A fish tank. A TV is on the ceiling of the clinic I was in. But what I mainly noticed was what was done during my scale and clean. It's one of the best ones I've had and i was thankful for the fluoride foam on the tooth tray which was at the end. My old dentist uses a blue gel which is fairly gummy and it's kinda gross seeing as you're not to rinse it out for half an hour. They smear it on with a cotton wad and it gets all over my lips and tongue. X-rays are instant. They show up on a computer monitor also mounted up high so that you, the patient, can it straight away. They also took some photos using a tube camera of the tops of my teeth which were also displayed instantly. I got a care pack on leaving, containing a toothbrush, two mini toothpaste, a stick flosser and magnet. Should you be too early there is also a cafe just two shops away.

She is gentle, very sweet, listens to you and is very accurate. She did all my procedures, and I was really happy with her work. I highly recommend her! I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for my appointment. They generally aren't overly booked, so I could always get an appointment within one week. Reception staff is friendly and capable also! Great dental clinic. Highly recommended.

I saw Michelle Yu for a check-up and clean, she was friendly, professional, gentle and best of all I wasn't in there for long! Clean done in 10mins and I was out the door. They gave me a free goodie bag too (few little tid bits in there such as toothbrush, toothpaste, floss etc). As someone who doesn't like the dentist (who reeeeally does) is rate them highly.

I was always nervous seeing dentists yet Dr Sun was very gentle and did a fantastic job on my teeth that I didn't feel the pain at all. The cost of my treatment was very reasonable as well. I shall strongly recommend Dr Jessica Sun as our family dentist. On another note I referred a couple of my friends to see Dr Sun and they all had the similar experience like I had. A dental group that doesn't judge!…read more After visiting Essential Dental Group a few times (turns out my teeth have more than a few fillings) I was whole-heartedly ready to recommend this to others, and have done so. The business was recommended to me by my doctor, whose advice I trust. I actually decided to drop in to Essential Dental before my first booking, since I was in the area. When I asked for an initial booking, I expected to hear "Well, we have a space opening up in about 5 weeks..." and instead got, "What time? This afternoon?" There's always an opening at Essential Dental, but I can attest this has nothing to do with the quality of work here. Hidden away on the top floor at Paddington Central, even some staff working in the larger complex had to be informed by me that the place actually existed. Not only have I been able to book appointments at the last minute, they're also fine about cancelling appointments, too (which I don't like to do to them because they're so damn nice. Even if they are dentists.) And the appointments are very, very cheap relative to that of other dentists. The dentist himself is aware that people like to watch their money, so he'll give you several options for immediate action if you're cash-strapped during a particular appointment (or want to chicken out of another filling). Or, if money is no object, he'll fix up whatever you want then and there. I knew I had a few issues with the molars up the back when I rocked up here. I expected the usual dental professional's overreaction to their state, which looks fine to me but has had other dentists practically fainting. At Essential Dental, the dentist just nodded indifferently at my molars and went ahead with the job. No judgment whatsoever. Unbelievable. He didn't even accuse me of not flossing enough, or tell me the way I'm brushing my teeth is wrong. I'm still stunned. Get your teeth done here. I hate having to go to the dentist - the drill is surely intended as a torture instrument (the film Marathon Man proves this). But if you gotta go, go here.

Highgate Hill Dental Centre specialises in general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry. I've had one filling done here and it was a quick and painless process, and the same goes for my regular check ups. My dentist is William Wang, who's always super friendly and considerate of his patients' experience. He'll ask you to raise your hand if you're feeling any pain, and will give you a step by step lowdown of what he's up to - e.g. if an injection is about to be administered, or if he's laying down a coat of fluoride. The DAs are also very friendly, and the general atmosphere is casual and relaxed. The surgery itself is a renovated Queenslander - a quaint, painted cottage close by to the South Bank train station. Overall, the clinic maintains a homey atmosphere without compromising its professionalism; the staff are fantastic at what they do and that's why I keep going back. Also important to note: the latest 'check up' reminder card I received from them featured a cartoon tooth surfing. 'Nuff said.

(In case they look up my appts) well if I could have left I would of because I was a nothing in the chair and all she spoke of was Finnishing the day to go out . the last one was another new one very rough they didn't even have the decency to tell me there'd be another new dentist . when I asked the receptionist said they must have missed me when sending out notifications the other thing was each visit I had to get fillings redone why I ask because what they use doesn't last long. Having had every tooth-related experience in my lifetime (think plates, braces, teeth-removal,…read morewisdom teeth removal [commonly referred to as chipmunk face] and retainers), I'm pretty fussy when it comes to deciding who can touch my teeth. At BOH Dental, I'm more than happy for everyone there to touch my teeth. Well, not the snotty-nosed kid next to me in the waiting room, or the reception staff...OK, anybody with dental qualifications; just so we're clear. So I had a delightful experience visiting this clinic for the first time - the reception staff were friendly and guided me through the obligatory paperwork prior to my appointment. The appointment actually began on time (rare for a dental surgery) and I was ushered into a spacious room, complete with sweeping views across the city. It felt more like a setting for a restaurant, rather than a dentist's (added bonus for those terrified of dentists). My dentist was absolutely lovely, he gave me tips on flossing techniques and we became caught up in a discussion over the benefits of adding fluoride to Brisbane's water supplies. Upon completion of my appointment, he walked me up to the reception desk and said he'd offer me a 20% discount because he was so impressed with my teeth. I'm definitely looking forward to my next check-up in one year!

Peter Haines at MJ Mylne Dental has been my dentist for the last six or seven years, and I'm very…read morehappy to keep my records there. Peter's a gentle older guy, very good at explaining what he's going to do prior to diving in without warning. When I told him that I get anxious about needles, he actually listened, giving me plenty of warning (and numbing gel) and talking me through everything. I assume this is his standard way of operating, as this is one of the reasons he was recommended to me by a workmate in the first place. The dental nurses and receptionists at MJ Mylne are also all lovely to deal with. There's generally very little wait time, and fillings are performed very quickly. There's another MJ Mylne clinic at Cleveland, and Peter spends his time between the two clinics, so some days he is available at Cleveland and other days at Capalaba. I'm abstaining from five stars for MJ Mylne Dental because in the last twelve months I had to take an appointment while Peter was on leave, and I wasn't a fan of the younger dentist who took my appointment. He was quite rough and spent the duration of my appointment chatting (to the point of flirting) with the dental nurse. Not Very cool - and yet if anything, made me more confident in choosing Peter as my dentist.
