In our recent trip to Piemonte we reserved a table for lunch at this restaurant. The restaurant is in a beautiful location and the dining rooms are elegant. The food was spectacular! "della Posta" delivered the best quality food without interfering with the regional authenticity in every dish served. The flavors, freshness, and presentation were unmatched. We came back for dinner the next day and the experience was as amazing as the day before. We ate: the octopus appetizer that was on the specials, the baked stuffed onion, tajarin pasta with fresh porcini mushrooms, gnocchi with fish and olives, stuffed quail, goose leg stuffed with goose liver, tajarin with meat ragu, roasted rabbit, roasted baby lamb, panacotta and napoleon with fresh strawberries. We also ate at Osteria Veglio, Trattoria Marsupino, More e Macine, and restaurant Bovio. Della Posta was the best of all. It's a husband and wife team running the restaurant. The husband is the executive chef and the wife is in charge of service. You'll see her running the dining room, working with the staff, taking orders, opening wine, sitting guests, answering the phone, etc. She is awesome!

Whether you're here for a curated tasting, a private event, or a casual glass of wine, the experience feels intentional--never rushed, never routine. Effortlessly chic, yet comfortably relaxed. Moda is where tradition gets dressed up for a night out--and knows how to enjoy it.

Like other ristorante in the area we have visited, you can count on top notch service, beautifully presented, hand-made food and an extensive list of local wines at astonishingly reasonable prices. We have learned to share courses in order to avoid getting too much food (even though portion sizes here were "normal" and not the typical over sized ones of USA). We started with a fresh tomato baked with burratta cheese inside followed by a beautiful sage and ricotta filled pasta then a filet of breaded veal that was cooked perfectly. To finish, we chose a chocolate hazelnut dessert and also enjoyed a nice Barbera wine with the meal. Total was only 92€. Caution: it is a MUST to book ahead-they only have about 15 tables on the patio and turned away many diners trying to walk-in.

Their prices were less expensive than the restaurant where we had dinner at in Alba. The taglioni dish with white truffle was absolutely delicious! Everyone was happy with their food. The complimentary breads and mountain butter were so good! We are used to having butter with our bread so we miss it being in Italy. This butter was creamy and melted right into the bread. We didn't have reservations. They were able to seat us. Waiter was very nice. Everyone working there seems nice.

On this trip, I learned that small fish like anchovies and sardines are commonly served items in the Italian diet. They are extremely flavorful and were a delightful surprise. My favorite item here has to be their cod gnocchi! The gnocchi was artfully made and each bite was a burst of chewy dough. One thing I also learned was that the Barolo region also has white wine! I really enjoyed getting to explore the Arneis white wines produced in this region!
