After…read morereviewing the embassy website and talking to some people at the embassy, I learned about the process for getting legit documents completed and sent. In the past there was a mandatory process of getting documents "Red ribboned", or the fancy term for having the embassy legitimize the document. Recently(2019), rules changed and documents are now officialized through a process called Apostille. Through some sanction called the Hague Apostille Convention we can get any official document destined for the Philippines, stamped through the Secretary of State. Enter this "broker" type business who does all the work for you! A simple drive to this Springfield location and this long process turned into a simple chore. I brought my docs to them, paid them a small fee of $65 and they took care of getting my stuff notarized, and stamped by the state dept. I picked up my docs in 2 days and sent everything off to the mother-land. I did not have to drag my elderly parents all over the DMV to take care of this stuff. Call them to get more info if you are unsure on what they can do. There's plenty of onsite parking and you are in/out in a few minutes.
