My name is P. Hinton and on January 18, 2021 I secured Travis Watkins, 2837 NW 56th St, OKC, OK 73112, 405-607-1192 for assistance with my 2020, 2021 & 2022 taxes and received an email on November 26, 2025 that read, "We wanted to reach out to inform you that Travis Watkins Tax & Accounting is no longer offering state resolution services." To start, I paid them a total of $15,600.00; $10,000.00 to help settle taxes with the IRS which they filed the incorrect amount which was settled AFTER I had to contact my personal accountant and pay another $125.00 for her to file an amendment with the IRS to correct their mistake, and $5,600.00 to the State which has brought me to writing a complaint. Although the MSA (Master Service Agreement) that I signed states that they would handle my 2020 taxes they willfully accepted handling the other 2 years. This is shown on the OIC (Offer in Compromise filed with the IRS) and Packet-S (filed with the Oklahoma Tax Commission) which both settlement packets were initiated by Travis Watkins, which later I was told I could have handled both of these settlement packets on my own by someone. This was advice given to me by someone at the OTC years before any of the people that I know now at the OTC took over my case. To make this short, if you all request further information I was sent the following email that I have copied and pasted below. At that time when I called Travis Watkins and went back and forth with them in an email chain, which I have as well, what it boils down to is that they said that the funds that I have paid in to their firm have been "earned" and that my State taxes are "Pending a Waiver." I'm not sure what that means as I emailed them to be more specific. When I actually called up there to see what's going on, the young lady that was working on my case said that handling State Resolutions anymore "is not profitable." Like, really? I have tons of back up; email threads, phone logs that I kept, those individuals that I spoke with along with tons of documentation to prove my point. Is this even ethical for them to shut down someone's case without it being resolved? I was given an alternative after-the-fact and they did refer me to another tax firm but AGAIN, they wanted money to even get my case going. It's like I would be starting from scratch. Errors were made on both my Federal and State taxes by Travis Watkins which I was advised by someone at the OTC to seek a "good" accountant to have them file an amendment with the IRS. I did this and got my IRS debt reduced from $110,149.00 to $1,230.00 with no help from Travis Watkins due to the amendment that my accountant had to file and with the extra money that I had to pay my accountant. This has been a long and drawn out lengthy process and I have all documentation to support my complaint. All of this work done only to have Travis Watkins abandoned my case and they took my money without fully holding up to their end of the deal. I would recommend doing your homework first before dealing with Travis Watkins because the more I became involved over these past 5 years, I have learned so much and realized that yes...I could have done this on my own and saved $15,600.00 because for years I have always done my taxes. I went to Travis Watkins due to the amount of money I won from gambling. All along I was on the right course. In conclusion, my cases have been resolved but it took me working diligently with both the IRS, the Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC) and my accountant during and after business hours, being on eternal hold and mounds of frustration while I trying to conduct my own job here at work. I totally, unequivocally would not recommend Travis Watkins at all. read more

We started with Travis Watkins like 6 years ago, and this year, after paying them again, decided they were going to get rid of the Tax resolution department. We had I don't know how many attorneys involved from these tax people. Nicole was the last attorney that contacted us in 2025 and seemed to be doing more than anyone else has done to just be told this year that they were closing that department. That is fine, but finish what you got paid for. They won't refund our money or finish our case. We filled out paperwork from 21- 26 and to get the boot. Not cool Travis Watkins. read more

My wife and I received a letter from IRS about our 2021 taxes we had less than a month to prove we did not owe the back taxes or pay over $455k. I reached out to a firm a friend uses but they were not interested on such a short notice. Called Travis Watkins on a Friday face-to-face on Tuesday. Two weeks later taxes were amended with zero owed. Great communication throughout the process. Lessons learned don't do your own taxes have this firm do them instead. read more

Go to a biker bar and give all your money to a guy named Snake. Ask him to represent you at the IRS. I guarantee you will get better results than you will with TRAVIS W. WATKINS TAX . After paying them $3500 they ignored my account for over 3 years until I got a letter from the IRS with an additional $9500 in penalties and interest. They assigned at least 5 attorneys to my case and not one reached out to me. STAY AWAY.... FAR AWAY. Too bad there aren't negative stars. I'd give them a -5. read more

OMG! This has bee a full-fledged nightmare! These people are the absolute worst! Husband and I both had lost our jobs due to the Covid mess. We had to use our savings and cash out our 401k's just to make ends meet. Still unemployed we sought their services to help with our tax situations paying them $4000 we really didn't have. They assured us that they could most definitely help us with our tax bill of approximately 17k, especially due to our unemployment status at the time. Weeks went by, then month and now here we are 4 years later they have done nothing but make our nightmare worse! Their communication is horrendous! I cannot tell you how many people for the OKC office we have been through. They never call you back and/or takes days to return an email with absolutely no news and never any good news. The promises they made and never kept. We are sick to our stomach because we are now employed for almost 2 years now but making about 50% of what we were prior to losing our jobs. In the meantime, our penalties continue to grow and now we own close to 30k and were recently told that the IRS is not willing to negotiate our tax bill and that we must pay it plus the penalties. Why.... because we apparently now make too much? WTH!! This should have been fixed 2 1/2 years ago! Where is our recourse??? read more

They do not communicate at all. First email we received in 6 months was after we posted a complaint at the better business bureau. They did not complete our taxes by the due date after having our information for 6 months and we had to submit them ourselves. They will not speak with you on the phone or meet in person after the initial sales pitch. Period. You'll only ever speak with their poor receptionist. Do not pay them in advance of work if you still choose to go with them for some reason. read more

Last year I hired this firm to get my book keeping and quickbooks in better shape for my business. I paid them in advance to get everything current, as well as paying hundreds of dollars per month for current book keeping. After three months not only were the books not current, their staff had deleted more than 50 payments customers had made, triggering late notices to go out each one. After more than a month, they indicated that issue had been corrected, but there were still more than a dozen issues of paid invoices with deleted payments. They sent estimated tax payment statements despite not having prepared any financial statements to determine what might actually be due. I fired them for incompetence, and was never able to get a response to get any money back for the work they didn't do. After firing them, I get a letter from the IRS last fall confirming the firm no longer represented us. And then yesterday they sent me an invoice for Tax Preparation for 1099 for 2021. They never did any tax or payroll work for me or my company. When I called the representative she said everyone with an email got the invoice for $1,500 or $675 to get them current for 2021 tax prep. She didn't have a good explanation why I received an invoice despite them never doing any work related to the invoice. My experience is that they are really good at generating fees, but not doing the work. If they had ever apologized for dropping the ball, responded to my requests to get some of my money back for work they didn't do, I might not be writing this. They did not, so I feel I need to warn others of my experience. read more

I went to Travis Watkins hoping refile my taxes when my current accountant showed I owed $$$$ and I couldn't convince him to refile. TW said they wouldn't do it, either, but they would negotiate with the IRS on my behalf to keep my payments low and avoid penalties and interest and file my taxes for 2021. I thought that was as good as I was going to get and paid them their fee. After leaving, I was able to convince my accountant to refile and it turned out the IRS owed ME! I contacted TW to let them know I would not need their services (They hadn't done anything, anyway), and to request a refund. I was still being charged penalties and interest by the IRS, so they had not fulfilled their end of the bargain, but they said they had done other things for me and I would get no refund. Not sure what those things were, but they weren't the things stipulated in the agreement. $1500 for nothing. Merry Christmas. read more
