After a year of planning and paying for a…read morevacation I found out NINE days before I leave that when I arrive to my destination I will have to pay over 500 dollars in taxes and fees that I was unaware of. They were no more helpful than searching tripadvisor or booking.com (you'd actually have better results using these websites anyway). The only response they could come up with after they slammed us with the information of these fees, that I was not financially prepared for, was "yeah, but you're going to have fun!". It's hard to have fun when the spending money you've worked so hard to save is disappearing just by landing at your destination. Thanks for keeping us so informed Karla and Diane, you are both terrible at your job and have started our vacation stressed out and in tears and we haven't even boarded our plane yet. I felt the whole reason to use a travel agent was to take the stress off, this only caused us more stress and wasted time on the phone confirming all of our excursions and finding out where to be and what time to be there.

Sandy at France Journeys was hired for a Switzerland/France trip at the end of April for two young…read morewomen. The process was plagued by delays from the start, the app had repeated issues, and with 10 days until departure the itinerary was still blank. She refused to provide confirmation numbers or a pricing breakdown despite repeated requests. Due to the blank itinerary and delays we spoke with Sandy on the phone where she reassured us that all would be good within 7 days of the departure, and that she was providing a service including keeping us out of harms way in the red light district. She did offer a refund/cancellation at that time. We decided to cancel and rebook on our own at which time Sandy backtracked and said that she could not actually do a full refund but could probably get 200-400 back. We also discovered at that point that she had booked a 4 hour walking tour at $400 per person without consulting us (we would not have agreed to that). The itinerary that finally arrived 7 days out was simply a reprint of my original wish-list with no guidance on timing, navigation, logistics and no bookings. We had to figure all of that out for ourselves. For a service that cost significantly more than it was worth, we received no real planning, no expertise, and no peace of mind. If you are capable of booking a hotel or train ticket on your own, you do not need this "service". Save yourself the stress and your money. Days after returning from this trip Sandy emailed saying that she did not want to work with us for our already planned trip in September and refunded us the $500 we already gave her for that. I wish that was enough to recuperate from this horrible experience in April... Oh and the promise to help steer us out of the red light district never happened, and we ended up there at night on our own.

We were met by classy drivers with good English at every flight arrival. Every selection was perfect, giving us a five-star experience. She worked within our budget and is easy to talk to.
