Prices are what you'd expect from a tourist location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of places to get food and beverages. Definitely worth the trip, but I understand it's absolutely packed on weekends. I have some mobility issues, but there are plenty of places to sit. I think most of the grounds are accessible for a wheelchair or baby carriage, but the ground is a bit uneven in places so you need to be careful. One thing to note is that most shops are not really wheelchair accessible, nor can they accommodate a stroller, although some have ramps. The shops are quite full of merchandise, so it would be hard to move around with a wheelchair or stroller.

This location also has a bed-and-breakfast which I thought was neat. There was also plenty of parking. I made two purchases, one was from LEH Soap and I got a room spray. Then I went into this candy shop called Sweet things and got some delicious chocolate covered pretzels as well as chocolate covered rice crispy treats. If you like to spend some of your day in a cute little shopping area I definitely suggest checking out Smithville.

I was browsing and taking my time, carefully looking at items, feeling the materials, and taking photos of a few pieces to send to my mother, who was nearby in another shop. My mom, who walks with a cane, had offered to buy me some fall items, and I thought it would be easier to show her photos rather than have her come into the store. From the moment I entered, I felt unwelcome. The woman, who I assume was the owner, ignored me at first (which I didn't mind, as I prefer to shop without assistance). But when she saw me taking photos, her attitude shifted dramatically. She began following me, questioning whether I was genuinely interested in the clothing and implying that I didn't belong there. I apologized for taking photos without asking and assured her that I would delete them. I even tried to show her that I'd only sent them to my mom. Despite my efforts to smooth things over, she continued interrogating me in a condescending and suspicious manner. What upset me most wasn't the issue with photos--it was the way she treated me. I couldn't shake the feeling that her hostility was rooted in something deeper. As a Spanish-speaking, brown-skinned woman, I've experienced this kind of profiling before. Her behavior made me feel unwelcome and judged, as though I didn't fit the "type" of customer she wanted in her store. At one point, I had several items in my arms and was planning to try them on and purchase them. But her attitude became so off-putting that I ultimately put everything back and walked out. My mother, who had joined me by then, agreed that the experience was terrible. It's unfortunate because the boutique does have stylish clothing at mid-range prices, and I was excited to support a small business. However, no product is worth tolerating such blatant disrespect. To anyone considering shopping here: proceed with caution, especially if you're a person of color. My experience left me feeling humiliated, unwelcome, and deeply disappointed. I hope the owner reflects on how her actions affect potential customers. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, and that clearly wasn't the case here.
