This company is scam, be careful people they stolen my money, they took advantage of me, in 2023 I was ill, I had ptsd, my blood pressure was always high, most of the time, I was depressed, I found a lady on Facebook who lied to me about all this messy company, first of all, I'm not a Spanish person, and that time she wasn't able to speak English, am African descendant, during the conversation was in Spanish without interpreted even knowing that I wasn't fully understanding, she sold me policy saying that was all so good, I told her that I was sick she said that wasn't any problem and in addition I would of have help because I have chronic disease that is high blood pressure, she was worried about my money, they started ripping me off, and 2024, I ended up in the determination under immigration custody, 1 year detained without being able to stop them from taking my money, I ended up being deported back to my country, when I went to see my account there was no money, they sold me a policy of $500 per month, to call their customer service sucks, was just eating my airtime, and whenever I had a chance to talk to someone they told me I can't have my money back, when they know that they collected my money the amount of $10.000. Turns out I started chatting with a lady who did all that evil plan she gave me instructions that weren't even in my favor, and lately started to ignore my messages even ghosted me. On another hand I tried so hard until got connected to someone, I told her that I needed a lawyer because I can't loose $10.000 for nothing, she said even if I try am not gonna win because the company is so big and they have they lawyers, I felt threatened and discouraged to find for a justice, another occasion I send emails that I was answered negatively, and they showed me a signatures that isn't mine about the whole policy wich is illegal, and when I questioned they said that was automatic, so how could someone be given automatic signature without they knowing? Are they attorneys protecting people like them knowing that what they are doing is illegal? I don't know what to do I wish there was someone to help me out with this situation, this people aren't trustworthy playing with people life and money, taking my money that I worked so hard when I was in the united states, they sent me papers to fill them out, to only give me, $3000, what about the remaining amount? If someone is out there who knows about law I would like to have a legal representation, for the lies that I was told, for taking my money in my absence, for emotional damage, I need justice to be served to these people, I know that they told me that they have strong attorneys who protect their bad conduct. I had an uncle who got insurance, and they deceived him. He believed what policy he had would pay out upon his death. The worst part is that they deceived a mentally disabled person. He didn't understand what he was signing. He paid a lot of money since 2003, then they got him to include sign another policy in 2005. Then, again in 2005, they got him to sign another policy. They took advantage of an elderly and mentally disabled man. If you have someone who has Transamerica, have them cancel their policy asap. read more

If incompedence in customer service was an Oscar category Transamerica would win the Gold. Unlike Vanguard where I can securely withdraw funds in less than a minute, and receive a check in 4-5 day. T/A requires an 8 page be filled out, faxed in , and then wait for 7-10 days to receive the check. Needless to say I would discourage anyone from using T/A. Glen Ellyn Mike read more

i wouldn't even give this disgrace of an"insurance company" 1 star! please do not even do business with any of these people if you want to have a payout for your life insurance because they lie about their policies and to take everything and leave you to high and dry with nothing left over. these people ruined our lives and i'm warning you now do not waste your time with these people. unless you want milk to drive with nothing left over!!! read more

Negative stars if I could. This company is a fraudulent scamming shady shiesty business. Since October 2023 I have been lied to about my father's death payout from his insurance policy. They have lied so many times about what was wrong with my paperwork, saying the emailed or mailed me when they never did, then now it's an excuse of an "internal" computer issue that won't pay out my claim to me. I have filed complaints with the BBB and it seems transamerica pays them off to close the case with no response from them. I will be seeking legal advice and seeking out the news stations in Cedar Rapids, to expose this god awful scamming company. I need my payout to have closure from loosing my father and this is awful, what they put grieving people through. I'm not the only one either. You check their reviews on multiple sites it's the same issues with everyone. It's pathetic that this is how a company operates, especially with those who just lost a loved one. You can't ever get a supervisor, they disconnect your call when you ask for one, they can't ever give you a straight answer to any question either. I was told today by a "supervisor" that a check was printed January 23rd, but can't confirm if it was finally sent or not. My re-opened complaint with BBB had a response stating they'd let me know when they have answers to my claim. They had the policy number so why didn't they confirm at that time any info about the check? It's a scamming company. They do anything they can to delay the payout owed to the beneficiary, they lie about everything, and they hang up on you when you question their motives. Zero stars a financial institution that can't handle paperwork. I've been trying to get a fund distributed for 3 weeks everything I send my paper work in something is wrong. I talked to 5 reps all gave me different stories They tell me it's fine then it's not then it's processing then it's not. Then tell me it's all done. Then tell me it's not. I get garunteed things are good that I will get my money in one day then say it's canceled absolute shifters stay away. read more

