The decor is quirky, and the comfortable seating area in the middle of the salon looks like the perfect place to hang out while you wait. My stylist was very pleasant and asked the right questions to ensure my hair was styled to expectation. I know I've already found my salon/barber going forward, and I am absolutely thrilled! I'm a blonde, but she first processed my hair to magenta then panicked and hurriedly slapped on 2 (TWO) more chemical treatments in the effort to mitigate the initial damage, without benefit of pre-conditioning treatments, and without my approval or input. My hair ended up badly damaged with carrot orange roots and light blonde dried ends, over processed. She was PROFUSELY apologetic during the time I was at her shop, but after I subsequently spent 3 hours at a professional salon undergoing fragile repair of my hair, including several deep conditioning treatments and a very short haircut, her apologetic demeanor ironically evaporated. When I approached her and asked her to contribute to the cost of repairing the damage to my hair, which she was solely responsible for, she became openly hostile and told me that if I'd only waited 4-6 weeks, as she told me, the orange roots would oxidize and blend in. Seriously???? When I asked her if this was work she was proud of, she said I'd have to take her to court if I wanted reimbursement of my hair repair costs, which by the way were over $300. I've never had such a haphazard job on my hair, followed by a total absence of integrity in acceptance of responsibility for a serious mistake. Please save yourselves a similar experience, by avoiding this facility in general, and Susan, specifically.

I like that it's totally affordable, no frills, and they usually do exactly what I ask for. Unfortunately, when I came to the Weaverville location, things did not go so smoothly. I told the woman that I wanted some layering, from my jaw down. She didn't really put in enough and so I asked for a little more . Before I realized what was happening, she was layering all the way up to my temples! The hair on the very top of my head is quite short compared to my shoulder length hair. I didn't get the woman's name but she was young with with died apricot hair. I wish I had checked the reviews before going here. I'm very unhappy with my cut and unfortunately am going to have to wait for it to grow out.

A friend of mine swears by this place so I went. I was nervous but it's clean, didn't smell weird, it was busy but I was seated immediately. The stylist asked a few questions and got to work. I was out in about 30 minutes. It was cheap and I'm happy. I don't know what people are expecting at these prices but for a decent basic cut, I'll go again...

His place is a throwback to a time long gone in America--the quaint, friendly, neighborhood barbershop. When it comes to the haircut, Jack gets the job done. He's not always 100 percent perfect, so, if you're looking for a high-end stylist, Jack's not your man. Jack's is the type of place Bukowski would get his hair cut.
