They scalp the yard every time they have speed racer cut it and as for edging, the idiot must be blind, he takes it to the dirt. Not to mention if you dare say something to them the employees, they tell you off. It's the only time they speak English. Don't bother calling the office, they are just as bad. I love going to Tree Top Nursery. I'm willing to pay a higher price for a quality product. However, in the past I've encountered staff that wasn't very friendly. Particularly the woman who appears to management. I witnessed her being rude to the workers, but Addie saved the day. I saw her interacting with customers with a huge smile on her face, and making everyone who came through her check out lane feel special. Addie is an asset. read more

Went over this past weekend to purchase landscaping and discovered there was an Arbor Day sale for 25% off. I bought 1 tree, and was planning to get another tree approved by our HOA. Ron was especially helpful. I went back to pick up my first tree on Monday and was told about a $27 bottle of root starter, that would warranty my tree for a year. I inquired about Myke, as I've bought it at Johnson's Garden Center, which is only $17, and gives the tree a 5 year warranty! The lady behind the counter smirked and moved a large pad, to reveal a signed adhered with packing tape to the counter that read, "No Myke warranty on trees & shrubs purchased on sale." I asked why, and observed calmly that this was a "very odd policy." The older lady clerk's response was, "well that's our policy and it's been that way for at least 3 years now." I further inquired why if a tree is on sale, would they not warranty it for the same amount of time? The price of the tree does not matter, and shouldn't effect the quality of the tree. Unless you are trying to pass off trees which are somehow faulty, or diseased at discounted prices... I don't really understand the policy. I only received further smirks and affirmation that "this is their policy." I pointed out that their policy is to also accept returns, and she could go ahead and process a return of the tree and cancel the other hold. I'm sorry, if they will not warranty their trees unconditionally, I'm not buying from there! Something doesn't seem right. Buyers beware!!! read more

We used to use them for landscaping and started noticing they would bill without doing the work. If you police them enough and make it a routine to double check what they bill, they can be reliable. Also tried shopping at their nursery and service is close to horrible. You can't even get them to get sales reps to sell the plants. Sad that they have potential to be the best in class, but drop the ball in so many ways. Don't waste your time with them. Go to Hongs or other nurseries in town with good service. read more

In October 2013, I had purchased a Chinese Pistache and Allee Lace Bark Elm from Tree Top Nursery and also had them deliver and plant. Cost of the 2 with planting was nearly $1700 6.5 years ago. Thursday we had a burst of wind and my Lace Bark was torn out of the ground and fell on my fence. I had 2 arborist come look at the tree and 1 landscaper looked at photos I sent him. All confirmed it was planted too deep and that it had girdled. Girdling chokes the tree of nutrients. It affects the stability of the tree. I had them look at my Chinese Pistache and was informed it was too deep as well. I performed a soil excavation on this tree and had to go 9 inches into the soil before I could find the flare (which should've been exposed when planted). I'd identified 4 girdles on this tree so I may lose it as well. Time will tell if I lose the Chinese Pistache. Looking back at the documents provided at the time, even the brochure Tree Top provided shows the proper way to plant. They obviously did not follow their own documentation. I do NOT recommend Tree Top nursery for your tree planting needs. I also recall they tried to bill me twice for my irrigation that was rerouted when they put in the other landscaping at the same time. I got a billed for that separately and then added to the landscaping billing. Do NOT recommend. read more

I love shopping at their store and have had great success with their landscaping services. They are very reasonably priced. During the terrible cold spell of 2021, I lost 3 Nandini and my Little Gem Magnolia looked near death. I called and asked about getting replacement Nandini (which were a few years old). I never expected to sell them to me half price since the ones I lost I had had multiple years. They gave me great instructions on how to try and save the Magnolia, and it came back beautifully. I have emailed photos of gardening problems and received great advice in return. The indoor gift shop/garden shop is lovely with great garden and gifts for purchase. Love Tree Top! read more

Called 4 times to have them to come over for some landscaping plans in my backyard. The lady who answers the phone keep transferred me to landscaping dept. Left Jerry 2 voicemails and didn't bother to call. Left one of their big shots Tod couple messages and he didn't return my call. Glad they didn't return my call otherwise I would've stuck with such an irresponsible landscaping company. I don't have to beg you to take my business Johnson's Garden are great. Will never ever shop here again. Bought 2 hydrangeas for a total of $118.00. One died within 4 days followed care 100% 2nd one is in process of dieing now. Spoke to tree top about the first one dieing and they made me feel like I killed it. Horrible customer service after the sale. I don't review businesses unless it is extremely great or extremely weak service. Being in business myself if I treated my customers like tree top treated me on this transaction I would be out of business. read more

