There is a smallish car park to the side but if you are coming from the town it is a few hundred yards so you don't need the car. I can get very busy at times but it welcomes people from all walks of life. They didn't bat an eyelid at people coming in in walking gear or those who where dressed to the nines. There was a main menu, a summertime menu and a kids menu. There were some interesting items on the menu but most of it was fairly standard fare. We ordered a pizza for our daughter fromthe kids menu which was a very decent £2.99. It consisted of a 7 inch pizza, chips and beans. The pizza I would say was of the frozen variety rather than home-made but there was a generous portion of chips with it. My partner and I both ordered the curries. There were two on the menu, a medium to hot and a mild to medium. We had one of each. They were accompanied by boiled rice and chips and a small portion of mini poppadoms. My partner also got a little dish of mango chutney with his but I didn't, I don't know why. Both meals were absolutely delicious. We followed up with two knickerbocker glories and a clotted cream cheesecake. The cheesecake was fabulous but my daughter and I were disappointed with the knickerbocker glories. It said fresh fruit but the fruit was obviously of the tinned variety and a little bit too much of that too. I had a coffee which was delicious and my partner had a pint of Reverend James which he said was spot on. The prices were reasonable at £7.95 for the curries. The restaurant is in a conservatory type wing of the hotel and is very modern and clean with arty photos of local places and things on the wall. Enjoyed it so much that we went again a few nights later. Can't comment on the hotel facilities though as we weren't staying there.

We frequented the bar a few times as the drinks were reasonably priced. I had a few meals here and I would put them a notch above the standard pub chain offerings. Portions were fair but you could tell sauces were straight out of a packet. The burgers are worth a punt though as they are sourced locally using the excellent welsh beef. On the whole I cannot be too critical as the price for a meal was perfectly reasonable and service was friendly. There arent many lunch time eateries in St David's so you should be on to a winner. Whatever you do dont be lazy and opt for the Dyfed Fish and Chip Bar further into the city as I had the worst meal I have ever had in my life there. I cannot comment on the hotel rooms as I was not a resident.

The hotel itself is very well appointed, with tastefully decorated bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms all in a pastel New England theme. Most bedrooms have a sea view and balcony. The bathrooms feature high-end toiletries featuring natural minerals and botanicals, if you like that kind of thing. There is a spacious bar and restaurant area, again with wide views, and an outside terrace area. I visited as part of a family party: the reception staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful, and very efficient. The staff generally were very helpful and friendly and room service was excellent. The bed was superbly comfortable. The food is good: breakfast consists of an extensive buffet, with hot food cooked to order. There's a separate lunch and dinner menu. The portions were very generous, so bear that in mind if you want to leave room for dessert. The only misfire was my starter of Jerusalem Artichoke with a truffle veloute and egg yolk, which was served with charred quinoa - the latter just brought a weird grittiness to the dish. That was a pity, as everything else ordered went down well. The steaks were particularly generous and cooked exactly as requested. The Spa consists of two small steam rooms, a sauna and an outside heated sea water infinity pool with a hydrotherapy area (a bit like a jacuzzi), with a swan-neck fountain that pummels your neck and shoulders like a massage. There's a large relaxation area with beds and sofas with complimentary beverages. Additional treatments include the usual range of massages, etc. A 90 minute session is free for residents, but needs to be booked well in advance as numbers are limited. Packages can also be booked by non-residents. Overall, this is a lovely hotel with very good rooms and service, and, with the Spa, makes for a perfect for a relaxing weekend break.

You can book ahead for a 90 minute access to the spa daily. It includes 3 sauna rooms, 2 wet and 1 dry. My favorite was the thermal pool with jets. It also has this swan neck jet which can be used to massage the neck. Bonus, it is an infinity pool, looking on to the beach. Its a wonderful experience. The daily breakfast, also included with the room is awesome too. You can order fresh cooked breakfast in addition to the buffet. Definitely a luxurious experience.

