Sadly, I once lived here. Sadly, I only lasted 6 months. A crack addict named Rebecca lived across the hall from me. A convicted child-molestor named Stephen lived in the unit next to her. He drove a van with boarded up windows and the van had a cage in the back and it had a bumper sticker that said 'Real Women Drive Trucks'. He was a cross-dresser, so I guess he felt he had the end say on what women do. The lady down the hall passed out drunk while she was cooking and set the building on fire. There was a mentally impaired man who would scream in the alley behind the apartment every night from around 12-4 am. My next door neighbor would play the Filter version of 'One is the Loneliest Number' over and freaking over again all damn night. My kitchen was so narrow that my fridge wouldn't open all the way. I e-mailed the leasing agent, Annie, to let her know I was breaking lease early and that I would have the contractually agreed upon amount for breaking the lease to her by the next business day. She called to let me know that she thought I was really impersonal about the whole thing.
Dude...the only time we ever met was when she showed me the apartment. I was trying to lease an apartment, not be best friends. I e-mailed so it would be documented and able to be filed.
The whole experience was just whack: From rebecca the crack addict telling me that somebody had been murdered in my apartment and that my doorjam was broken from cops busting it in, to the crack head outside who always wanted me to get into his non-existent cab, to the crazy woman in the leasing office who thought we were besties, to the fridge that wouldn't open all the way, to the place nearly being burned down by a drunk neighbor, whack. all about it was whack.
