For those who like a more detailed review - If you are looking to travel the world, meet new people, volunteer, immerse yourself into another culture, practice yoga, learn about yourself, and experience the adventure of a lifetime, then WTA is right for you! I was referred to WTA through a friend of a friend that I had never met before. I was a little apprehensive, but I loved everything that WTA said their trips were about and was open to the adventure. I can honestly say that the WTA Bali trip exceeded my expectations in every way possible. Marina and Jorge are incredible people who love the world and all the good people in it. They want their volunteers to have the best experience possible and they did not disappoint! My advice - If you have read WTA's website and you like what their trips are about, sign up for a trip. You will not regret it. Be open to meeting new people and listening to their stories, immersing yourself in another culture, reflecting on your life, and seeing the world through another lens. I loved every second of the WTA Bali trip and can't wait to book my next trip! WARNING - You may fall in love with traveling with a purpose and never be able to travel any other way again.

I was looking for a group or organization to join where I could travel and make a difference while…read moredoing it. During the course of my research, I stumbled across the World Travelers Association and began following their work. Shortly after, Jorge Branco (the founder of the organization) reached out to me to advise of the next trip that was being planned - that was the beginning of something beautiful. Two months later, I found myself in Portugal with a group of well-rounded adventurers interested in the same things as me, looking for purpose and adventure. I was the only girl but the group really looked out for me and ensured that I was safe and having fun the entire time. What was experienced out there is truly indescribable. We surfed, rock-climbed, rode Segways, rode bikes along the coast, viewed historical viewpoints, and even attended a medieval festival that was at an actual castle. Most importantly, we volunteered at an organization for underprivileged youth and were able to actually make a difference. Leaving Portugal, I have never felt more inspired to do more, be more, and get involved in something bigger. The World Traveler's Association played a huge part in that and I will be forever grateful. I joined the organization with hopes of adventuring and making a difference, I didn't expect to make lifelong friends in the process - now I have accomplished both and cannot wait for the next big adventure!

We gave this company a try, and it was surprisingly harsh for what was expected to be a simple fix…read more Our car's trunk was stuck, and we called them to help pry it open. The wait time was thankfully quick, but Kyle, the person they sent over, was EXTREMELY rude. He kept getting short with us, saying how we should "be ashamed for pestering him". Sometimes he'd just give us a crowbar, make us try to pry the trunk open, and say stuff like "let's see how YOU like it". And after all that, he ended up leaving us with the job never finished. His final words to us being, "I don't like you, don't talk to me again"... Unbelievable. We're very likely never trusting this company with anything ever again.