The staff were nice; the breakfast was excellent (though a little slow); the room was quite adequate. I loved the in-room coffee and tea with the fresh milk in the fridge outside. They were able to easily accommodate our party of three adults and two kids. They have free parking, right next to the hotel! A huge bonus! They have a lovely bar area when you come in with a nice selection of ales and afternoon cream tea and scones. There is also a very private sitting area off to the side, and some games for kids (or adults) to sit and while-away the grey weather. The location here is really prime; right in the square; St David's Cathedral is just a three minute walk down the hill and The Bishops pub, across the street, is an excellent place to grab dinner. The only downsides to this place are the price (a little steep), no ocean view, and it feels sort of in need of an up-date (though is quaint, nonetheless).

We were on a (muddy) walking trip so we didn't want anything fancy, just warm and functional with decent bedding and a friendly welcome. And thats what we got. We also got mould covered windows, ripped curtains, rattling draughty single pane windows running with condensation, stained bath and broken taps. Though exhausted from our epic coastal walk, we were kept awake much of the night by the flag flapping against the flagpole at the front of the hotel, the noise of people chatting on the pavement below. I'd forgotten just how useless single glazed windows were at keeping out the wind and the noise! Breakfast was hearty and enjoyable and in my case vegetarian. No complaints there! Unexpected entertainment arrived in the form of scene reminiscent of fawlty towers. The contents of someone's shower came running through the ceiling into the dining room soaking the carpet and spraying nearby tables that had been set for guests. Without missing a beat a staff member appeared with two towels and a plastic bollard to deal with what appeared to be a regular problem. Thankfully the tables that got sprayed didn't have guest sitting at them, but I noted that the cutlery and crockery didnt get replaced. Ew! Lets just say it was a memorable visit and that the staff were delightful. On the plus side, the location wasn't too far away from the public car park (parking is a nightmare in Tenby) and the town and beach were just a five minute walk in the other direction. This hotel has huge potential, but would perhaps be better aimed at the rough and ready end of the youth hostel market.

Situated on the Pembrokeshire Coastline, just a couple of minutes' walk away from the picturesque Tenby North Beach and Harbour; also the pubs on main street, the fort wall and St Mary the Virgin of Tenby. No parking, the nearest paid (free during off-season) parking down at North Beach - the five minute trudge back to the Hotel a bother and uncomfortable in inclement weather as it was for us. More a B&B. Nice welcome, hospitable reception from the amiable senior lady that runs the place with her husband. We had a twin room on the top (fourth) level.. accessed through endless stairs and winding corridoors, - the window overlooking the street below, with no view whatsoever other that the construction scaffolding hugging the building across the street. A bit cramped, but functional, cozy and comfortable, notwithstanding the loud conversations in the corridor and the grunts and groans from the adjacent room coming through the thin walls. Tiny tub, slightly cracked washbasin, ancient bath fittings, and cumbersome balance for hot and cold - not contributing in any way to the desired travel comfort. The room was newly refurbished. The bedroom area was clean and the bed was very comfortable with good quality sheets. I would say that the bathroom area needs modernising, but didn't affect our experience. We had breakfast included in our stay. The breakfast was rather tasty and well stocked. As a personal preference I didn't like the scrambled egg, as it had little taste. I suspect a pre mixed bag of eggs is used for ease of cooking. Overall I would recommend this hotel and consider it good value for money

With one of our beloved friends, a would-be DJ at the helm, the family-run Tenby House Hotel is populated by Jacks of all Trade left, right and centre. Really what you're here for is the booze and the atmosphere. The music is always pumping - it might not be your cup of tea but it's loud and it's perfect for a drunken dance. At Christmas the bar really comes alive with the twinkliest of lights and the most ostentatious of decorations, and it's the sort of place where you can't help but down a few shots to kick the night off. Also, if you're lucky enough to know any of the staff (and it doesn't take long... they're very sociable), you might find yourself in one of Tenby House's world famous lock-ins. These are always memorable, and if you get the chance, get involved. There's a great outdoor area for the smokers and sun-worshippers, and the place itself is huge. The toilets can get a little waterlogged but that's more down to over-zealous clientele than lazy staff. It's got character written through it like a stick of Welsh rock and the fact that such an enormous place gets packed out so easily is testament to its popularity. You can't holiday in Tenby or even nearby Saundersfoot without giving this legendary place a try.
