We worked with Tracey Kleber on our wonderful tour of Austria and Switzerland as well as a visit to Lake Como after the tour. Everything thing went perfectly until Delta Airlines stranded us in Atlanta on our way back to California. While Delta was giving us excuses and virtually no assistance, Tracey was on the case. She booked us a nonstop flight home early the next morning, booked a room for us at an airport hotel and sent the shuttle to pick us up. Girl was short and rude on the phone told her to forget my information and hung up. We got an appointment time at the county fair to watch a presentation and answer questions. They tell us that kids aren't allowed in the building. So we allowed the kids to stay in the courtyard . ( you'd think if they wanted to sell trips they'd take families into account but think again) This very thin blond older lady came out beside herself needing to " reschedule us" because we didn't listen to no kids on the promised. NO! We were told " No kids on the building " and we abided by that. This wasn't about our children's safety ( older teen boys mind you) This was about you winning something. Thanks lady. Wow! Sha Dev, we cannot thank you enough for planning the most amazing honeymoon for us! Paris, Florence, Rome...from beginning to end, it was just magical and flowed like clockwork. The only hiccup was a 2 hour delay of our flight from SFO - Paris (our driver in Paris was still waiting, even though we hadn't contacted him about the delay, so we didn't skip a beat!) Every tour was amazing, all of our drivers were waiting exactly where planned and always on schedule. Completed a tour to Europe this past winter 2019 and had a wonderful time over there. I sought this company out based on the Yelp reviews and that I needed help with my first international vacation. Pros: +Friendly staff +Great selection of activities/attractions at sites (Viator website) Concerns: -"Do It Yourself" Feel -Transportation Arrangements -Last Minute Cancellation While the staff at TravelStore were very friendly (main reason for the stars), there were a few reasons my overall review on the experience using the company was just okay: "Do It Yourself" Feel - We had been started working with them about a year before our trip (January 2018) where we booked the flights and hotel; however, a few months before we departed, we started looking into the tickets/attractions. When we looked for the Eiffel Tower passes, they were sold out and we were informed by TravelStore to try and show up early the day of if we'd really like to go - this would have taken several hours out of our sightseeing time. This brushed me the wrong way because we had been planning the trip for nearly a year and we ended up having to watch the website daily for a few weeks to see if the tickets became available. It also would have been helpful to have been informed that Eiffel Tower tickets sell out fast and to purchase those attraction tickets ASAP. Transportation Arrangements - It wasn't until 1-2 months before where we had to start doing some heavier research on how transportation works to get from/to the airports, hotels, train stations. It would have been helpful to have some options laid out and estimates on the cost to/from each venue, at least hotel/airport/train stations. We had to price these out on our own. Last Minute Cancellation - While we were in London for a walking city tour, the company had cancelled our tour earlier that day but had informed TravelStore at 4AM California Time. This wasn't TravelStore's fault so we don't blame them - it was just inconvenient as we could have used the time to do other things or even pay for a BigBus tour near the meeting point for our walking tour. Perhaps even an email/text notification from the Touring company about the cancellation would have been helpful. Overall, Europe was fantastic, but my experience working through this company was okay. I really wanted to love this company and book future trips with them; however, I just felt that I was doing a more work on my own than what I was expecting to. I had no idea what I was doing for weeks as this was my first international vacation and I felt pretty stressed and anxious about it up until our plane took off. It would have been helpful to have more guidance and support. read more

(friendly) Just had to send plenty of kudos for Tracey Kieber, your Travel Agent who booked for me everything I needed for a round trip to see an Aunt in Queen Creek, AZ, for four days/nights, 4/19-22/2022. I actually had tried to do this myself, but got so frustrated trying to coordinate all phases of the travel plan at the best prices and nervous about traveling by myself. So it was a great pleasure to meet Tracey when I called the TravelStore on Howe Ave., Sacramento. I didn't have to think of anything, just describe what my travel needs would be, including me being laughably picky. Tracey thought of everything in very personable encounter over phone and amazingly had everything put together by the next afternoon! I have a hard time managing luggage (which I bring the maximum!) and Tracey kindly and timely got me wheelchair aid from the front porch of Southwest's airport entry all the way to the entry of the airplane, including check-in and helping me to find the seat of my choice on the plane. It was absolutely amazingly, so much easier than I had imagined, esp. after the stories on news broadcasts about quirky airline travel behavior encountered during CV-19. Also included in Tracey's travel set-up for me was a rent-a-car, which turned out efficient and great low-cost -- even