I hired Elias to develop a website from scratch in June 2020 for $950. We went over exactly what I needed on a website, and he said he could do it. Well, it is now August, and the site is not finished, and he won't fix glaring issues with the site. He took my $950, and all I got was a site that could have been made on Wix. Nothing was easy with this guy because he outsources the work and can't do anything without making it a 24hour turnaround. Where he outsourced the work produced work that is full of errors, and I had to go through email chains of communication to get simple things like where a period should go fixed. Based on the product I have now, he is not a professional web developer, and I have an email from Elias stating that I should have gone to a professional to get this website done correctly. Beware of this company. Horrible experience.This guy is a crook, please read all ratings for him! I found myself repeating and asking many times with Elias, to no avail. Here we are a month and half in, and I am just not satisfied. I learned photoshop because he could not deliver simple things I was asking for. Called my project "creative". This makes no sense, he promised a unique functioning site. I believe he used a template. He claims he built it from scratch and I'm going to get a second opinion. He promised he could come through with exactly what I wanted and its subpar work. He couldn't do Half of what I asked. If you do not want a standard simple website, and want your website and brand to stand out, this is not the company you want to choose to design for you. Lack of design skills, lack of communication! Like one review said, they believe Elias, sources his work in India. Meaning he sends out requests to designers in India and they ship it back. No wonder it took him days to send over simple updates. HE IS NOT A DESIGNER AND OVER CHARGES. I am now losing money, how can I have inventory before my website. It's so messed up, and I repeated to Elias, I am losing money and he did not help expedite is his service. Poor customer service. I took matters into my own hands and am doing a lot of things myself, all he is doing is copying and pasting. For$1500 is not worth it. You can do what he does on squarespace.com. I will update later, once the product is finished. Once, he saw this review, he confronted me and said the review was not accurate and fabricated so I added the screenshots for myself. All he cares about is his reviews not the quality of his work. In many of the screenshots you can see me sending him the same information over and over. I asked him is he reading my messages? Even went in to tell he wouldn't try my product, you can see that in the screenshot (extremely petty, and unprofessional). Focus on my website. He got back to me immediately when the review was written. Upset with my review he took the time to send many emails but not one update to my site. So what is more important to this company is the facade. Also, For weeks, I asked for the intro to be a certain way with dissolving animation in the into (check the screenshots). Not once did he tell me he couldn't do it. He waited until Sept. 5 and you can see it in the screenshots very unprofessional. There's a lot of things he couldn't do. Now forcing the rest of the money and stating he has done enough?! How? You've been hired to design a website, to MY LIKINGS. Enough is when I am satisfied and if I am not satisfied or you can't create the website I want then forfeit the project and refund me my money. As far as E commerce all he had to do was integrate my e commerce site, which I sent the codes to on Aug 21., he knew this and then on Aug 27, said he thought I had someone else working on it and he would just copy and paste it? WHAT? Didn't you ask me for the information for the integration and I gave it to you? It's still not done and I provided him with that info on Aug 21st! It is now Sept 6. So what exactly have you been doing with your time. Def. not working on my site. I am ok, just ok, not happy or excited with the website, I pretty much settled because I NEED A WEBSITE TO CONDUCT BUSINESS. It's not the best but not the worst. I just don't think it was worth the price and the experience was horrible and very stressful. I shouldn't have to hold someone's hand who I hired. I pretty did most of the designing myself. I created the layout and the design. It wasn't just me giving him information on what I wanted and he created an amazing site. NOPE. HE IS A COPY AND PASTE DESIGNER. Not up on new trends. According to the invoice, my website is missing things, the blog, the video gallery. I will not hire anyone from this company again. It's like most of these "designers" are not designers at all. He is not the first I've encountered to do easy work and get upset when you challenge them. They are so used to creating the same layouts, and similar designs. WARNING WARNING WARNING!!!! DO NOT TO BUSINESS WITH Elias!!!! We hired him to design a website site for us, and he didn't connect the functions together. We asked him several times to meet with us via Zoom, to go over our concerns in why the functions weren't working and he ignored us. The first initial Zoom meeting and the last he never would show his face and we found that very odd. And now we understand why he's a dishonest man. He told us during our conference meeting that project would take 2-3 weeks and it would cost us $950. When we spoke to him again (within a couple of days) and decided to move forward with him, the price went up to $2,000, and the interesting thing he had asked us how much did we pay the other web designer, and I told him and that was a BAD MISTAKE!!!! Because he jack-up the pricing and ripped us off!!! We requested a refund and he refused to refund us. Note: we never signed a contract and wasn't aware of his 'No Refund Policy'. None of that was EVER DISCLOSED TO US. And what we discuss was never done. Also, he started off good at the beginning (to collect our money) and ended up been horrible throughout the process. