So do them a favour and pass them by and go find one of the many other options available steps away. 1) One of the servers was not willing to provide a glass of tap water after our entire group had ordered beers and ensued to argue that he wanted to charge for the tap-water and that one of our party was stupid for thinking a glass of tap water would be free. 2) Not being a fully fledged German speaker myself, I decided to go for the Alsterwasser, as pointed out in "their" English menu that this was their version of a "Radler" Upon delivery of the drinks from possibly the female owner or boss? I declared "Radler" to her which seemed to confuse her and for unknown reasons trigger aggression. One of our party who spoke German was able to decipher that the she said Radler is for dogs and to go drink it outside with them. We mentioned that it states in your menu that this was your version of Radler. Utterly bizarre mentality and reaction, we took our money elsewhere for drinks/food. The space is fantastic--large enough to avoid crowding, and with a heterogenous mix of people, from business types to the artsy set, to everything studentisch. And--the espresso is some of the best in the city! For one euro!

Nothing much else has changed, which is good, because it's a pretty damn cool bar. However it has two large flaws: Firstly its location. It's on the top floor of the Thalia theatre, which is up a lot of steps. Much worse than that it's in the centre of the city, which although it sounds good, is actually a rubbish place to put a bar in Hamburg. Secondly, it invariably has events on, where you'll have to pay a cover charge of about EUR10. If I was a fan of the band, then great, but mostly I just want to come here for a drink, so it's a problem for me. Check the website before coming because it's a long way to go to then realise that you don't want to enter. Anyway, when you actually make it to the bar you'll probably be slightly amazed, even if you see great bars almost everywhere in Hamburg. The seats are comfy. The place is huge and airy, but cool. They sell Augustiner AND Tannenzapfle beer :)