Bought 3 Fat Albert Spruce trees from them and had them plant them in the fall. Next season two of them had brown needles. I took pictures of the trees and went back and talked to the girl who sold them to us. She said "it looks environmental" and started to walk away. I said so what should I do? She wasn't sure and had me talk to an "expert." He recommended a soil amendment. I talked to one of the owners & he recommended something different. Trees are still brown. read more

I'm really disappointed with service of Top tree's sprinkler system department in Wichita, KS. My sprinkler system was started-up in April already and there are several sprinklers not rotating correctly. I called and set up an appointment with top tree sprinkler department. On 06/02/2020, they sent 2 young men to adjust my sprinklers and they said there are 7 sprinklers that need to be fixed. They talked with their supervisor and I need another appointment. They charged me 1 hour ($70/hr) for coming and looking. I said to 2 young men to please give me a quote or proposal and an appointment date. They gave me no proposal and appointment after that . On 06/13/2020, one man showed up suddenly and did the job. Under our camera surveillance, only 1 man worked for 2 hours. Then they billed me for 4 hours with $70 an hour. I called Tree Top's sprinkler department to talk about this issue. The supervisor called me and said "I have to pay labor when he leaves the company to drive to the location." A lady from Tree Top's sprinkler department in office said "15 minutes will be rounded up to 1 hour labor payment." I called them and share my option for their future service in a fair way. They just forced and control customers the way they want and they don't listen at all. Please, don't let them do the job without proposal. I have to pay them 5 hours total ($350) + parts ($188.39) = $538.39 for simple replacing the part of the top of sprinklers, not digging at all. read more

Last year we added trees to our yard. My wife did not have sufficient time to visit Tree Top's nursery personally. She described our tree needs over the phone, and told them she would place flags in our yard where she preferred the tree placements. We paid by credit card over the phone, despite their concerns regarding us not picking out our trees in person. We were able to explain that based on their work for her father at his home, my wife trusted their ability and expertise. Despite this unorthodox request, Tree Top Nursery & Landscape did an excellent job. Later, when we observed that one of our new trees appeared abnormal, we called them and expressed concern. They promptly visited our property and evaluated the tree in question. After an examination, it was determined that the tree was suffering from transplant shock, so it was appropriately treated. The tree bounced back beautifully and we have since had no further concerns. As a result, Tree Top will have us as customers for life for any future landscaping or tree services. read more

They installed our irrigation, lawn, and landscaping on a new build home. We gave them a generous budget to design the landscaping around. They proceeded to propose a design that was over double the budget. We had to scale back their plan ourselves. When it was installed we were fortunate not to have gone with their original plan as the landscaping would have been way overcrowded. After installation two of the installed trees died, which were under warrantee. One of the trees they replaced with a much smaller one then what we had originally paid for, which we should have objected to, but let it slide. Later, the smaller replacement tree died too. To demonstrate we have a clue when it comes to keeping trees alive, our other trees all survived. I contacted them once a week for 3 weeks to have the tree replaced again. The first two times they didn't return messages. The third time they refused to replace a tree for a second time. The original tree was under warrantee. They planted it both times. They even installed the irrigation. But they won't take responsibility for the quality of their product or lack thereof. At tree top's prices I expect better and you should too. read more

I bought 2 trees spending $600 to include the cost of planting them. I discover the cost of planting does not include manure. The day they are to be planted Tree Top calls to schedule due to a sick crew member (I had called the week before asking to reschedule due to a schedule conflict and was told it would be next month before getting them planted if I did that), They came out the following morning. I live out in the country and when the wind blows it is quite strong compared to how it is "in town". The guy planted the crabapple says it should probably be staked. When I inquired about him just doing he says I don't have any stakes and I think there is a charge for that! I promptly go in to call Tree Top. Sure enough the lady says "we don't believe in staking trees so they will develop a stronger root system and if you would like us to stake it that will be a $35 charge!!!!! Brady nursery was out one month prior and planted 2 trees. They brought their own manure and one tree needed to be staked, which they did. I did not pay additional money for either items!! Even though it is a drive across town-guess where I will be buying my trees!! Brady's!!!!! read more
