These people are very nice and very friendly until after the sale is made. Once the sale is made they act bothered by anything you might need or any service calls if something doesn't work like it should. They also advertise a 40% off plus additional 15 off plus free installation, but that is absolutely not a real thing. They say they're giving it to you, but you're really not getting it. Additionally, the pictures that are shown for advertising are deceiving. The material they use is not great quality and does not show all of the holes up and down the pieces of particleboard that make the design look low quality and cheap. Once they have your money, they really don't care. I even had a service guy come out because one of my drawers wasn't closing right and he basically said it was fine and it's not. Almost $6000 later for a very average size closet, I truly wish I would've shopped around. I highly suggest that you get several quotes. Once they have your sale, they really don't care. And the guy that came to install it and to fix my drawer that he didn't fix, was bordering on cocky. I live in a pretty up-and-coming area that is booming with new homes and an influx of new families. It's a shame. This was my experience because I have access to a lot of people through my job in my neighborhood and I could not confidently recommend this company. Way overpriced too. read more

My master walk-in closet was designed and built and while the closet is fine, they damaged the door on a brand new build and refuse to make it right after I paid over $3700 for my closet. Not only was the door ripped off the hinge, the back of the door was damaged by the door stop due to carelessness. Now I'll be out a few hundred dollars when I am able replace the door that they carelessly damaged and do not want to take responsibility for. My recommendation is to use a different company that actually cares about customers and their organization's reputation. read more

I had been so annoyed with my current closet for so long that my hubby said we could price getting it redesigned. I planned to build shelves myself but couldn't decide on the material or how I wanted it to look. Then I met Anita B. with Closets by Design!! She came over and it was like we've known each other for years!! She measure my closet and sat down to create a design I'd like based on my needs. She's AMAZING! She drew everything out by hand - nothing electronic (except her digital measuring tape). I made adjustments to reach a better budget and still give me the room I needed and made the appt. They allowed you to make payments, which was great! They called an hour earlier than expected to say they were headed my way on the day of install! They arrived and looked at the space, then began unloading their supplies. First thing was drop cloths on all floors in their path. THANK YOU! After about 2-3hrs, they packed up and were done! I'm very pleased the business and the finished product. I'd definitely be interested in using them again for an office, closet, or garage. read more

The guys did an amazing job. The install lasted about 3 1/2 hours flawless execution. I will definitely use them again.

I do not recommend this business. I spend $2,326.00 on a small ( not walk-in) closet where the installation crew only spent one hour on my closet. They rushed the job, missed a bottom corner that is ragged, and the two sides of the closet are unevenly spaced. As soon as I opened the closet doors I was alarmed that the spacing for the drawers is uneven. It doesn't look right when opening the doors. I got out my measuring tape and sure enough, one side of the drawers is 24 inches while the other is 28 inches. The remedy for fixing this would be to place the drawers in the middle, with 26 inches on each side. I contacted closets by design right away, hoping they would come back to fix it, but I got no response. I eventually got in contact with Amy, the designer I worked with, and she told me to email photos and my concerns and she will get it up to corporate. A couple weeks later she got back to me and said they can fix the molding but will do nothing about the spacing. I would like to have a partial refund, or the spacing fixed. If i was okay with an uneven job I would have gone with any handyman to do the closet rather than what is supposedly a luxury/specialty business. I do not feel that my closet outcome is worth the price that I paid. read more

I had an interior reach-in closet, converted to an entertainment center in my bedroom by this company. Excellent work from top to bottom. The designer came out, took all the measurements and drafted up a computer model of what was in her vision. The installation took about a half day, the installers were professional, and the end result is fantastic. Not everything was perfect. I had to wait almost 3 months for the work to take place. They also do not have anyone who could come in to take apart the old closet and I had to hire someone for that. The person they recommended wanted $600; I found a handyman to do it for $100. And they are also not cheap. I chose all the lowest end options, and the price was still over $2500. But I am very happy with the end result. read more

