So I was surprised when I called and asked if it was okay to use my Popeye's money (like canadian tire dollars but for Popeye's) from another franchise in this store they said they'd rather not. It's not that they refused to, but it was a bit of a put off considering this is an incentive to shop there, and I'd been a Popeye's faithful for years. Okay, so whatever. I'm a grown man and can get past that. So I go there looking for my usual-unflavored protein powder of a specific brand that I always got at the mainland Popeye's. They've got vanilla, chocolate, and probably some other flavors, so I ask if they have it in unflavored. The sales individual tells me that they don't make it unflavored. However I'd bought plenty of it in Vancouver- it was the Bio-x brand which is on their website. I felt put off by this inaccuracy since the Salesman seemed to be a manager. I then decided to spend my popeye's bucks on some powdered greens and left. It really surprises me that the Vancouver branches of this store have a better selection of more natural ingredient Powders considering the size of the stores aren't larger. Perhaps it's a demand thing here on the island. Everyone I spoke to who worked there was informative and kind, and quick to help. Overall the prices are pretty good.

The signs on the way out were somewhat difficult to see due to overgrown weeds the last time I was out that way, which didn't help. However, if you can find your way out there, it's worth a look! The farm is very compact, but they've managed to fit a lot in! The grounds are completely planted with the herbs they sell, and the first thing I generally do when I get out there is to take a walk around and enjoy the scents, which change with every step you take. There's a bench and a small gazebo for resting, and a small fishpond in one corner. In the middle of all this stand several small wooden buildings, covered from the elements but open to the air, wherein they house the ready-to-sell herbs. The prices are highly reasonable and the signage is useful for not only telling you what herb you're looking at, but what it can be used for as well. The main building is, again, fairly small, but they have a very well-stocked gift shop full of products that are made from the same herbs they grow and well, and the prices are, again, very reasonable. All in all, if you're looking for a place to shop locally, this is a great place to stop - not to mention the relaxation of being far enough away from the highway to enjoy our Island weather - and the sound of wildlife all around you - in peace and quiet.

Kim Borthwick, the branch manager was there and noticed I had trouble getting up from a sitting position. In addition to listening, she was paying attention to my body mechanics. My fold up walker was taken out to my friend's car and we were shown how to get it into the back seat. Easy once you know how. Another plus is that they have employees who do all repairs in the shop same location as their outlet.
