Horton has done everything from lie to us to running away in his truck. Now we have to get insurance companies, police and possibly an attorney just to fix a few hundred dollars worth of damage. So if you want your car NOT to be fixed properly or if you want it damaged take it to Gene's Transmission in Quincy IL...guaranteed they will f@#k it up GOOD!

Today was the 2nd time something like this happened out there. I took my 03 pickup in yesterday and told Kevin I think the starter is going out. He called this morning and said they pulled it in, looked at it and found the nut holding the power cable on had backed off just enough to lose connection intermittently. They could have just stuck a new starter on and charged $300 or $400. They charged a half hour labor and handed the key back with a smile. It's stuff like that that keeps folks coming back. I wish they worked on boats too. I can't express to you how highly I recommend these guys.

Going back to the reason for this post - one of the tires only a year old at this point, had a flat last night. I plugged it and it still didn't hold air. The area around the hole was bulging. Today I just went to Walmart to get a new tire. I asked for the old old back and when i looked inside where I plugged it THERE WAS ALREADY A PATCH inside the brand new tire!!!
