Ok, no problem I guess. 1 week later, I'm told they're not releasing funds until the following day at 3pm (more than 8 days later), supposedly because yesterday was a bank holiday and "they couldn't do anything about it" despite their promise they'd be available today. Also, the "Current balance" is not the same as "Available balance" which isn't shown on their site or app. You need to dig into the details to see if there is a "hold amount". Not obvious at all and shady that it's buried in the details sub-tab page.

I had a positive experience at this bank. I received a credit card in the mail from a furniture…read morestore and was unable to access it online until verifying my identity at a Wells Fargo branch due to recently changing my address, which was frustrating. But the people at the bank were very friendly and helped me get my online account set up. The first person I spoke with was a teller...I believe her name was Kim?? She appeared to be maybe in her 50's. Very sweet. She informed me I needed to speak with a banker. Michael Zeran was the banker I spoke with, and he was very friendly. He made sure I was able to get my credit card account verified and was very respectful. When it comes to customer service and helping people with what they came to get help with, I can't think of anything that could have been done to improve given the constraints that employees at a bank are faced with. Michael did bring up the bank's services and ask if I wanted to open an account with Wells Fargo. I declined, and that was that. Remember that employees at Wells Fargo are required to offer their services to everyone who walks through the door. They do have a quota they have to fill in order to keep their jobs. Nothing the employees can do about that...that's the bank's rules. What makes a good banker is knowing when to really try to sell the service (for example to someone it could really benefit) and when not to. Michael interpreted my non-verbal clues very well and did not push. Like I said, this was a good experience, and I would not hesitate to go back. Regarding the hours...I went in on a Saturday. Google does seem to have the incorrect closing time of 1:00pm, but if you look at the bank's actual website, they have it correct. It closes at 12pm on Saturdays. This needs to be changed on Google. The bank has it right.

We obtained our original mortgage through UICCU and later refinanced through them when the rates went down a few years ago. We also utilize the services for financial planning that they offer. I do feel that on some occasions going into the bank takes a bit longer than I may have hoped but not on all or most occasions and nothing you don't experience at nearly every back. All in all we highly recommend UICCU and appreciate the services and the service we receive.

Well in reality, I applied to this bank at 4 different locations and not once received a call back. After a few years in college and my good history, I was surprised to say the least. Other banks I had no history with that paid even better, gave me interviews when Hills would not. The few times they responded back at all, it was months later and to tell me that they went with a better applicant. Extremely disappointing to say the least. I will be moving all of my business elsewhere and highly recommend to anyone that asks that they do the same.

He then told me he could not make change for a $5 bill because I was not a member of their bank. I later went to Hills Bank and exchanged $40 for quarters. I asked the Hills Bank teller if non-account members could also exchange bills for coins, and she said absolutely. Central State Bank sure did not feel very "community friendly" today; whereas, Hills Bank has never let me down. If you are new to the Coralville area, I'd recommend doing your business with Hills Bank and steer clear of Central State Bank.
