No I would not recommend. They are only into locals or people that will make a reservation Way in…read moreadvance. Not great for a lid back town like Las Palmas in Grand Canarias.! Even spoke with the owner, who in so many words told me ' he did not care about the reviews because he did not need them'. Hope karma catches up with him on that but...Just go somewhere else, tons of good food around!

I love Amigo Camilo. When I get to heaven, this restaurant will be one of my happy zones - maybe…read morewith better chairs. This is your classic seafood restaurant with pick-your-own seafood options including fresh-caught fish like snapper and a really lovely and tasty fish called vieja. Vieja has big bones and nice thick white meat with a lovely texture. I do recommend it "a la plancha". They will split and grill the fish for you and they're unbelievably cheap. A large sized one cost us €23 and it was brought to our table pretty quickly. All the dishes come with a huge hunk of lemon. I recommend the longorones, the chipirones, and my all-time Favorite the puntillas. Longorones are tiny little skinny fish you eat whole, chipirones are small baby squid, and puntillas are even tinier baby squid. I could eat an entire order of puntillas to myself. I like that you're given the option for everything to be either fried or grilled. I prefer fried for the smaller seafood and grilled for the larger seafood. I have yet to try the mussels but I'm sure they are out of this world. The white wine is good, the red wine is VERY strong. The staff are all busy but incredibly sweet and they all speak perfectly passable English so please don't worry about that. Most of the customer base was either German or Dutch the last time we went. All the way around a pleasant experience.

So you can sit outside if you want. I liked the ambiance so good , I decided to have lunch there after the tour. I ordered as main course the Codfish with passion fruit coulis on a season vegetables bed. I accompanied the meal with a nice glass of red wine. The dish was sheer poetry. The fresh fish was steamed and tasted great. The passion fruit coulis gave the bites a sweet note. The vegetables were all crunchy and contributed to an unforgettable food experience. I finished with the dessert of Three-way milk cake with dry fruit mix and toasted coconut. The dessert was a layer of cake and fruits at the bottom, topped what I can only describe as condensed whipped cream. It was so good it was gone in a blink of an eye. This would be for sure one of my regular restaurants to visit, if I would live in Las Palmas.

When you first walk into the restaurant, it feels like you wanted into a traditional Spanish home. We had a table tucked away on the corner of the patio area in the centre of the restaurant. It's lovely to feel like you're sitting outside without the pedestrian traffic. For 4 people, we ordered a couple of simple starters - mixed salad, papas arrugadas (wrinkly potatoes with red mojo), and revuelto (scrambled egg, mushroom and shrimp). Everything was fresh and tasted delicious. Also to start you have a roll of warm bread. For mains most of us ordered the cod pil pil - which is what they are known for - the pil pil is a mild garlic sauce and a side of vegetables (which I've been told most likely from the potaje!). It was delicious - and much bigger portion than expected. Overall for the price and quality of the dining experience, definitely one of the top places to eat in Las Palmas.
