I heard good reviews about trek mountain bikes (electric versions) and wanted to try one out. Trek Cranberry was very helpful and knowledgeable about their bikes and I had a great chance to test ride a Trek PowerFly 4. I was very impressed with the whole process. EDIT: I called and spoke to a manager about the issues I had with the tuneup I had done. He was extremely polite and was kind enough to refund my money. I'm still not sure I'd take my bike back to them however, if I ever decide to purchase a brand new bike or have a new one tuned up, I would consider giving them another chance. They just seem a bit flummoxed by older cycles. So, I'm just going to strip down my old bike, repaint, replace a few parts and suck it up and buy the tools I need. At any rate, if you have a newer bike, go for it. If not, consider trying someplace else or doing the work yourself. Well, $60 later and my bike is still not fixed. I brought in an older, pretty well cared for bike to have the basic tuneup done and have the back brake checked. Here's what they say they do for the Silver Tune up package: Silver Tune-up Package Includes adjustment of your shifting & braking systems, tire inflation, a complete functionality and safety inspection, and (of course) chain lubrication. 1: Back brake is still way too "soft." (i.e. Not fixed.) 2: The chain definitely doesn't appear to have been lubed AND when I told them how old the bike was (90's) the kid at the register said, "oh, if it's THAT old we'll have to do the $80 tune up and lube the chain and stuff." 3: They claimed they changed a brake line - certainly doesn't appear that way. All the lines are still the original lines. 4: The front tire is flat. They clearly did NOT inflate or check the tires. The ONLY difference I can see in my bike at all - they straitened the front reflector attachment which had been bent. I will never bring my bike here again. Aside from all the things they don't seem to have done and yet charged me for, the attitude I got from the (very young looking) clerk made it even worse. I will be calling and complaining first thing tomorrow. read more

I went here as a beginner. I just bought an indoor bike and wanted shoes that would help me. The lady working was extremely helpful with getting me into the right shoes, as well as explaining to me the difference between them all. She even went as far as to explain how to add the cleats. It made me feel comfortable in an area I know nothing about. read more

Time management level "below Mariana Trench": stopped by on June 3 and scheduled a Level 1 maintenance appointment for June 11. The bike was not even looked at by June 20. Picked it up with no maintenance performed. Look, I know pandemic and all that kind of stuff make good excuse - I don't mind waiting - why did YOU ask me to bring my bike for service on June 11 if you knew you are that behind? Why would not you say bring it on June 20 or September 1 - any day when you could actually work on it? Besides, it was supposed to be only a simple Level 1 maintenance... I am new to the world of cycling and loving it. These guys (and girl) have been a huge help and a lot of fun to know. I bought two bikes here and a lot of gear necessary to get going in the sport. I anticipate buying a road bike next year and will be headed here first to see what they recommend. I needed a wide shoe and they sent me to another shop because they didn't have my size. This shows me that they care more about me getting the right gear fast than just making a buck. If you are new to the sport or an avid rider I recommend checking this place out. Drove all the way out to Cranberry at the posted opening hour (10am) just to find a sign stating "current daily hours" opening at 12 noon. I wish I could just change my daily hours without telling anyone. I'm sure the store is beautiful and the staff very helpful; I'll let you know at 12 o'clock. read more

Just went to look for a new bike at this location. I wondered around for about 15 or 20 minutes, the three employees working in the store never even said hi or asked if I needed help. I finally left as it felt awkward and I got the impression the Trek employees did want to do any work. read more

Nice guys , however after buying a new high end road bike I noticed in the shop that the front derailure had bad chain rub . Also on the rear derailure the lower ( L ) limiting screw was almost backed completley out ? I mentioned this to the two employees working at the time and was informed that it would be tuned .When I picked-up the bike approx. 4-5 day later I was told the bike is all tuned-up . Well not really ! When I got home the chain was rubing even more on the front cage and the rear coggs were not indexing correctly . I would buy again because the price I was given was great compared to other shops . Some younger guys working there who might lack the skills? With the money I saved I will take the bike to my usual mechanic to have it tuned . read more

We stopped by tonight in search of a hybrid bike. I have been riding an old kids bike I bought from Dicks and thought it was about time I invested in an adult bike. I first called the Wexford Top Gear shop, and spoke with Kevin. I told him the type of bike I wanted, my height, and that I wanted something comfortable for both the road and light trails, and he told me I was probably interested in a Verve. He told me the Wexford office didn't have a 13 inch, but the Cranberry site did. We drove to the Cranberry site and met Jim, who was very helpful, knowledgable and patient. I was able to take the bike outside for a test ride and loved how it rode. In addition to the bike, I purchased a softer gel seat and kickstand which Jim installed for us. I also got a complimentary water bottle holder and plastic water bottle, though the positioning of the holder on the Trek isn't in the best location, as my legs can slightly brush up against it. I don't usually rate purchases, but needed to share our experience. We figured after more than 35 years, my wife and I should consider new bikes. We visited numerous stores with some helpful people, but without a doubt this store had the most thorough information. Everyone we talked to were helpful and knowledgeable. We tested a couple of different bikes with no pressure. The parking lot and surround low traffic roads (for Cranberry, PA) were a great place to do test riding. The Trek brand has a quality bike for any person or situation and all price levels. Our initial visit could not have been better. I thrive on getting as much information as possible and Jim did not disappoint. Could not have asked for anymore attention without being pushy. Because of the information and pleasant atmosphere we returned to make our purchase. We finally decided on the FX3's and they allowed us to switch out the tires to go a little wider because of the Rails to Trails riding coming up. If you need any help in deciding which bike or accessories to buy, don't bypass the opportunity to visit this shop. read more