Vanguard Variable Annuities was transferred to Transamerica in early 2021. My investments have been with Vanguard since 1971. They are a responsible company. Transamerica is questionable as far as the annuity accounts from Vanguard. The Transamerica website for Vanguard Annuities is very difficult to navigate and not user friendly. Verbal complaints to Transamerica have not resulted in any changes to their website. I do not plan to do further business with such an impersonal company as Transamerica. They don't seem to value my six figure annuity investment. read more

ZERO STARS They are not worth your time. I've been screwed out of my money by Transamerica. They confirmed the beneficiary and then paid someone else......no payment to my company on the assignment as PROMISED. Look elsewhere if you want people who care and do the right thing. read more

An Update to the previous nightmare at TransAmerica. No one responded before I could finally find some paperwork that they had to have. They were so happy, called me back immediately, apologized for the months and months of delay, issued funds via electronic wire at no charge, even gave my wife and I a complimentary dinner at Outback. Wasn't that nice? OH, sorry, April Fools day! Not only didn't they ever call me back, they never advised they had processed the check several days earlier. Oh well, at least their check was good as gold. OH, April Fools, not sure why, but a hold was put on this check for a good week or so. Way to go TransAmerica,Capital Management Group, on C st SW, it appears that you are so trusted to follow your word. I must admit that every employee I spoke with tried to do an exceptional job, but obviously they had their hands tied. And man, I don't miss that nauseas music noise while forced to be on hold for hours. Thinking back right now, that alone is probably the most frustrating thing to endure, being a successor trustee. Please do not deal with this Company they are very shady, they have no concern for your needs at the time you are in need. I tried to retrieve a loan not a lot of money, pay in over ten of thousands of dollars and want to withdraw $1,000.00 it's been 3 weeks and I have yet to receive any money from them. TransAMERICA is not the people you want to depend on when you are pressed for your benefits that convince you to buy their policies. I regret doing business with them, a nightmare. read more

Zero stars. They kept charging me but could not find me in their system to cancel policy. On top of it: you can sign up online, but to cancel your policy you need to write them a letter. Stay away. If you are in WA and have to have LTC, go elsewhere. read more

The customer rep was FABULOUS - however, in requesting a refund for payments on a "cancelled policy #016112545" was a NIGHTMARE! When we realized that Transamerica was still deducting payments for our cancelled policy back on 4/2019 - we immediately contacted them. After numerous runarounds and transfers, we finally talked to a very nice rep. We faxed over all the requested documentation to validate our claim. We had the VA give us a letter advising we were already covered by them as Veterans. Then we were advised there was no SIGNATURE on an email letter. Ridiculous. We hope after today, our refund is being mailed. Doc/VA 1970's. read more

This company seems inept at handling documents. We requested a disbursement from my wife's 401(k) account, and specifically stated that we wanted it to be a direct deposit transaction. Instead, the overnighted a check to us, and charged us $40.00 to do so. So not only are we still waiting for the check to clear, but money we are counting on is not available until after Christmas. I would advise that they hire people who are much sharper on the uptake. read more

THEY helped my parents get great service and great claims; they are a large company so expect some wait times. I am happy that they are a highly rated company financially; yes, keep copies of everything you send them; just in case they need them again. Have a good day! My husband's company got bought out by another company. In the process, his 401k got moved from one company to another. Imagine our surprise when we got a 1099 saying he had received a cash distribution out of his 401k account. He didn't. He called them to report the erroneous 1099. He had to leave a message with someone who said they'd call back within an hour. Their automated callback dropped the call while my husband was on hold. After that, no one ever bothered to contact him again. He tried a couple days later himself, and while the agent investigated and said that it looks like it was their problem. They said they didn't know what to do to correct the problem and would have to look into it. When my husband asked for them to call and update him with news, they said, "That's not how we work. If you want an update, you'll have to call us." Incredible. Their mistake on our tax info, and they can't be bothered to contact us. Unbelievable. read more

Not sure what all they do here but the people there are very professional the cafetiera is very clean and has a nice menu. I'm volunteering here for thanksgiving were we make meals for meals on wheels and older people that have no one to share there time with. Hope everyone has a great thanksgiving! read more

I would not trust them with your money! The level of incompetence and mistakes they make are unbelievable. My grandfather would roll over in his grave if he knew all the mistakes his grandkids and kids had to put up with, as well as fix! They wrote me a check, a week later took the whole thing back out of my account, without even telling me. This caused other checks to bounce, bank fees, and a whole lot of stress. They took it back because two of their employees made a mistake. I was freaking out and calling them back to help me, all I got was people lying to me saying someone was going to call me. Nobody ever called me to fix this. Every single year they make a mistake. Whether it be forgetting to write a check, writing the wrong amount, having people tell us different things over the phone, or even sending us a check in another person's name. read more

