The nursery includes large water plant, native, indoor, veggie, herb, and cottage garden collections. Its easy to lose yourself walking along the rows of flowers, but the sections are clearly labeled and if you have any difficulty there's a little hut near the entry way where you can ask for help. Bulleen Art and Gardens is also very child friendly. There is a chook pen in the corner surrounded by fruit trees that is very pleasant, and little workstations with information about recycling and different plants. The staff are very friendly and always forthcoming with great advice and botanical knowledge, although you may have trouble finding someone to help when it's really busy. Make sure you check out the gallery space on your way out. The beautiful mosaics and funky sculptures are well worth seeing.

I've been to BAAG a few times and always forget that the place is a real disappointment. Poor…read moreservice, to the point where the staff either ignore you, or when you ask for help, make you feel just a little but stupid, because you aren't a horticultural expert. Plants always seem to be in a bad condition, with root systems that look like they've been in pots for ages. And, when I tried to pay for the plants that I wanted to buy (about $100 worth), me and the three other customers in line waited about five minutes with no explanation from the three staff behind the counter as to why they couldn't help us (I was there around 2pm during the week, so they weren't super busy). So, the general vibe is disappointing. And I guess if they say that their style is an acquired taste, then it's not to mine. So, Yelpers, next time I think about buying stuff from this place, remind me not to.

I can't speak more highly about John from Botanica Mowing…read more My garden was getting a bit out of hand and the list of garden jobs was growing but not getting done so I knew I needed some help! John responded quickly to my request for a quote which was very reasonable. His advise and knowledge of plant choices was first rate. Always arriving when he said he would and leaving everything impeccably tidy, he and Dean did an awesome job restoring my garden to its former glory. He went out of his way to organise quotes for restoring a timber structure over my fernery, sourced high quality plants and did everything he said he would quickly and without fuss. If you want an excellent job done by someone who is knowledgeable, professional and friendly, I doubt you'd find anyone better and I'll certainly be recommending him to friends.
