Been going there for years. Place is very well kept up. Fishing,Boating,Paddle Boats. Beachslde Pavillion and Vice nice gazebo.Put put golf. Full basketball court. Arcade room (needs alil updating). Nice beach, Good swimming area.with activitys to do in the water. Went 4th july weekend this time. D.J., Fire works show that was Great. Turned the basketball court into a dance floor for the dj at night. Biggest frog,fish and turtle contest. My daughter won the turtle contest,9inch painter. Highly recommended read more

This place is amazing, our 1st time here and we're coming back. We've already reserved 3 holidays in 2018. Met the owner Alan Taylor last night, he's a very genuine person. The campground provides lots of activities for kids and adults. Well maintained. My only comply is that I felt like we were packed in too close to other camp sites. read more

We are full time RV'ers and have been on the road for over 3 years, visiting 100 plus campgrounds and RV parks. Taylor's Beach is in our top ten of everyplace we have visited. Katie in the office is awesome, Alex is friendly and helpful, and Alan the owner stopped by while I was doing some bug removal on the front of the coach and asked if I/we needed anything. The showers/restroom is large and very clean. The location on Cook Lake is ideal for families or anyone who enjoys the beach, and watersports. Every site has a large picnic table and fire ring. I highly recommend this campground if you are visiting the Detroit area. Andy B. read more

We are staying @ TB to try out our new motor home. Small sites but otherwise a very nice, picturesque campground . Nice beach and lakefront facilities. Only real complaint is the noise by the maintenance people. Saturday afternoon and equipment is so loud we can't have a conversation. I called and asked if it could be kept quieter and they said they would turn off equipment (mowers, grinders, etc.). It was quiet for about 3 minutes then started right back up. We might as well be in downtown Detroit. read more

We hope to come back but with the limited campsites (not taken by seasonal) and those sites being the most expensive since they are lakeside and without much shade we may not. Other than that we had a great time(and one particular seasonal camper that blares the radio loud enough to keep the kids in the trailer awake until 3 am-they raised the volume every time they drifted off and sang along). The kids don't want to go anywhere else with the playground, sand toys and water inflatables and the game room/other activities. We like to camp with family and friends and there aren't enough sites for us to get a reservation next year for one site is the issue! They need less seasonal people or more sites. read more

My kids LOVE Taylors beach! So much for the kids to do! They offer way. More then just a lake tons of stuff for kids. Park is clean well taken care of they do hayrides movies just an amazing place! We definitely be coming back :) read more

Taylor's Beach is not as much a campground as it is a mobile home park. Literally 90% or more of its 200 sites are filled with long time seasonals, likely because the seasonal price is easily $1500 below any other campground around - and for good reason. This campground has seen its better days and absolutely begs for some TLC and remodelling. The facilities are outdated and inadequate. Three showers and three stalls for 200+ campsites just doesn't cut it. And they are in need of serious renovations. The playground is straight from the late 70s I would guess, nothing fancy and doesn't truly hold the interest of the kids. The sand that makes up the roads is softer (less rocky) than the beach sand. The lake, spring fed, is rather cold regardless of air temperature, and just happens to have leaches to really make it enjoyable (not) for the kids. All sites in this campground are completely unlevel. Some are outright scary with the way folks have to elevate their tongue jacks and prop up frame jacks on multiple concrete building blocks. A good wind and I can see a few of them crashing down and becoming steam rollers. The campground is otherwise rather overpriced. While Taylor's Beach advertises WiFi it is very hit or miss, poor signal, slow speeds if you do get a connection that works, as is completely unsecured - a HUGE technology risk. If you are looking to have a guest come out and join you for a day of camping, think again. Taylor's Beach makes a money grab of $5 per person and they aren't to stay the night. Bundles of firewood (that easily sell for $2.50 to $3 elsewhere) will run you $5. And with Seasonals occupying a majority of the campground, don't consider full hook-ups an option - you'll likely have to request (and pay for) pump out services for a longer stay. While Taylor's Beach also says they spray for skeeters, no such spraying happened as we saw. Individuals campsites brought their own foggers instead. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. I know that we won't be going back. read more

Taylors Beach Campground. If I were going to this park for the water and activities for the kids, I would give it a 4 to a 5. However it is 95% seasonal and really has the feel of a mobile home park and not a campground. People have made so many make shift sheds, decks, porches etc around their campsite and it just gave it a dumpy feel. We were disappointed and once you are there you are stuck unless you want to lose your money. Staff was very friendly, restrooms were ok, could have been better kept up, but ok. I would NOT camp here again unless it was the only place at all available to camp. So I am not sure what the positive reviews are about, but way too seasonal for our tastes. NO trees available on the sites they leave for the weekend campers and it's right next to the kids play area. Ok if you have kids. read more

Taylor's Beach Campground is very fun and relaxing. but if you need to do work and or watch YouTube or need wifi don't go there because there wifi is too slow/not good ( they are working on improving the Wi-Fi) . If you are looking to get away from wifi then it's nice. They have an arcade and a lake. I love going on the 4th of July because they have A lot of fireworks and a huge bonfire and a DJ plus they have and a hay ride, at the end you will maybe get a popsicle. read more

I wish I could rate this place more than 5 stars. The staff and campers were extremely friendly last week when we camped here for the first time. The grounds are very clean and the bathrooms are cleaned on a regular basis. They have plenty of activities to ensure that you have a fun filled stay here. They have a game room above the bathrooms with two pool tables, an air hockey table, and much more. I did not see one bee the whole four days I stayed there. It is a very quiet campground. They have a guard patrolling the grounds at night to ensure the rules are enforced for quiet time. I highly recommend Taylor's Beach Campground. You will not be disappointed. Also, everyone in Howell is friendly. You do have to drive into town to find restaurants but it is well worth it. read more

If you are in search of a nice campground for your family or maybe just yourself and your spouse keep looking. We have been to many campgrounds in state and out and this one definately ranks at the very bottom of the list. For 45 dollars a night what they say they provide is very misleading. The bathrooms for example look nice but are very cheap, my first night there the shower water was very cold and the showers are controlled by a timed push button. I literally had to keep the button pushed in with one hand the entire time I was taking a shower for it to continue to work. The campground is at least 80 percent to 90 percent seasonal campers and it is more of a small community of people who all know each other and will make you feel like an outsider instead of a camper as they are. Not a very friendly place at all . The customer service and management is lacking and there website is very misleading when it comes to childrens activities. The other reviews on this page in my opinion are very accurate with the exception of Daren C.'s review. It may have been ok in the 80's, I was not there then so I can't really comment on that but I will say it is not good now and if I were you I would spend my money somewhere else if I were you. read more