My closet was dysfunctional. It is narrow and there were clothing racks on both sides. This also assured that I couldn't even see my clothes because little light was penetrating. A friend gave me some suggestions. I decided to see what a company would do. Closets by Design was the easiest to make an appointment. I knew it was expensive so I set a limit of $2000. The sales person, Shannon, was extremely flexible. She was unobtrusive, knew what she was doing, came up with precise drawings and suggestions and gave me the bottom line. The estimate came up higher and she went back to the drawing board to see what she could cut or change to fit my budget. There was a sale that I didn't know about and she applied it. I did go slightly over but that's because I opted for a nicer finish. One installer (forgot his name - Michael?) came on the earlier side of estimated time. He worked quickly and without a problem asking me permission to leave outside door open while bringing in material and a couple little things. He even vacuumed after and was very nice. My closet is wonderful. I want to keep the door open and just look at it! I can see everything and I now have extra room. I'm thrilled. See pics read more

I would give zero stars if I could! They put a hole in my wall with their crowbar while pulling off my baseboard in my garage and absolutely refused to fix it. I sent them before and after photos and still no! It is a 25 dollar patch job for 5,000 dollars I spent! ridiculous! read more

Be aware to pay up front before they even start installation. I'm self employed and have never ask for all the money upfront. When anyone does, lookout! Throws a red flag for me. I have no issues with the installation, but very disappointed in the amount and structure of the product for what they charge. Of course they don't bring any samples out so you can see the they make. Pretty much paid $2K for maybe $6-800 worth of product at best. Plus the so called design was pitiful. I take some blame for not getting involved enough, but figured to let others know the trap on the up front payment, and the rest is just lessons learned. I couldn't sleep at night if I ran my business with these ethics. Like I tell others: "it's not about how little you can do for the most amount of money you can get". What a scam this place is ! We had a representative come out to our home and measure out closets for remodeling. We were shown a rough drawing of proposed plans and put a deposit to secure a discount. We wanted to know if professional plans could be given to us and we're told no problem. After a week of emailing asking for the plans we finally received them. After reviewing we decided to cancel the remodeling We emailed as no phone number was ever given and surprisingly our closet designer got right back to us informing us we were past the 3 day cancellation time. So we have to wait over a week for the designs and then are told it's too late. This is a total SCAM. Do NOT do business with these people. Scheduling was good, they kept us informed of the timing and touched base to make sure we knew the timing and how the process would flow. (then we just had to wait to get on the calendar! fortunately, not TOO long - only a few weeks) We got a reminder email the day before and our installers were ON TIME (this is important to us!) and did a fantastic job. We had prepped our closet so all they had to do was install, but they were quick and efficient - and NEAT! Simone Pope is an outstanding Sales Rep, who was knowledgable, friendly, and a great listener. She took our ideas and then drew mockups that gave us a clear picture of what it would look like. She was always available to us, even late at night, answering all our questions and addressing our concerns. The installers were extremely professional. They were very careful to not cause any damage and cleaned up nicely after themselves leaving no mess behind. When it turned out one of the closet doors needed adjusting, CBD stood by their work and returned the next day and adjusted the door so it worked perfectly. Last year they installed a functional closet for me. Now I absolutely love going in my closet! My designer Randi gave me little tips to organizing more than just my closet and it has been so helpful. She was experienced and intuitive to my needs and went above and beyond by sending me links to items that would tie my closet and other areas together more. Designer gets 5+stars, appointment set up 5 stars, one of the installers were questionable. Do not leave them alone even if your designer says they can be trusted. They unprofessionally misplaced the check payment and cash tip I left for both of them before I had to leave for work since it took longer than expected. Luckily I was able to pay the nice customer service lady on the phone. On home video camera I caught that one installer blaming me for taking it and snooping around pretending to look for the check while picking up personal items that had nothing to do with payment. While the other installer worked hard and did most of the work. Maybe it was just one bad employee I am not sure. I am extremely happy with end result. However, I will not be contacting them again for other areas I had planned to install organizer units due to bad experience with one employee and poor follow up when I complained. read more

My wife, having an interior design background, was delighted with the design. They were very flexible on the install date and the two installers, Ricky and Nino were among the best we've had in our house. They took great care in covering the floors and carpets and left the house as clean as they found it. They were very professional, polite, and the workmanship was well done. Extra care was taken with molding in some tight places and making the non-straight walls seem plumb straight.
