After less than 3 months, I just canceled my auto insurance coverage with Farmers insurance. I…read morewant to be reasonable but the service I received was 'fair' at best. Farmers raised the auto premium when they found out they didn't also get my homeowner coverage. I never guaranteed they would also get that coverage. Non did I ask for that discount. I talked with Mr Crosby who said that 1/2 of the increase would be refunded when I moved into my new house. I notified Mr Crosby in writing that I moved in on July 24 and never heard anything until I pushed the issue on August 9th. Instead of a prorated refund, Farmers only refunded 20 percent of the increase. I don't tolerate game playing so I spent time shopping the coverage. I found even better coverage at a lower annual cost and canceled my coverage with Farmers. I had coverage with Farmers Insurance before in California and never had problems. But I would never get coverage from them in Virginia! If you quote with Farmers, be very careful!

When I wrecked the family car a few years ago, there were absolutely no issues with the claim. A phone call, a couple of papers and almost no change in rate. They handled everything and were 100% awesome throughout. Made teenager me feel a lot better about the whole thing. Also, while Carol herself is awesome, there is a woman who works for her named Kris who is truly incredible. She regularly answers the phone anytime we call the office with questions or problems and is always very polite and EXTREMELY helpful. She knows all the shortcuts and has an unbelievable memory -- usually recognizing my family members by voice alone. She routinely makes tasks that would take hours on the phone take seconds. I can't count the times we've called to make a change to our account and she says she anticipated the need and changed it already.