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, we obtain an Attorney, and he wouldn't respond until I file a dispute claim against him through my bank. I'm still trying to get our money back. We were informed by other web designers & programmers, that he never connected the functionalities and our website looked like a business card and you need to request your money back. This was one of the worst business transitions that I've ever experienced!!!! If you need a web designer & programmer please contact Tangerine Web Works they're the best in designing websites. I worked with Elias during my project for logo/Youtube design. It was such a wonderful experience. He was very reassuring without over-promising. However, when he delivered, it was flawless work. Top-notch. He was never rushing for payment or closing the project, instead always asking if I was happy with what he'd done and to let him know if there's something I want changed. If you're going to hire Transformed Design you better save all your receipts incase you need to get your money back. They can do simple projects but definitely not a web design company. Working with Elias was exhausting and disappointing. He tried to charge me twice for hosting, thank God I had the email with the price that we had agreed upon. I ended firing him and finding a new designer who worked on my project in 3 days! A whole month of my time wasted and more money spent, but with the new designer it was worth it. I believe he outsources his work so it will feel like you're working with someone in a different country. Communication was very poor, once you pay him you become less of a priority. It's difficult to write this review fairly because I am still a little angry, but even more so disappointed. It is also difficult to select the correct number of Rating stars to choose, because one aspect of the site they designed was good, but the functionality was bad. Here's what happened: Basically we wanted our current website redesigned. The functionality was fine, but it just looked "dated." We wanted a site that was cleaner in appearance, more like Apple's website. We could not decipher Transformed Design's pricing chart posted on their website, so I called and had a long conversation with Elias, one of the owners of Transformed Design. I explained what I wanted: The same functionality as our current site, but update the look. I gave them the general guidelines. I was told they would be completed within two weeks. About eight days in I received a receipt indicating the amount I was being charged, which is the amount we discussed on the phone. The receipt also indicated that I was purchasing a "Template Website." This point, apparently, is important. We sell basically six products. Each of those six products have one or two accessories that can be purchased with those six main products: product cases, warranties, etc. Transformed Design was having difficulty creating the product page that would also display the accessories for those products. Not that they told us anything. All we knew is that the two-week estimate had slipped to four, and then to eight. The next difficulty is that they could not seem to create the shopping cart that allowed the customer to purchase the main product and the accompanying accessories. After 12 weeks we were informed the website was finished! It went live. We immediately noticed two glaring issues: 1) It took from 30 seconds to two minutes for each page to load. 2) The shopping cart did not function at all. You could not purchase anything at all. We advised Transformed Design of these two issues. Their response was not encouraging or helpful: They would look into it. Keep in mind they were well aware that they were ten weeks late on finishing this website, and they were aware our website was not functional since its launch (two more weeks). After about two weeks of waiting for the site to be fixed we again contacted Elias. He indicated he was sorry, but he was "really busy" working on other business, but now he was going to look into it. We contacted two new web design companies to see if they would be willing to fix the site designed by Transformed Design. They both indicated it would be much cheaper to just hire a new company and start from scratch. That is what we did. The new company completed the website within three weeks. They were given the same instructions as were given to Transformed Design. The new site functions exactly as we had requested. We ended up paying Transformed Design close to $3,500 to design our site. We received absolutely nothing in return. The new design company indicated nothing would be gained by trying to salvage anything from the Transformed Design site. So we ended up losing the $3,500 paid to Transformed Design, plus an additional $5,000 - $10,000 from our site being down for five weeks (two weeks waiting for Transformed Design to fix the site, plus three weeks waiting for the new site to be built by the new company.) A very painful and expensive lesson. I've never written a review on Yelp before, and I wasn't going to do so in this case until something pushed me over the edge: We attempted to do a charge-back with VISA, as we had paid Transformed Design using a VISA card. We explained to VISA what had happened and why we were requesting our $3,500 back. We were willing to abide by whatever VISA decided. Our request was denied. We assumed Transformed Design indicated to VISA the same thing they indicated to us when they were advised we were requesting a refund: Hey, we worked really hard building your website. Don't we deserve some money? However, that is not what they argued to VISA. They told VISA that the site worked perfectly, and that the three-month delay was due to all the design changes we had requested. Both of those arguments are untrue, and Transformed Design knows them to be untrue. Because they were willing to lie in order to keep $3,500, we have chosen to post our review. To be completely fair to them, we actually preferred the design of the site built by Transformed Design. It was closer to what I had pictured in my mind when I was thinking of our new site. However, my best guess is that they are probably capable of building very simple websites that provide information and pictures, but that if you require an ecommerce site with a shopping cart, etc., they might not have the skill set for that. read more
