My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Te Deseo's roof was great, but when paired with the cool fall weather, it became epic. Many of fellow Yelpers dressed in red while DJ Fiyah kept the beats going. A photo booth, lit Yelp sign, and in the middle was a huge bar that was well staffed and kept the good vibes going. 1 Star. Service - Kudos to Semhar for organizing such an event, but MUCHO kudos to the entire Te Deseo staff. The bartenders worked fast and were super helpful, while several of the staff walked around with apps and margaritas. The staff even took our drink orders while we sat in the comfy lounge seating. 1 Star. Food - Wow - this was the largest spread I've ever seen at a Yelp event. The wait staff passed out grilled octopus (smokey but a little chewy), street corn (this was amazing), and chips a guac. But the buffet spread of barbacoa tacos, steak, and rice gave me a great sense of the great food served here. But, my dear Yelpers, the churro in chocolate sauce quickly stole my corazón....twice. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes! It was served buffet style, so we were treated to an array of delicious dishes. The buffet included a variety of salads, hot entrees, side dishes, zesty toppings, AND dessert. We were even encouraged to get seconds! Yes, please & thank you :-) At first bite, it was obvious that all of their food {later confirmed by the manager} is made in-house from scratch. The flavor of each dish was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Everyone at my table raved over each item, even the hummus -- I need their recipe for that hummus. Lazy Dog has a beautiful exterior and interior, but maintains laid back casual flair. The photos of various dogs (mutts & non-mutts) lining the walls are adorable. There is also a patio with live music --- perfect when the weather finally cools. The host, hostess, and staff welcomed us warmly. We were also served our choice of craft beer or wine. This event was EPIC. Poppin Bottles Yelp Style!…read more Yelp had it's own VIP section. It was HUGE. You feel like your in the middle of it all. We were the party - within the party. The fog, lights, effects and the sound system. The lit up floor. I don't think some of the Yelpers were ready for what was gonna happen. We all danced and some folks finally got lose. Some were scared and others people watched. Everyone had a good time. Yelp had the whole section all night and our own bouncer. Pimp status! They were both very friendly and soothing. This lowered my WRATh a little. Once we signed in, we started talking to existing and now new friends and the WRAth is lowering down even more. The very attentive and friendly servers brought out our special drink "The Little Red Wasp" man this thing is spicy but I feel the WRath is getting even lower. The homemade pimento cheese and chips oh so very good. The Wrath is even lower. After having a great meal, Egg Salad Sandwich and a Breckenridge Porter, and the wrath is gone. Upstairs had a good view of the dance floor and 2 private rooms with balcony access as well as a pole at each table (upstairs and downstairs). That can get quite dangerous with drunks who think they can pole dance! haha. There was one central, elevated VIP table in the front of the dance floor. If I were to get bottle service that'd be the table I want! DJ that night played a variety of music, awesome beats. Loved it. No EDM/techno/house stuff (from the time I was there)--thank goodness! I was a little disappointed as I thought a Gatsby club would show more of a Gatsby theme besides the waitress uniforms. One dancer seemed high and all she did was bend over a majority of her time (my eye caught her bare buttocks many, many times). LOL. (Maybe I watched too much Gossip Girl & pictured fancier, themed parties with fancier decor). Themed or not, it still looked like a typical club in Dallas. Awesome lights though, but be careful where you stand on the dance floor--might get blinded by a beaming light! Although they kept addressing that the dress code was "dress to impress" I saw girls come in with jeans and plain tank top, flip flops, etc. Bouncer told us that Friday nights are girls' night (free cover), but when our friend met us up they tried to charge her. Miscommunication between staff maybe? Besides that, the staff was very friendly and helpful that night, but hope that lasts. If I were to go clubbing again (I've retired) I wouldn't mind gathering the girls to go here because of the music and diverse crowd.

I had sparked a conversation with Stephanie (about Michiganders, of all things) at the bar and I mentioned that I was expecting a bunch of friends to show up at 6:00. When no one arrived by 6:30, she came over and we had a great conversation about travel, about where I need to stop on my way to Waco (Czech Stop in West that I already knew about but also Slovacek's for a kolache) and what it's like driving around the country for weeks at a time and all sorts of other interesting topics.
