The Umbria Jazz Festival was in full force, so most restaurants in and around the main street were…read morepacked. But as we headed back toward our area, I remembered seeing this place walking up the hill. The patio was full so we went inside and it was pretty much empty. The nice thing is that we didn't have to talk over the loud bass that filled the neighborhood.
We ordered a great bottle of wine, and planned to share everything. So we started with the Penne all'Arrabbiata, which had a nice subtle spicy flavor and perfect pasta. We then had the Insalatona dI pollo: insalata mista, pollo grigliato, citronette, which sounds so much better than a salad with chicken. We ended with the spaghetti with cherry tomatoes and pesto. This was the best pesto we've had in a long time. We shared a tiramisu and I got a shot of limoncello.
This was a really great meal. The service was friendly and my limited Italian worked. I would definitely come back if ever in the city of Perugia again!
