Called E&C for a quote and they arrived on time when promised. Bid was provided quickly and…read moreaccepted. They then told me when they would be onsite to do the job (siding). They arrived that morning exactly when they said... which is not typical for many contractors. The work was excellent. They kept in communication with me and told me about some problem areas that were discovered during removal of the old siding. They could have just covered these areas up and moved on, but they wanted it repaired right, so they cut out the old wood, installed some new sheathing, and then sealed all the windows properly with Vycor (self sealing tape). They installed house wrap and then the siding the way it should have been done the first time. Based upon their attention to detail it is quite clear this siding job will last for decades. Very pleased with the quality of work and the entire experience. Even their cleanup was superb - they used tarps to catch debris and even went over the entire area with a magnetic sweeper to pick up any dropped nails. Cannot say enough about these guys - they work hard and deliver a quality result. E&C is now on my short list of contractors that I trust and use time and time again. My siding is now better than new and I hope I don't need a new roof anytime soon, but if the next big hail storm hits I can promise you I'll be contacting E&C without a doubt. Well done guys. Products used: Tyvek House Wrap, Vycor Self-Sealing Membrane, LP SmartSide pre-primed siding and trim.

Purchased a home in Oct 2011 that had its roof replaced by Huber Home Improvement in late…read more2003/early 2004. Seller's disclosure indicated they had roof problems that had been repaired a few times by Specialty Roofing in 2011, but didn't indicate why they didn't resolve with Huber instead. Now I know! After a hard, wet spring I discovered leaks in the same area of my house, in the closets of my master bedroom and one of my spare bedrooms to either side of the second story dormer. My walls, ceiling and subfloor in each closet are destroyed, and a few roof joists are spongy and decrepit from long-term water damage. I had it inspected by a local roofing contractor and found out that nearly EVERYTHING about the roof installed in 2004 was incorrect on the north side. No starter shingles, no boot installation originally (Specialty Roofing did the installation- poorly- in 2011), no tin shingles in the valley on either side of my dormer, incorrect spacing between the edges of each shingle layer (they are regulated to be at least 5" apart to cause a brick/overlap effect- most shingles are within 1.5" of each other), and no WinterGuard underneath the asphalt shingles, the list goes on! The whole thing is a complete mess, and there is no way to "patch" a whole north roof which means I need to replace it and the damaged joists before I can begin repairs to my interior. The "customer service" is an oxymoron with this company-- After leaving several voicemails with the company since May 27, I finally got in contact with Julie around May 30 and explained the situation. She didn't come out to inspect the property until the following Wednesday, June 5, and when she did she didn't come with any sort of ladder to even get up and VIEW the roof. Thankfully, I had already contacted Ace Roofing and gotten several photos from Charlie to show her the problem areas and ask for resolution. She said she'd "get back to me" and would "talk with the guy who actually did the work," and for nearly a week I got nothing but voicemail from all three numbers I had from the company. Finally got her on the phone again on the 10th, at which time she sounded exasperated even though it's ME who is dealing with over $10k in damages now from her company's bad workmanship and continued neglect. I asked the SAME DAY she came to inspect the roof on the 5th for her to get in touch with her insurance company and file notice. Instead I finally got a nasty e-mail from her on the 11th of June denying any responsibility since their "warranty" wasn't with me, it was with the previous homeowner. My claim has nothing to do with a PRODUCT warranty and EVERYTHING to do with their company VIOLATING CITY CODE. I have since filed claim with their insurance company, had two independent claims adjusters and an independent engineer inspect the household, and their insurance company has offered to repair my interior based on Huber Home Improvement's reckless work. However, the company is not insured for the workmanship itself, and I will have to take them to court and pay even more out of pocket just to get a resolution! They are now dodging my calls and e-mails as well as their own insurance company's. I want to make sure their online reputation is sore from here on out. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. They have no interest in taking care of their contracts, no matter how poorly completed. This is why Specialty Roofing had to be called to complete the poor patch work in 2011-- Huber Home Improvement never returned the seller's calls! THREE MONTHS LATER THIS IS STILL UNRESOLVED. PHONE CALLS AND E-MAILS ARE STILL BEING IGNORED. BEWARE!!!!
