Manager told me that there was only one other incident of crime on property. Four months later, thieves broke in sixty units, and I get call in California where I am delivering truck. Guy tells me stuff is all in hallway scattered. I say OK take some pictures, so when I get there I can see if any was mine. Get to Macon, Unit was trashed, police didn't even want to take report, because they took one with manager. Tell me I am out of luck as far as ever retrieving anything. Thank you Macon's finest, meet you in the coffee shop next time I go through town. "NOT!" Well, I get to unit it was all trashed. Manager tells me he took some pictures, but won't do any good to see them? Says, he put every body's stuff back in each unit?? I ask how did you know what was what? Says it was simple, each person's stuff was in front of door. Apparently, the thieves were so methodical that they neatly dumped everything in a manner that allowed the "manager" to know whose was whose. Either that or he has great ESP. When I confront him on lie that he first told me that there has never been any vandalism, he fessed up and said, "Oh yea, we have had other incidents, but I never told you that???" Yes, if you want to screw yourself good, then rent from this pathetic place, I lost over six hundred dollars and none was insured. Do not believe this man when he tells you that there has been no vandalism or thefts. Sixty units were knocked out in a few hours, and they have replaced the flimsy hardware exactly as it was. In other words, it is a no brainer to go across town to rent. In fact, it is a no brainer to move from that city entirely. My stuff is in Atlanta, where the crime might be higher, but the units aren't like sardine cans waiting to be popped open. And who knows, if my unit is broken into, the Atlanta police might even write a report, so I can possibly retrieve my lost or stolen items???

First red flag should have been the fact that when I tried to rent a unit and move my stuff in, there was no one physically in the office nor anyone answering the phones even remotely to answer questions and clarify things. Second red flag was that after moving in, the front door's security was broken and literally anyone off the street could access the building. But I desperately needed a place to store my stuff. At the time, I was told the price I had was what would remain for the duration of my renting the unit and the reason that I couldn't get a better price was that it was the summer, and that the lower prices are in the winter. Accordingly, I was shocked to find my price increased, and more so, without any warning. I was told a notice was mailed, but to this day, I NEVER got such a notice. I called customer service, the national number, and was told to get in touch with the physicial store I was at because they don't have control over that. I asked, what is the purpose of the customer service line if they can't help provide service or resolution to issues, they said "we're just here for security issues." the fact the price increased during the winter months, which are notorious for having cheaper prices, makes no sense. Speaking with other customers at that location, who had rented units for over a year, they told me their price they had never changed, so it's incredibly out of the norm that my unit increased. Also, this is more than likely a health hazard. There was a dead bird in front of one of the units that was there for a couple months, indicating no one is cleaning the floors or doing any sort of inspection in the building.

I have called several times and they always say we have someone working on restoring the lights. The storm barely hit Macon and they claim the lights are out due to the storm. Then someone broke into the storages a few weeks ago. I just hope my things are in tact.

My sister Tiffany and I stopped by this post office in Macon, GA to mail a large number of envelopes, and we were running out of time. JoAnna noticed we were trying to get everything finished and, without hesitation, came over to help us place stamps on our envelopes. She didn't have to do that, but her kindness, patience, and genuine willingness to help meant more than she probably realizes. She was so selfless, understanding, cheerful, and caring. She truly went above and beyond to make sure we got everything mailed on time, and we are incredibly grateful. It's rare to see someone step in with such a positive attitude simply because they want to help another person. I'd also like to recognize her colleague who assisted me while I purchased the stamps. She greeted me with a warm smile, was friendly, pleasant, and professional, and made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish.
