We brought our own travel cot and the staff were welcoming and very chatty. The food in the restaurant was absolutely brilliant. Many exquisite courses of well thought-out, perfectly cooked, beautifully presented food, every course felt like a real treat, for both breakfast and dinner. We were very glad we got a package deal that included the dinner, it was well worth adding in. The view from our room was stunning, just as it looked on the website (well, a bit rainier, but to be fair it was January). It was only a very short walk from the back of the hotel to the coastal path. We couldn't fault Warpool Court one bit and will be looking for any excuse to stay there again.

There is a smallish car park to the side but if you are coming from the town it is a few hundred yards so you don't need the car. I can get very busy at times but it welcomes people from all walks of life. They didn't bat an eyelid at people coming in in walking gear or those who where dressed to the nines. There was a main menu, a summertime menu and a kids menu. There were some interesting items on the menu but most of it was fairly standard fare. We ordered a pizza for our daughter fromthe kids menu which was a very decent £2.99. It consisted of a 7 inch pizza, chips and beans. The pizza I would say was of the frozen variety rather than home-made but there was a generous portion of chips with it. My partner and I both ordered the curries. There were two on the menu, a medium to hot and a mild to medium. We had one of each. They were accompanied by boiled rice and chips and a small portion of mini poppadoms. My partner also got a little dish of mango chutney with his but I didn't, I don't know why. Both meals were absolutely delicious. We followed up with two knickerbocker glories and a clotted cream cheesecake. The cheesecake was fabulous but my daughter and I were disappointed with the knickerbocker glories. It said fresh fruit but the fruit was obviously of the tinned variety and a little bit too much of that too. I had a coffee which was delicious and my partner had a pint of Reverend James which he said was spot on. The prices were reasonable at £7.95 for the curries. The restaurant is in a conservatory type wing of the hotel and is very modern and clean with arty photos of local places and things on the wall. Enjoyed it so much that we went again a few nights later. Can't comment on the hotel facilities though as we weren't staying there.

We frequented the bar a few times as the drinks were reasonably priced. I had a few meals here and I would put them a notch above the standard pub chain offerings. Portions were fair but you could tell sauces were straight out of a packet. The burgers are worth a punt though as they are sourced locally using the excellent welsh beef. On the whole I cannot be too critical as the price for a meal was perfectly reasonable and service was friendly. There arent many lunch time eateries in St David's so you should be on to a winner. Whatever you do dont be lazy and opt for the Dyfed Fish and Chip Bar further into the city as I had the worst meal I have ever had in my life there. I cannot comment on the hotel rooms as I was not a resident.

Proper mental gaff this. Part dilapidated. Part amazing view…read moreof the incredible beach below. Part hippy hangout. Whole lot of fun. It's off the beaten track that's for sure. And it's something of a higgledy-piggledy affair. Nothing matching here. Cork tiles covering some walls, barely any plaster covering others. But the whole effect is rather charming. A Mal Maison this is not. Nothing ubiquitous here. Or new. Or functioning quite how it should. The public areas are adorned with art work and brick-a-brack (that's the second time I've used that phrase in two reviews, must be something to do with Pembrokeshire) and there's a chaotic feel about the place. We had lunch in the dining room which had a slightly haunted feel, but I mean that in a nice way. Food was best described as home cooked and hearty. Warming and filling, nothing of finesse but all good stuff. Then we went for a walk in the garden. That's when you get the real charm of this place. It sprawls for ages and there are little nooks and crannies everywhere. A pond section with frogs and toads a-plenty (I think the owners have been busy licking those toads over the years) and beautifully tended beds full of overgrowing loveliness. Real romantic stuff. Walk down the garden and you get to a little bar which is situated below the dining room. It's a proper cubby hole. stone walls, low ceiling, plenty of people enjoying the view over the bay and drinking good local ale. You could hunker down there for a long afternoon turning into a long night for sure. And then of course there's the beach at the bottom of the cliff. We walked down at low tide and the whole thing was nothing short of stunning. Fine sand, imposing cliffs and rocks, pools for the kids to explore, horses to ride and not another person within 200 yards of you. Simply stunning. As an aside, the path that leads down to the beach has the wonderful sight of a Tellytubby house built into the cliff there. Turns out it's an actual house, rather in the Grand Designs mould, designed by the same company that designed the Media Centre at Lords. You can see the similarities. Really quite amazing. Back to the hotel for a mooch and a chat to reception who were ever so friendly and told me the place was booked throughout the year with people who come to gaze at the stars in the summer or brave the wind and cold in the winter. Rooms are all completely individual, some don't have bathrooms, some only a log fire for warmth. You get the drift. If you're after spas and mod cons, this place isnt for you. But if you're after long walks and a bit of a weird and wonderful time in a place full of character situated above one of the finest beaches I've ever seen, you've hit the jackpot.
