As an adult, I've enjoyed cycling since the late 80s and having previously worked in a shop myself, was looking for a place that could not only fix my bikes but one that I could develop a relationship with. The kind of bike shop you could hang out in, swap riding stories, plan rides and maybe even learn a little something you didn't know about your bike. After visiting a handful of shops I walked into Just Ride Bikes and Fitness. Just Ride had that bike shop vibe, which was like going to that place where everybody knows your name. You know that place, right? When I walked into Just Ride, I was greeted by Brian who is the owner. Brian was friendly and knowledgeable of not only the bike business but the local cycling scene as well, which was invaluable to a new arrival to the great state of Tennessee. Brian's staff were equally helpful and great to talk bikes with. After that initial visit, I brought my mountain bike in to have the dropper post serviced. Brian got the job done quickly, kept me abreast of the status of my repair and made sure the service cost remained reasonable. My dropper post now works better than when my bike was new! For riding the Creeper and other trails in the area I bought a Trek Checkpoint gravel bike from Just Ride. Brian made some great suggestions for which gravel bike was best for me and made me a very reasonable offer on the purchase of my new Checkpoint. I also completed my first shop ride with the Just Ride crew, which was a total blast and I can't wait for the next one. I've been to shops where no one who works there actually rides but the guys at Just Ride are cyclists of all levels whom you just might see if you're out on the Greenbelt trail or elsewhere. I've found bicycle shops that have practically no inventory and everything has to be ordered for you to shops that stock mostly the super expensive stuff that you probably don't want or need. Just Ride keeps a nice selection of bikes and accessories in stock that you'll actually want, including products for the serious athletes to those riders who just want to get some exercise and enjoy the road/trail. I found the staff at Just Ride to be honest, welcoming and very competent. I'm happy to have found Just Ride Bikes and Fitness and they are now my go to shop in northeast Tennessee.

I expected more being the only 'brick and mortar' bike shop in JC.. what I got was a room packed with solely mountain bikes from, not a handful, but a couple of different companies.. it felt like a soulless corporate stand at a bike convention. I now understand the two employees lack of enthusiasm for such an absolutely depressing environment. If you have a passion and genuine interest in bikes, dont bother for your hearts sake

I went to The Bike Shop to purchase a ramp for my Kuat bike rack. I purchased my Kuat bike rack…read morefrom them 2 months ago along with two E-bikes from them. I also was having trouble with my front break chattering and needed replacement cover for my charger port. The young man (I won't name) sold me the ramp but refused to install it for me unless I would agree to crawl under my vehicle, unlock my rack and bring it inside where it was cool so he could install the ramp brackets inside the store. He informed me "it's too hot out here and I'm not going to get all sweety so you have to bring your rack inside". I am 80 years old and was not able to remove my bike rack so I stood in the sun on 94 degree day and installed the ramp brackets myself. Great service guys! I also had to make four trips as well because of bad information given about wrench size and the fact that they needed a key (informed after I got to work.) When I got home and on the trail my front break had the very same chattering problem. I'm not giving up just yet because they are the only game in town for Specialized bike repair.

I have rented e-bikes before so I guess I figured that their bike was similar. I was used to…read moree-bikes that had a throttle like a dirt-bike. The one they had you have to peddle to go anywhere and we ended up going 16 miles roundtrip. They have"peddle assist" but if you don't peddle than you don't go anywhere. I really didn't like that part. The main guy there was kind of grumpy also. So I rented a bike for 3 hours and it was $39 with $7.50 taxes, totaling $46.50.

Even though it throws a code on the display, Shimano apparently doesn't know what their own code means. Young man behind the counter says he doesn't remember when i brought the bike in but he will talk to shimano today since they are not open on the weekend. I brought the bike in 9 days ago! Says i should just buy a new bike. I will be buying a new bike but it won't be a Norco or from Local Motion. Trek and Bosch will be my new ride.
