So I really dropped the ball with this review. I usually start with a bunch of photos, but I was…read moretoo preoccupied with taking in the charming ambiance, the veteran-created art pieces, the photos and stories all around honoring the legacy of the heroes who have served their nation, and getting to meet the interesting people inside. I realize the tiny structure is perfect for what this place is all about - honoring the stories each of us holds through connection and community. The coffee was smooth and flavorful, possibly the best drip coffee I've ever had (and I have had some really good coffee!) and I'm told by my wife that the chai was absolutely delightful. A small menu of drinks and treats may make this spot slip off of your radar - but you would be missing out on a magical little place that, as the name implies, truly has heart... and plenty of it.

Must check out! Grateful to have discovered on Yelp! I love all of the natural light, music (Jack Johnson when I was there), and overall vibes. Enjoyed the pour over coffee (takes time) and they had almond milk I could add on request. Has Heart Coffee Shop celebrates veterans and their stories. Their goal is to make sure every vet never has to pay for coffee. Located directly across from the GR Children's Museum entrance in Veterans Memorial Park. Street parking (meters / MOTU App) if you can get in before the museum opens.

I was overwhelmed at first with all of the information, but I am glad to have explicit instructions, particularly regarding healthcare. We are told exactly how to handle medical appointments so that we are not legally responsible for the bill. We are given instructions on enrolling the kids in school and sports. They have extensive information to help your family and student adjust emotionally and mentally. Cetusa manages arranging their travel and they keep in contact with the school and host families throughout the student's time here. They are helpful in arranging alternative placement if your family is traveling without the student, and they're generally supportive of you bringing the student along! I have given 4 stars instead of 5 because I do think the expense to the student is astronomical! Our current student said she paid $13,000! I honestly don't know what that money goes to. They told us that it's illegal to compensate families for hosting. Which, seems like a good rule, you wouldn't want people hosting just to make money. Still, I just can't fathom what adds up to $13,000. If it were more affordable, so many more kids could have this experience. The coordinators also seem to be given way more students than they can place. I often see them scrambling to place kids last minute or encouraging families to host more than one. Overall, we have been pleased with Cetusa! We have even gotten some friends to host this year as well!

We felt very supported while we were hosting. Definitely an amazing experience to welcome a student from another country into our home!
