I have never experienced a cleaning company that I had to chase like this one or where the owner is 100% invisible from beginning to end and never exhibited any appreciation for the business or even once asked me how the cleanings were going after a few cleanings. Owner never asked for feedback. Perhaps it was because my location (Durham) was on the "fringe" of the owner's service area and the inadequate quality of services and customer service she provided me wouldn't impact her business. I DID provide unsolicited feedback to the owner regarding the issues. Below is my experience with A Cleaner Home. Before I hired this company, I was assured by the owner's estimator that quality checks were performed periodically. I used this company for several months and a quality check was never done. Some tasks that were advertised on the company website for a Regularly Schedule Cleaning were not performed, i.e., the hardwood/tile floors were never swept or vacuumed prior to being wet mopped; glass tops were hit and miss, inconsistently cleaned. I was paying for cleaning services that included the company providing cleaning products and cleaning tools. At times, the cleaners asked to use my vacuum cleaner and cleaning products. The owner did not provide the two cleaners who were assigned to clean my home with working, functional equipment/tools, i.e., mop pads are frail and extremely worn and ineffective in use. Cleaners asked to use my vacuum for rugs at times because their vacuum was broken. The cleaners even complained about the condition of their tools. I had to ask the cleaners to NOT rinse out their mop pads in the kitchen sink. They started out using the kitchen sink for this even after the sink had been cleaned and did not re-clean/sanitize afterwards and until I asked them to use the laundry sink instead. One of the cleaners, we will call her Sandy, is a bull in a china closet. Her execution of cleaning is highly questionable. She doesn't receive simple request very well at all. I had to ask Sandy multiple times to stop leaving too much water on the hardwood and tile floors. When I mentioned this about the 3rd time to her, she turned her back to me and walked to another part of the house when I was in mid-sentence. This was extremely disrespectful to me and my house.  My only regret in this instance is that I didn't ask her to leave my house immediately for being so disrespectful.  Sandy's method for cleaning the floors was to remove the top from the spray bottle and "chuck", yes "chuck", the bottle contents across the hardwood floors rather than spray the cleaner on the floor.  The first time I saw her "chuck", she then walked around the same floor, in the liquid, for about 10 minutes before she put her hand on a mop handle. Needless to say, I asked her to not "chuck" the product on the floors. If there was something Sandy thought she needed, rather than ask, she would start opening up cabinets until I was forced to ask her what she needed in order for her to stop going through my cabinets. Due to all of the above, I asked the owner of A Cleaner Home to permanently take my home off the schedule for future cleaning.

I inspected the next morning and was not satisfied. I paid for the fridge to be cleaned but upon inspection there was a large mess of chocolate ice cream or pudding still sitting in the fridge. Also there was lots of cat hair still stuck to the outside of the fridge. I did not feel cleaning the windows was even attempted even though I specifically requested that service. To her credit, Teri did come back and remedy these issues. But when I re-inspected after the second cleaning I found that the blinds upstairs were no longer functional and had to be replaced. I cannot recommend this service.

We have had carpets and upholstery cleaned many times over the last 43 years of home ownership, and we must say that All Star Chem-Dry service rates among the best, if not the very best. Phil, our designated cleaner, sent a reminder of when he was scheduled to arrive an hour ahead of time and sent a message letting us know of his arrival. He was friendly and personable but also efficient in setup and work. He worked tirelessly for over two hours. There were a few stubborn clay stains from our pet's paws that Phil deep-cleaned repeatedly until they disappeared. In addition, the price estimate was "spot on." Once Phil arrived, the items to be cleaned were given an up-close exam and a final price for cleaning. I liked knowing what the final bill was going to be before Phil began cleaning. Well, it's done, now -- and our family room is simply beautiful -- and the living space smells especially fresh and clean. We thank you. [First visit charge: Approximately $360] Update! About a week after Phil cleaned our furniture so beautifully, our dog ran in from outside with a muddy paw and messed up a corner of one cushion. Phil returned to clean the spot and, within 15 minutes, removed the spot and sold me some of their special cleaner he used. Remarkable! We are totally satisfied with this company.
