This restaurant opened at the end of November in Vegueta and it is noticeable. From the outside it looks clean and welcoming.
My colleagues and I came to La Macarena and stayed for a good three hours during the Thursday night pinchos. We were a rather large group for a small establishment but were able to sit together. Since it was a Thursday night, they had the first half of the dining room available for those eating pinchos and drinking beer/wine, while the second half was reserved for diners.
The standard pincho y caña in the area is €2 but here it was €2.50. I thought it was worth it. The pinchos were a much higher quality than many served in the area. They offered tortilla with a slice of seared beef on top, very nice jamon y queso, and a delicious tapa of caramelized onions and cheese.
I have not tried their full menu but will consider returning for a special evening. read more