got a car just like my own, easy driving! And of course I was wheeled in a wheelchair from airplane landing to RAC upon landing in Phoenix :-) Awesome! It was even very crowded at both airports that day. Tracey had even given me instructions on how to use my cell phone for a "GPS Maps". The motel she had found for me was very neat and clean (Apache Junction), with an "on-the-run" mini-breakfast every morning, very friendly, helpful staff, and very reasonable rate and "deserty" surroundings. Also Tracey managed to call in my check-in info for me for my flight back home to Sacto., and had been there by phone for a couple of "help!" calls during my trip, always explaining in friendly personable manner details I was looking for. We worked with Jeanine who set up everything for us including airfare, hotels, ferries, and all private pickups. I gave her our budget and the 3 cities I wanted to go, and although the total cost of the whole trip was slightly higher than what I had told them, overall I recommend this company for planning your trip. Jeanine picked some nice hotels for us located in good areas in Greece where we went. They were all close to shopping areas in each city so that was great! The hotels themselves were not bad. I told her that we weren't looking for super expensive hotels but ones that were nice within a reasonable budget. The hotels all had great customer service so that was wonderful. My only negative thing to say for all 3 hotels is that they didn't have a good view, which my husband was disappointed by. I had asked that I wanted one of the hotels to have a view of the Caldera in Santorini, but we didn't get it. Which wasn't a big deal, but kind of a let down. I also suggested getting another hotel instead to replace the one that was chosen for us, but I guess it wasn't in their "network" so in the end we agreed on the hotel chosen by Jeanine. But again, it turned out to be a good hotel minus a view we wanted. Communication was good. Mainly done through email and phone. We also met in person twice to go over things and to get the travel documents. Overall, a good experience! There was one hiccup as far as a shuttle not being at the ferry station to pick us up to go to the hotel. The itinerary didn't mention anyone picking us up there either so we assume it should have been arranged by us to call the hotel first letting them know we were arriving. But aside from that, all the other private transfers were there as scheduled! And again, the hotels all had outstanding customer service that any question we had was handled. We went to Hawaii for a wedding, but decided to make a vacation out of it as well. Jenalee Rocamora was so helpful in all aspects from the hotel, car rental, flight recommendations, and an itinerary full of places and food! I changed our travel dates a few times, but each time she helped us stay within our budget and answered any and all questions. The hotel we stayed at was nice as well. 2 queen beds, a mini fridge, microwave, balcony and only a short walk to Waikiki beach. When we checked in, they waived our resort fee and welcomed us with chocolates, cookies, and a nice letter from their sales manager- an extra touch I'm sure Jenalee took care of :) her recommendation for a kayaking and paddle boarding company was probably one of the best experiences we had in Hawaii! I wouldn't have thought to use a travel agent, but we will definitely be contacting Jenalee Rocamora for our future travels plans! Knowledgeable, easy to contact, and very helpful. read more

I wish I could leave negative stars. I had to go through the Cal Travel store during the COVID-19 epidemic to isolate away from my family while I worked in a COVID positive only hospital. When I called to book my stay they hung up on me the first call. Ok fine, maybe we got disconnected, right? I call back, I can't even get someone on the phone and I am on hold for 2 HOURS!!! When I finally get someone on the phone I tell them I need to get an extension on my reservation and my room and they ask me what I do for work and I tell them (which is what qualified me in the first place) and they tell me I don't qualify for the program. I ask to speak to a supervisor and they tell me there is no supervisor around. I ask them why I don't qualify and they hang up on me. Still looking for a room. Thanks for nothing Travel Store. She responds to all e-mails and phone calls promptly. She stays within your budget and really listens to what you want from your trip. I am sorry to write a bad review. But for the sake of potential future customers I believe this review might be helpful. I booked a trip to Korea, Shanghai then back to Seoul with Stan at Travel Stire. Although I opted to pay extra to get the entry visa to China through their help and started the process three weeks in advance, they let things drop when Stan went on a vacation. I had to send a photo copy of my passport with overnight service ( the type of information a travel agent should know from previous cases) I was calling every other day even during Christmas break to make sure that I'd have the entry visa.( again what you hire a travel agent to do on your behalf) With more drama, I had the visa the day before my flight. Then the Shanghai flight was double booked because my cousin paid for another flight on my behalf. The Asiana airline said it would not be an issue refunding to Travel Stare since it is clear that the same passenger(me) paid for two tickets. That was January. Four months later and numerous reminder emails to Stan asking for the refund. I still haven't gotten it. read more