I have requested transamerica to cancel my policy and refund my amount fully. The reason was, I have never signed my policy physically and my actual agent(who is on the policy and her name is Yojana R Sangu) never talked to me either and also I have never received full insurance document from neither insurance company nor agent. Another agent(Sai Lingeswara Reddy Rami Reddy) assisted for my policy. Initially he submitted my policy with elite rating along with long term care over the web. After attending medical checkup, came to know from agent(Sai Lingeswara Reddy Rami Reddy) that my rating has changed but didn't know about long term care denial. Regarding long term care denial I came to know when i have received annual statement from transamerica and this is the first policy information I have received from transamerica. When agent(Sai Lingeswara Reddy Rami Reddy) told me about rating change, I have submitted my health check report which was done personally with another doctor but my elite rating never reflected on the policy. Agent(Yojana R Sangu) on the policy shared my information with her husband. Her husband harrassed my wife and threatened us and i have full chat transcript from Whatsapp with me. I have requested Transamerica to understand and read my case thoroughly and requested them to cancel my policy right away along with issuing full refund but received letter saying they are declining in refunding my premium paid on the policy. Due to all this mess happened, I have asked them to cancel my other policies taken one for my daughter and my wife as well and refund my premiums paid but they declined. Transamerica not following basic insurance compliance procedures and policies. read more

the call center for Long Term Care was not available 4 times 9/17/20 "due to unforseen circumstances" and disconnected me 4X after I called the 800# and 319 area code number, no alternative contact information was given. I needed the status of a premium payment that was late. They provided no email contact, chance to leave a message for later contact, etc. This is inexcusable! read more

They are very incompetent. I have been with them long enough to know do not trust them with your money. Both me and everyone in my family have had nothing but awful experiences. Even after filling out their withdrawal forms very specifically, they are unable to complete the requests correctly (like taking taxes out when I requested no taxes be taken out). It takes multiple calls to get anything resolved, because one person will tell you one thing and then another will tell you something completely different. Please use any other company! I first signed up for long term health care with Transamerica, Long Term Car Division at PO Box 8 in 2011. Since then, they have raised premiums four times by 50% each time. This last time, they offered to reduce premiums if I agreed to reduce my annual inflation adjustment from 5% to 2.75%. I wanted to do this but lost the applicable form. I called their customer service well before my premium was due and was informed they would send out the form right away. This call call was made June 15 of this year. Not having received the paperwork, I called again on June 11 (8 days before my premium was due) and was promised that it would be sent. It did not come, so I transferred the lowered premium which cleared my bank on June 18, one day before the deadline. I called again on June 25 and again was promised that the form would be sent to me, and that I had done the right thing in sending in the lower premium. Not having received the promised form, I called again on August 25 and was promised it once more. In letter from Transamerica dated August 28, they thanked me for my payment. However, that I still owed them the difference between the check (which was what I had told them in four calls that I was opting for) and the increased premium. That letter was postmarked September 10 (two weeks after it was drafted) and I received it on September 13 (147 days after the deadline for the premium due date back in June 19). Furthermore, in each of the calls I was put on hold for extended periods and/or bounced to different department(s). I called twice September 16 and 17 and got a recorded message that they, in essence, were too busy to take may call. I suspect fraud and will be contacting the US Department of Interior to investigate. read more

Attempts to receive surrender value of our life insurance policy with Transamerica has placed Transamerica in the upper one percent of the worst customer service of any company I have encountered. Inaccurate information, incomplete surrender procedures. a telephone hold time of one hour and forty five minutes, multiple inaccurate time lines for our refund check, and then after delays of over one month and a quarter months a request for more patience! Since late January 2015 only one communication has been received indicating another delay: "This may take some time, so we appreciate your patience". A requested response indicating the precise definition of "some time" has not been received despite my request. I would caution any one considering an insurance policy with Transamerica to be well informed of the poor service level and inexcusable delays which I have encountered. With my other two insurance companies matters worked as they should efficient, accurate, and timely in communication. read more

