Seems Tri County Equipment have recently purchased Rochester Lawn Equipment. Took in a piece of…read moresnow equipment that had been repaired by Rochester, but had come back with oil leak. They accepted my equipment, gave me a receipt for $0, with the note on the order for "complaint ... please fix oil leak". They called me a week later and said that the engine did not sound good, and there were metal shavings in the oil. They then said that the new owners will not honor prior work/warranty of prior owner. But they had a nice used machine they would sell me. When I came to the shop, the price they wanted for an old machine was unacceptable (I mean really they were not even in fair range). Anyway, not a problem, but when I just said I would take my machine, they said that I owed them $53 dollars for looking at machine and giving their input. When I said they had not mentioned a charge to repair a problem created by the service, and gave me a receipt for $0 on estimated bill, they pointed at an 8.5 X 11 sheet of paper taped on the side that said service estimates $53 ... and said "they would not give me my machine without giving them $53 ... they do not work for free". So I paid $53, and they then brought me my machine. It was torn down, casings and covers just laying on top. Actually some of the parts they had removed were missing. I then did get upset and demanded that they at least put it back together as it had come into their shop, and find all of the parts. Anyway, 45 minutes later I was able to leave with what I believe was still my machine and all of what were my parts to my machine? As you can imagine, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. And would add the caution to beware and keep all documentation.
