This is by far the best auto shop in Quincy. The customer service is absolutely amazing. I won't take my care anywhere else!

As if the situation wasn't already crappy enough, this was the only key I had to my car. After searching the Internet tirelessly, it seemed I only had two choices to get my car running again. Choice #1: Have my car towed to the nearest dealership. Choice #2: Find a locksmith that not only had the equipment to program the computer chip in the fob, but that was also willing to come to where my car was. The closest dealership happened to be in Springfield and I was in a small river town in Iowa. Choice 1 was going to get expensive fast! Choice 2 seemed to be the best option but the locksmith in my town didn't have the equipment to program the chip. So back to the Internet I went and there I found A-1 Security & Lock Service in Quincy. Not only were they willing to make the 45 minute drive to me, they had the equipment to cut a new key and program the computer chip as well!! It actually took less that 45 minutes! They were professional and didn't charge me an arm and a leg for their services. The situation I was in could easily have cost me some SERIOUS CASH! In upwards of $500 or even more. With their cost of $1 a mile and cutting 2 new keys and programming them I spent $190. However I did purchase the 2 key blanks with blank computer chips in them from Amazon which I do not suggest doing. There is a chance that the aftermarket key you purchase from the Internet will not program. Then you will be left with a useless key and the charges for A-1's services and the amount of purchasing another key that will work. A-1 is able to get the key you need, so just buy yours from them. I got lucky that mine did work. A-1 was professional, on time and like superheroes to me in my situation. I hope this review can help someone out there in the same situation because I know there are others out there trying to figure out what to do.

I bought the other parts and went a much more reputable mechanic and was told none of the parts needed replacing. Since I had the parts already I had them replaced anyway. Going back to the reason for this post - one of the tires only a year old at this point, had a flat last night. I plugged it and it still didn't hold air. The area around the hole was bulging. Today I just went to Walmart to get a new tire. I asked for the old old back and when i looked inside where I plugged it THERE WAS ALREADY A PATCH inside the brand new tire!!! So Dan's sold me used/repaired tires as NEW!

We reserved a 10 ft. truck and tow dolly here for a one way rental. They called to inform that the…read moreonly 10 ft. came back damaged and offered a 15 ft. if we pay the extra tax for it. Ok, we absorbed that. When we went to pick it up, they were slow as molasses in January. Took almost an hour to process paperwork. Wouldn't allow a walk around inspection prior to signing. They connected the dolly while we were in office doing paperwork and informed that all was ready to go with special emphasis that lights on dolly work fine. Our mistake for not verifying this. If Canes do auto repair like they rent trucks- be fearful. At this point, I wouldn't let a kid take a bike tire to be aired up- they might mess that up too. Got truck loaded and car on dolly, didn't even make it 10 miles and was informed that tail light on passenger side of dolly was out. Called 800 # after hours and was told where to take it for service. Had to stay in motel after only 2 hrs. down the road. Took the service people 6 hours to repair- bad wiring harness on truck as well as dolly. Got a very late start on second day of trip and ended up driving all night to destination, through heavy storms. Finally get there and start unloading and found that truck box had bad leak and soaked the mattress- unusable. Haven't checked for hidden water damage yet. Will see where this all ends up, but will inform family back home to spread the word not to do any business; U-Haul or auto repair, either one; with any of the LIARS at Canes Automotive. U-Haul home office didn't agree to compensate for motel so short into trip due to their JUNK equipment. Watch their agreements, they will sure charge you if over miles, late return, wrong return location, fuel level at return, and various one sided terms. Once you sign, it's oh well, good luck- unless you violate one of their terms. Have used Budget, Ryder, and Penske in past with no issues. Tried to save $50.00 with U-Haul, but they burned me. Will never rent from U-Haul ever again.

Eric took ownership of my extensive problems with a dud car known as 2025 Honda CRV hybrid. Bad fuel injectors, crack in piston and more sent this car to the shop several times for many days. Do not recommend this car. I do recommend Eric. He is top notch. He kept me informed almost daily of the car repair status. He really took it upon himself to take care of me. I cannot speak for the rest of the repair staff but Eric shines! FOLLOWUP: In order to rid ourself of further problems with the 2025, we traded it for a 2026 CRV based on reports that the 2026 was a much better car not beset by the 2025 problems. We dealt with Kunes again. Pleased to report they gave us a fair deal on the trade. I say fair becuse they knocked a few hundred bucks off the MSRP which is about all you can expect on a high demand car like the CRV.The sales rep, BEN, was topnotch. He was professional. No pressure. Process went smoothly. I don't fault Kunes for the manufacturing errors. We drove away happy and hopeful. Thanks BEN for your assistance

Regretfully purchased from kunes on 6/11. I was refused my paperwork, despite asking many times. I…read moredidn't receive it until 22 days later on July 3rd. The 11 pages of this contract I was given was very different than what was negotiated prior to going to financing. I called the lender to dispute the details of what I was given. Imagine my surprise when the lender said there's a 25 page contract. The lender immediately sent it to me. And that paperwork was completely different than the numbers I was given as my copy. The loan amount was inflated to have me on the hook for over $42,000. There was a $499 key replacement charge I was never told about and the contact info on that paper was changed to someone else's but had my name. The amount they said I make was higher than I actually make. There was also a $99 theft deterrent e-contracting charge, and a $1200 gap insurance charge snuck in... In fact, the finance manager Andrew Harris had changed a lot of this contract down to forging my signature and using the initials AP instead of AM. On 6/20 there were parts updated and signed with a time stamp of 6/20 5:55pm. Now that would prove impossible for me to have done as I was clocked in at work over an hour away.. I did raise concerns to Kunes over it... A Sales manager emailed me and stated "As a direct result of my paperwork Andrew is no longer with the company, so if Id like to come back in I wouldn't have to see him". Ever since then I get daily ssn tracker alerts associated with different address, names and numbers... I can't help but think of how many this may have also happened to... ***Make sure to double check your paperwork with what the lender has. *** Mine did not match and even had different phone numbers as contact info on me for a key replacement I never wanted or asked about. And documents were electronically signed and time stamped on 6/20 at 5:55pm when I was over an hour away clocked in at work my visit to the dealership was on 6/11. These business practices need looked into. To make sure no one else's name has been forged unknowingly, loan applications falsified to obtain a loan, and fraudently obtaining wire transfers to collect on loans. Josh Bock was probably the only person there that wasn't a complete scum bag. James Storey - POS Andrew Harris - POS Brad Bunch - You should never withhold things in exchange for a good Google review verse doing what you know is right.