So I got a call from a rep saying that She can transfer all my new information over the phone and less paperwork to fill out. I thought that's great. But she said I will also be talking with the new advisor the next day to get introduced and finish up my info. So I said to call early as possible while my little ones are asleep. The lady I spoke with Maureen Berry(trainee) was not trained properly due to the fact that they can't do name change and beneficiaries change over the phone. That's what the most rudest advisor Matt Luckey had advised me. He came off to be very short and when I said he didn't need to be rude and that I will be changing companies and I didn't need his assistance he was very quick to hang up.. to anyone that reads this... do you really want someone on this team to be training others as well as having an attitude towards customers? I really hope not. I've been with this company for years and it's sad to say I will have to find a different company because of one bad apple. As for Maureen I wish her the best and hope she succeeds but I really hope she does elsewhere. Watch people... Matt Luckey is not someone to deal with. Boo Matt Luckey!!! read more

5 years ago I purchased a Universal Life Insurance Policy and it was meant to be more of a savings account and a back up as "life happens"....my agent did not explain the policy very well, however I wanted to prepare for the future and this policy appeared to meet my needs and had the "back up" as "life happens". The life Insurance policy was to act as a savings account. 5 years later and since I am looking at a pay cut in a job transition I had to look at every bill and expense I had. Turns out I gave Transamerica $7500 and my policy does not even have half of that to "borrow back" in case a emergency surfaced. The first several years the money is locked - funny how no one mentioned that... I had called in the past and tried to get a customer service representative to walk me through the plan...now I know why the rep spent more time making me feel bad for calling vs staying on task. Oh, and my insurance agent...um ya...changed 6 months after I purchased the policy and I have never received a call or call back from their office...again...I was just giving Transamerica my hard earned $$$ so of course they would never call back or explain what I purchased. Even today I attempted to cancel the policy and went through everything, the customer service rep seemed embarrassed and it did not appear this was the first time she heard my story (even sadder)....after 10 min of back and forth I requested official cancellation papers. BUYER BEWARE AND READ EVERYTHING SEVEN TIMES IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE A CUSTOMER OF TRANSAMERICA....!!! THEY ARE ONLY IN PLACE TO RIP YOU OFF AND WORK AGAINST HELPING YOU OR YOUR PLANS OF SAVING MONEY OR FINANCIAL PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!!!! read more

I have a 401k account here through my company. There have been so many issues regarding my SSN. Apparently Someone else stole it, although there's been. O adverse activity except that transamerica wouldn't let me set up/access my account. I went in to the SSA twice & told my transamerica service reps that the SSA said it was their responsibility to fix whatever issue they had, is supplied all requested proof and documentation to them already, so it was their responsibility now but I need to be Able to create & access my account securely. They were often unresponsive & altogether unknowledgeable & unwilling to help. It took literally 4 months to "fix", & thats 4 months of me sending weekly emails to move things forward. And by "fix" I mean I was able to sign up & access my account online. HOWEVER, they also gave the person who stole my SSN access to all of my PII/personal info & my account because they refuse to boot them out of their system apparently. When I signed in, I had access to their $0 balance account and all of their personal information, as they had access to my (not $0) balance & my PII! Transamerica claimed that the person never signed on & saw my info so I'm in the clear...that it was just their company representative who created the account for the other person. Even if that's the case, It's a pretty serious offense to share my information & access to my money with ANYONE else, regardless of whether they've already STOLEN my SSN or they are another account representative. Worst customer service & very incompetent & unresponsive. read more

Transamerica has been totally incompetent. My Father, purchased an annuity for his 7 grandchildren. When he passed away in 2017, this annuity was supposed to paid out over 5 years to the 7 grandchildren. Right from the start, when the kids called, they were given misinformation. Some were told they could take out the whole amount, others were told that it was to be paid over 5 years. Transamerica had to send 2 -3 checks to each person because they sent incorrect amounts, made out the checks in the wrong names. In 2019, they received a letter sounding like they could take out the remaining balance. Again, wrong information was given out. Some were told they could take the balance out now. Paperwork was sent, wrong paperwork was sent, paperwork was sent yet again. Then one of the grandchildren did receive a check for the balance, while others were told that 2 wrongs did not make a right and that they couldn't have the balance. The grandchild that did receive a check, then found that Transamerica removed the amount from their account with no advance notice, causing much mental anguish and financial hardship. It's hard to believe that the employees are so poorly trained that this mess keeps happening. My father would roll over in his grave if he knew how Transamerica was making such a mess of the very nice thing he did for his grandchildren. I would never recommend Transamerica for anyone! read more

I find it abhorrent that I have to opt out of a company from sharing my personal information when I never authorized them to do so in the first place. In fact, I am not sure I even have any accounts with them or their associates or 3rd parties. Again, terrible business practice that should be outlawed. Disgusting business practice that should not be allowed by law. Reflects poorly on them and their affiliates. read more
