We stayed here a couple of weeks ago for the football.
Travelodge has taken over an old hotel so it looks a bit grander than other travelodges. The rooms are also wildly different as I had a massive room, while some of the boys upstairs had attic rooms complete with severely sloping roofs.
One thing Travelodge haven't updated are the floorboards, as not only can you hear your own creaking as you walk to the toilet, you can also hear upstairs wandering around and if you're unfortunate enough to be by the staircase, you can hear people trampling up and down stairs too.
Another thing that let the hotel down was a lack of air conditioning. An early-May stay isn't the hottest that hotel is going to be, but with old and bolted sash windows, we were roasting.
We also had to pay for parking, which seemed a bit tight as there were hardly any cars in the car park.
Alright just to put our heads down for the night, but I don't think I'd stay again given the choice. read more
